General election in Esperantujo 2

A general election is taking place for the 276 members of parliament. Half will be elected first past the post in the 69 constituencies. The remainder are elected proportionally to the sum of votes for each party's unsuccessful candidates plus the majorities of their successful candidates. There are equal number of seats for men and women. Non-binary gendered people may stand in either category. The parties standing, from left to right, are: Movement for 6th International (M6I), Revolutionary United General Alliance (Rugha), Left Greens, Radical Greens (Verda), Residual Greens, Authentic Greens, Diskordia, and Conservative. Candidates do not have to stand for a party but may stand as Independent. However every candidate must be endorsed by a Mass Organisation. The 4 left parties are currently in government, having won the last three elections.

From the Electoral Commission of Esperantujo 2This commission has received complaints of severe misconduct in the election in the constituencies of Ramno, Rosetio Central and Rosetio West. The Commission decides to accept the result in Rosetio West but uphold the complaints and order a rerun of the election in Rosetio Central and Ramno. The situation is now:

Comparison with previous election is difficult due to the creation of the new constituency of Rosetio Central and the reduction of constituencies in Ramno to 1, with a net reduction of 4 seats.

In the rerun election in Ramno Leono Amiko has lost to a Diskordian candidate. The election is still very close. Rugha and the Residual Greens both have 20 seats declared while Movement for 6th International has 19 and the Left Greens have 18.

Verda did exceptionally well, increasing its seats despite the reduction in the number of constituencies. The ruling Red-Green coalition has a majority to continue but with the success of Verda and the Residual Greens a Greener government is likely, with the Residual Greens replacing Movement for Sixth International.
