Dear President Ikuzu,

One of our devices has successfully caught your transmission and it has arrived in my office. It is a great honour to receive this from you and your government, and it is only the second occasion that Insulamia has received a multiversal communication directed specifically to us. However, improving upon the mistakes of the first time, I have decided not to immediately allow a Nomayukian diplomatic mission into Insulamia. Of course, I am sure that you and your government have the best of intentions when proposing this, but we simply do not know enough about Nomayuki yet to proceed with the request. The multiverse is a perilous place, we have seen, and Insulamia desires to handle it with utmost caution.

On this note, though, I do wish to learn more about your nation; for, so far, I have next to no knowledge. However, from what I could gather from your email, your world is very much similar to mine in many regards. We both have, in some form, the English language, though I am not entirely sure that vou call it that. We probably both have emails, addresses, spaceships, memes, the Earth, Christianity... These similarities paint a rough outline of what your nation and your universe look like, but I would love if you could enlighten me on more of full picture. I would also like to know what you know about my world and my nation, as it seems that you do have some information on us.

Apologies if my inquiries are getting exhaustive, but I do still have some more specific questions and comments. In the first lines of your email, you say that an Insulamian used Nomayuki's name in a song. I believe you have been mistaken, as there is no way that any Insulamian has heard of Nomayuki prior to this point, let alone used its name in a song or broadcasted it to different universes. Nevertheless, I hope this does not deter your desire to form a partnership with Insulamia. Additionally, you talk about "posts relating to Insulamia". May you elaborate on what this means? I certainly have not seen many transmissions about Insulamia floating around in the multiverse. I am also curious about the time in which you and Nomayuki exist in. Your communication was first detected by our technology at 05:29:27 IST on 18 January 2023 anno Domini (please let me know if you do not understand the ways in which I have communicated time). It was undated, of course; but the technology mentioned, the style of language used, and certain other aspects of your email lead some of my colleagues to believe that your society is slightly more advanced in time than ours.

At the moment, the Government of Insulamia's policy to the multiverse is one of inquisitivity, neutrality, and peacefulness. We know not much of the multiverse and how its nations interact, but we have witnessed its great wars, many of which involve weapons far beyond our comprehension. It is a highly dangerous endeavour to interact with the multiverse and this is why we are presently closely guarding the secrets behind our access to it to the public. Our aim is to understand the multiverse and to secure a safe and positive future between it and our world.

In striving for this aim; I want to request, if you may, you to please educate us on what you know about the multiverse (which is almost certainly more than we do). If you feel comfortable in talking about your methods of multiversal travel to me, please do so. And perhaps in future we could consider a pact of non-aggression between Insulamia and Nomayuki?

Over the last few days I have had my team sift through our systems to find the "unauthorised modifications" you speak of. They found the modifications and examined them, concluding that there was nothing harmful. Therefore, I will not remove them from the computers, as it seems that they facilitate your communications to us. However, I must request you to refrain from intefering in Insulamian affairs without permission in future. It seems, by your wording, that you are aware that these changes to some of our computer systems were "unauthorised"; but please understand that meddling with our devices (and presumably breaking into our buildings) without even initially informing us is a major breach of the trust that the we have placed onto vou, even if the changes are not malicious. I am willing to, for the sake of this relationship, write this off as a simple misunderstanding between us; though should this happen again, I may have to terminate our communications entirely.

Moving on to a more positive note, what you reveal about your world is very interesting. Our worlds seem to share many similarities. Even "Poland cannot into space", as one of my younger colleagues has informed me, is a thing here. Knowing this, I shall be more lenient with my reference to things that exist in my universe, though please let me know if you do not understand anything I say and I will be happy to explain.

Of course, there are certain things that differ between our worlds as well. You say the year that you are in is 2023, and I assume this is following the Gregorian calendar. However, like I said in my previous correspondence, it seems that your technology is well beyond what we have, even though we are nominally in the same year. We have not come anywhere close to accelerating matter to light speed, let alone past it. In fact, all our top scientific theories suggest that this is, like you say, impossible.

