Pensions in your nation and when do you get them?

Postby Dungeyland » Sat May 22, 2010 3:24 am

What age are citizens of your nation permitted to retire with a State Pension.

In Dungeyland, you must be aged 70 to retire with a State Pension, regardless of gender. After retirement, you are given your State Pension, which is paid out of your Social Security Account, through the National Insurance you've paid for your whole life.

The Money never goes higher than 75% of your original income. When you paid NI, you had a choice on how much you wanted to pay (since you're only paying for yourself). If you paid less, then you get a lower pension. If you paid more, you get a bigger pension. Simplez

Classical liberal.
  • My nation is called the Dangish Empire, officially
  • The population is circa 500 million
  • It is an imperial federation
  • The term Dungeyland while only technically referring to one colony can be used for the entire Empire (think Holland)
  • The Dangish Empire is a constitutional monarchy, our monarch is Queen Ellen I

Owing to our extended lifespans our people usually retire when they reach 80% of the projected lifespan of their species/genotype.
Senior citizens are awarded a pension that is 75% of the money they earned in their occupation before retirement paid fortnightly.

Humans: 120 years
GEMs: 320 years

Currently 1% of the human population collects pensions and 0% of the GEM population collects pensions.

About 5% of the minority species of sentient beings that are citizens collect pensions.

The goverment does not regulate or give out pensions. Before the Great Patriotic Revolution when we had the system of the Old Federal Goverment it had Social Security but that all stopped when most Old Federal Leaders were put to death.

Our people usually retire when they reach 65% of the projected lifespan of their species/genotype. At that stage, goverment funding is provided to house, feed and entertain them.

70. It used to be 65 until it was increased in 2007 - although anyone born between 1 Jan 1937 and 31 Dec 1941 are unaffected by this change.

"We are not socalist to have state pensions, we have better things to do with our money. Our people trend to buy private pensions schemes. Only exception is if you have served in military of Great Nepal, in which case 75+ receives a pension which varies according to there rank in the army and the time they served."

At the age of 62 (M) and 59 (F), taxes are reduced by around 15%. At the age of 67 (M) and 62 (F), pensions, made up of National Insurance payments, are awarded. In the event that a person dies before exhausting their pension, their NI money is transferred to their next of kin's account, increasing their payments.

Pensions are the jurisdiction of the Cantons, except for military veterans, which are given out at the age of 65, paid by the Federal Republic.

Most citizens of the Federal Republic are covered by the private pension systems instituted by the majority of the Cantons.

Employers are required by law to give retirees who worked for them at the date of their retirement to pay them a pension based on how long they worked at the employer and how hard the retiree worked.

There are also social security and public pensions. Public pensions are at least $800 a month. Social security covers medical care and insurance, and pays $550 a month. Seniors have enough pensions to move into a luxury manor.

Its ensuring those who retire can actually live in a house, and not on the street. And with the state, they are insured. With private corporations and some loopholes, it can possibly get dangerous.

State pensions is provided state in the expenses of tax payers. If those people were not smart enough to get insured when they had time, why should state give them money?