Another major difference is, of course, the appearances of our universes. It is very curious that your universe looks like what would be, in my universe, Japanese-style animation. Unfortunately, I think this will be a barrier that prevents Nomayukians from entering Insulamia for the moment. As you know, our current policy dictates that knowledge of the multiverse is to be strictly guarded and hidden from the public until we can ensure the complete safety of our world. By letting a Nomayukian in, I believe that it would have a high risk of exposing these secrets, as the appearance of Nomayukians are, quite literally, alien to our populace. Therefore, I believe it is best to put the embassy project to one side for the moment. It is not something I think is too important or urgent — there is no trade, immigration, or the such between our nations to necessitate an embassy or a consulate. Limiting Insulamia–Nomayuki relations to the confines of our emails should suffice for the moment.

I thank you for all the information you have given so far about your nation. There is one big question that I am still curious about, though. As it appears that the physical geography of your planet is very similar to mine, I would like to know where Nomayuki is located geographically. You say German, Japanese, and Russian are some of your main languages, and I am having a hard time imagining what territories a country must lie on to contain such diverse and distant languages. On the topic of language, I do not believe the "Orangean" that you speak of is a language in our world. May you explain to me what this language is, where it's spoken, where it came from, and so on?

I also thank you for the information regarding your multiversal travel. I suppose it would only be courteous if I told you about our methods of doing this. I must preface, though, by saying that we understand our methods far less than your government presumably understand yours. So, it starts in July 2021, when a team from our Federal Domestic Investigative Agency found a peculiar lamp in a cave on a remote island to the northwest of mainland Insulamia. It was acquired by the Ministry of Domestic Affairs, where a group of scientists started discovering its supernatural properties. The lamp was made of seemingly familiar materials — copper and glass — but microscopic inspection revealed that it was not made of atoms in the traditional sense. This, for whatever reason, made it completely indestructable, regardless of what they did to it. Then, a few months later, they accidentally discovered that by putting it near a computer or some sort of data output devices; the lamp could somehow catch signals from other worlds and other times and relay them into the device. We caught information from countless universes, and we worked tirelessly to try to make sense of them. We also learned that the lamp teleports, time travels, and dimension travels at the will of its holder, and it can even take the holder with it in some occasions. And that is pretty much all we know about our device. We do not know how or why it works (it seems like magic to us), but we know that it holds immense power and that is why we are managing it so cautiously. If, by any chance, you or one of your colleagues can explain anything about our lamp's workings based on my rough description; please let me know as this would be very helpful. And, if you may, can you tell me about your interactions with other extrauniversal entities (if you have had any)? This could help me and my government in managing such interactions in the future.

Regarding your queries, Nomayuki's physical geography comprises of all of what you may know as Russia excluding Karelia and the Kola Peninsula, all of the Kuril Islands except for the 4 southernmost ones, and the entirety of the United States of America. Nomayuki's language is known as Orangean, which is a language exclusive to our planet. The language was created in the 1300s or the 14th century. Here is an excerpt from Nomayuki's Wikipedia Page. "As the Nomayukian ethnicity was being created, cultures were also being mixed. The former slaves made a new language, now known as Orangean, with Nordic, Germanic, and Russian-like words in it." Japanese got to Nomayuki when they tried to invade it in 1461 when Japanese culture flourished in 1854, and during WW2, when many Japanese immigrants and prisoners of war naturalized. The immigration was so great that the Japanese outnumbered the Nomayukian people, 2:1. In fact, I myself am the descendant of a former Kempeitai officer.

Another fun fact to add. We researched your world and found that it does have the same songs and music as us, but with some differences. First, I found this song called "Comedy" by Gen Hoshino. This song was written in 2022 by the aforementioned man in your world, but it was written in 1962 by Seroy Kuschin IV in ours. Gen Hoshino only popularized it outside Nomayuki. I also found it odd that rapping and the cappersmusic* genre were invented only in the 70s-90s in your world, while both of these were invented in 1937 in our world. It's also odd that you call cappersmusic "trap music".

Another thing you want to know is our interaction with other extragalactic entities. What we know here is that we have only one absolutely large universe, and most of it hasn't been discovered yet. As we discover it with our spaceships, we find multiple nations and regions with nations with them. Nomayuki and our earth are in a galaxy cluster/region known as "the South Pacific" and we are currently participating in a tournament the likes of what both of us may know as the FIFA World Cup.

It is regrettable to find that, because you need to keep your findings and interactions within this universe of ours secret, we may not establish official relations yet. In Nomayuki, we are very open when it comes to revealing the universe and what kind of entities and nations we discover in it. Finding this out, the Vice President, Prime Minister, the parliament, and the Department of Foreign Affairs have devised a plan that would us establish relations by the start of 2024. I may have been misleading with my phrasing of "cultural artefacts." I greatly appreciate that you trust me and the Insulamian Government with some of your most treasured historical artefacts, but I intended this to be an exchange of ordinarier objects. Of course, we find your history interesting, but we do not have enough knowledge yet about it to properly appreciate your artefacts. I suggest that we exchange more common items from our nations to get a better understanding of eachother's regular operations first. Additionally, as we are keeping this project secretive, it would be very hard for us to obtain important Insulamian artefacts without alerting the public.

So please tell me what items you find of interest in my country or my world and I will consider sending you some. If it is possible, my colleagues would like (for the moment) to receive an Orangean/English andor French dictionary, a sample of cappersmusic and other types of music not found in Insulamia, and some key parts of your spaceships that allow it to reach the speeds that you say. And if you have anything that you think Insulamia would find of interest for research, please discuss this with me.

As for the delivery of voch artefacts, please send them to the Federal Domestic Investigative Agency headquarters at 440 Major Drive, Camling (Cabot Metropolitan Area) 1170 HR, Insulamia, if possible. Vou may deliver these items at whatever time best suits vou, preferrably in a way that does not arouse public suspicion, but please alert us before doing so.

The delivery of our items to Nomayuki may be a little more difficult. Our methods of multiversal travel require us to remain in the same location geographically, as moving at high speeds through the third dimension without incredibly comprehensive protection would almost instantaneously destroy a person or an object. So, perhaps we could arrange a time and place for a meeting at 440 Major where we exchange our objects and the Nomayukians could take them back on the spaceship?

Also, I have been thinking about the issue of sending people between our nations. As I have said previously, Nomayukians in Insulamia would be trouble, but is the same true for Insulamians in Nomayuki? If the your government and the Nomayukian populace are comfortable with having an Insulamian visit, perhaps we could arrange this sometime?

On another note, the sample of text in Orangean was very interesting to us. I showed it to Joshua Canning, our Primeminister, who is also a linguist. He noted that it shared many characteristics with Germanic languages, as you said, and drew comparisions to German, Cardish, and Luxembourgish.

And speaking of Cardish, does Carjack exist in your universe? We have not seen any maps from the multiverse with the nation, and several maps with it missing. What do you think this could mean? Could the Cars be multiverse-traversers too? Have they tried to contact Nomayuki? And on a similar note, has Nomayuki interacted with any other nations on our planet? And if the place is bustling, when isn't there too much traffic? And where would you recommend that we park our spaceship? Anyway, to make your people less stunned, either train them to look at animes (specifically Spy x Family and The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited) and prepare them to look at people like the characters in them in real life OR make us wear masks. Regarding your query on whether it would be trouble to send an Insulamian to Nomayuki, it will not. Nomayukian people keep their anime-as-known-by-you forms in your galaxy, but based on some research that our scientists have conducted, people will be turned into their anime-as-known-by-you forms in our galaxy once they enter it. So it wouldn't be a problem. In fact, the populace and the government are striving to get an Insulamian person to visit Nomayuki, best case by March. If you think that my goals are too optimistic, I would like to justify that Nomayukians do things quickly and VERY quickly, even conquering superpowers such as the United States and Russia were less than a month each. That means that we are used to and like being fast.

And about the nation known as Carjack, we have done some research on it. It does not exist in our galaxy, and, if used in a sentence, would probably be a capitalization error for the word "carjack". We've done some research and found that the word "car" refers to the Cardish people and not to automobiles. Do you just call automobiles "automobiles"? The Cars have not tried to contact us and we have not tried to contact them yet. I think that the rest of your world would essentially be if Nomayuki didn't exist (please correct me if I am wrong), and we haven't contacted any of the other nations in your world yet. I also mentioned in my earliest message that the people were demanding contact with Insulamia because of great interest in extragalactic relations with other nations... and it appears that they noticed Insulamia first. In fact, the Nomayukian people have known about Insulamia since last year.

Dear President Ikuzu,

I fear that I may have underestimated the difficulty of the meeting for the exchange of items. Upon further examination, I see not a way that one could park a spaceship in suburban Cabot without drawing any unwanted attention, even if the spaceship could land there in the first place. Therefore, I have devised some new ideas for your consideration about this matter.

If voch spaceships look reasonably like military planes, or they could be disguised to look like so, then perhaps vou could land them in an Avy (I assume you would say "Air Force" like the rest of our world does) base. I think this is the best solution, if it is possible. My colleagues recommend Joseph S. Salton Airbase in Arthy, northeast Septentria for this operation.

Else, we could perhaps disguise a spaceship as a meteorite of some sort, but this may draw in public suspicion when the Federal Domestic Investigative Agency (FDIA) investigate it and do not reveal their results to the public.

I am sure that there are more methods to conduct this interaction, but that is all that we have come up with thusfar. We are also limited by the extent of our knowledge of Nomayukian spaceships. So, if you have a better plan or any ideas on improvements, we are open to discussion. The date of 14 February seems not to be too much of a stretch for us, but it all depends on how quickly we can settle on a plan and get it done.

As you say that Insulamians visiting Nomayuki would not be problematic, I think we could arrange a visit in the near future. I probably will not be able to go, as I have to remain in the public eye (despite how admittedly irrelevant my role is in Insulamian politics), but I think we could send some lower-ranking collaborators in either the DIA or the Ministry of Culture.

About the billboard question. I am not certain of what it means, as I have not seen this billboard before. However, I think this is most likely a billboard from a company named Voix or a similar one. They often put regular people's text submissions on billboards (I am not exactly sure why, but perhaps this is a convoluted marketing tactic), especially if they are funny or thought-provoking. "chfoudrai euhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" seems to be a phonetic spelling of "je voudrais euhhh", especially when spoken quickly. "Je voudrais" means "I would like" in French, so an approximate translation to English would be "iwdlike uhhhhh". I do not really understand what the message is here, perhaps due to my age and my distance from the new generations' culture. My best guess would be that it signals an awkward moment when ordering something at a restaurant of sorts, when one says "I would like" really fast but then struggles to quickly decide on an order. This interpretation is not particularly interesting nor special, so I may be wrong. But then again, many things that Voix puts on their billboards aren't that captivating either.

On the matter of Carjack. We commonly call automobiles "autoes" ("autos" in non-Insulamian spellings) for short, or "auts" (sometimes spelled "aughts") for shorter. This is not something unique to Insulamian English. It is very interesting that in a world without the Cardish people, you call the automobile a "car". I suppose this is derived from "carriage" or similar words? Also, you say that "carjack" is also a word in your world, albeit uncapitalised. What does this word mean?

Understanding the difficulties regarding the parking or disguise of our spaceship, we'll follow through with your plans. Indeed, our spaceships, or rather, space shuttles, can slow down to be as slow as regular military transport aircraft and they do look like military transport aircraft. Or at least just the ones from the Space Force. Some of my colleagues have seen some of your military transport aircraft by satellite and we are shocked that the designs of both of our planes have an uncanny resemblance. This should make the job easier. But we only scratched the surface, so we have a question. "Do we or do we not have to put your air force, or rather, 'Avy', insignia, on our spaceships?" And if so, may you send a .png file of your insignia for us to (paint/print?) on our spaceship? We will go with your air force plan and not the meteorite plan.

Maybe this visit in the near future that you may be setting up could be in March to May if that's okay for you. We will also give the delegates that you send permission to roam around Nomayuki and ask some questions.

Thank you for the clarification on the "chfoudrai euhhhh..." billboard. I do find it odd that the billboard company, Voix, posts those kinds of billboards. Placeholders?

Regarding your query on our uncapitalized word for "carjack", it is a verb and its definition is to hijack or steal a car (or auto, to you). Regarding the fact that you might not allow large objects from us just yet, we will not be sending cars at the moment. But is it still okay to send blueprints of these cars and physical copies of the electronics as well?

Dear President Ikuzu,

I have attached an image of an Avy Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft as well as some illustrations of Avy insignia that are present on their aircraft. If you want more exact descriptions of how to present the livery, I can send you some more rigorous documentation, but I think just following the design of the Hercules in the picture should be fine for this mission. I think not that many members of the public will be looking too closely at your spacecraft's livery.

What I am concerned about is the sudden and suspicious appearance of your spaceship. Firstly, as your spaceship will not be taking off from any airfield in our world, it will be suspicious if any unauthorised person spots it, whether on a radar or in person. The radar problem could perhaps be solved using stealth technology, but it could still arouse suspicion if your spaceship does not look like a stealth plane. Secondly, an aircraft entering from space is quite conspicuous, and that could also arouse suspicion. I have not a good solution for that yet.

I do not know too much of what voch technology is capable of at the moment, so there may still be some solution using it. Perhaps if vou had something to produce visual invisibility it could work. Or maybe you could somehow trick our radar systems into believing a fake flight path for your spaceship. Please, we are a little stuck on this issue so any ideas or assistance of yours will be crucial.

About the date, Valentine's Day (that is February 14, the planned date, in case you have not that in your world) is now only a week away, so I do not think we will be able to reach a conclusive plan and execute it before then. It would be great if a March or April date is possible. I believe that we should keep the date vague and avoid rushing our preparations, as we are dealing with very important and fragile matters.

On a final note, thank you for your explanation of the word "carjack" in your language. It would have never occured to me - nor any of my colleagues - that it would come from "car" and a "-jack" suffix from the American English word "hijack". It is very interesting to see some aspects of our worlds to appear in each other's in miraculous coincidental ways like this.

Regarding your concern, fear not. Our technology has the capability of making our spacecraft "invisible" and the capability of making a flight path. Foreign radars will not be able to detect our spacecraft, and neither will yours, but if you are willing to set up a fake flight path from what is known as Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in your world, maybe our plan will be as follows. We will enter the Earth's atmosphere in the North Pacific Ocean, turning on the invisibility then so that no cruise ship, boat, or any vessel on the ocean may spot it. Sound will not be a problem as our spacecraft have the capability of being totally silent. We will then fly a path to your airport utilizing the Arctic Ocean and Greenland. After this, we will turn on the visibility when we enter Insulamian airspace and land on the Joseph S. Salton airbase. Then, we could hide if that is what you want.

I understand your desire to change the date of this exchange from February 14 to somewhere in March or April. But I am confident that we will be able to devise a plan at least before the end of the month and execute it within March or April. You're welcome for the definition of our world's version's definition of "carjack".

Dear President Ikuzu,

It is excellent that you have invisible and silent spacecraft. This will make the process far easier for the both of us. I believe that creating a false flight path is no longer needed, as it can now be presented as if there is no aircraft at all.

I do wonder, though, why should you need to enter in the Pacific and take a long route? Would it not be easier just to enter nearer to Insulamia and J. S. Salton? Also, I do not think that vou should turn on visibility, even in Insulamian airspace; it matters not if a civilian is an Insulamian or not, we would not want them to see the craft either way. I think we should have a fixed time for the landing so we can clear the runway in preparation. Perhaps vou could still be invisible, but also turn on some sort of light to indicate where your spacecraft is once vou touch down on the airbase, so the personnel on the ground can move and guide vou accordingly. Once the spaceship is safely in the hangar, we can shut the doors and vou can safely turn on visibility again.

I have been also reconsidering the items that vou plan on bringing on the ship. About the food, I do not think that we would benefit much from having samples of Nomayukian food in our country. There is not much that we can research about it beyond its ingredients and preperation, which I'm sure you can just send us a recipe for. At the moment, we are primarily interested in examining things that are present in the Nomayuki world but not in the Insulamia world, especially things that are particularly unique. You know a lot more about both of our worlds than I do, so I think you should analyse both and see what things best fit this criteria to bring on this first trip, hopefully out of many, to Insulamia. The technologies that you are currently planning on bringing are great, but we would also like to know more about the technologies used in your spacecraft to make them faster than light or invisible or silent, and whatever other wonderous things us Insulamians don't know about but vou Nomayukians do.

On another note, you mentioned in a previous message that beings like me would look like anime-to-me when entering your galaxy. If this is true, then know you if Nomayukians would look like Insulamians when entering the Insulamian universe? I suppose we will find out when the spaceship arrives, but if this conversion does work in the reverse, then perhaps a Nomayukian coming to Insulamia may not be such a stretch. Perhaps we could soon build you an embassy like you asked in your first email?

And finally, about the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley, I have been told that it is used in our universe as a bait-and-switch prank wherein an unsuspecting victim clicks on a link that claims to lead to somewhere else, but actually takes them to a website showing this song, in a phenomenon known as "rickrolling". Is this how it is used in Nomayuki as well?
