Is internet access legal? and to what degree?: Anyone can access the internet, but only through the State as a provider. As such, there is content that is censored, restricted, or outright banned. Full access to the internet is only given to officials who deal with external authorities or internet maintenance, and often only within certain locations.
Why is the internet access legal/illegal?:The State acknowledges that the internet is extremely influential in shaping the world and international action, and wishes to channel its abilities for the nation's benefit. Complete banning of the internet would be overall harmful to the country's development, and maintaining an intranet is both limiting and difficult to ensure everyone is staying in it.
Does your nation use a world wide web domain?: yes, but it's ww., just "world web".
What is your nation's internet domain?: .sg
Does your nation have separate domain name(s) for separate purposes?: .gov is for government services, .nid is for official documents and information, and .net is for general sites.
What kinds of content are legal on the internet in your nation? Anything that doesn't break laws (i.e. CP) or is not anti-government is most likely allowed. Outside sources to try and circumvent government processes will be banned (i.e. foreign markets and such)
Does your nation have a broadcasting service?: State-run, but yes
Does your nation have an internet and/or telecommunications provider?: The government is the sole provider of internet in the State, foreign providers are prohibited, and State-made tech will often have built-in preventative measures to be more incompatible to outside providers.

Is internet acess legal? and to what degree?: (basic or universal right, acessable with a license, only avaialable to a certain class of people, etc.)
Internet access is legal, not as a right in itself, but it isn't subject to licensing requirements for individual use.
Why is the internet acess legal/illegal?:It's legal because it's good for people to have internet access, and because there isn't justification to restrict it to a license.
Does your nation use a world wide web domain?: (https:// www . sitename1 . sitename2 . domain / webpage) Yes
What is your nation's internet domain?: (real life examples include Italy (.it), tuvalu (.tv), montenegro (.me), sweden (.se), and anguilla (.ai)) .ju, .jsn
Does your nation have seperate domain name(s) for seperate purposes?: (for example, the USA has .com, .org, .net, .us, and .gov) .com.jsn, .org.jsn, .edu.jsu, .gov.jsn, .mil.jsn, .blog.jsn, .xxx.jsn, .cd.ju, .net.jsn (in order: commerce, NFP organizations, education, government, military use, blogs, pornographic content, civil defense resources and notices, general internet)
What kinds of content are legal on the internet in your nation?
Anything, with two major exceptions:
1. content which would be illegal to distribute or exhibit, such as CSAM, IP violations, and state secrets
2. content which, by its presence on the internet, harms other devices(malware).

I should explain how our internet domains work, before I forget it. Minoa's main country code TLDs are: .mi, .minoa, .ми and .μι

To reduce the risk of phishing attacks, .mi and .minoa domain names can only use the Latin script, .ми can only use the Cyrillic script, and .μι can only use the Hellenic script.

Is internet access legal, and to what degree?
Nearly one hundred percent of TurtleShroom has a landline. Approximately a quarter of the population has a cell phone. Excluding areas that have not been charted or explored within the jungles, approximately ninety percent of TurtleShroom has 2-G cell phone coverage. Sixty-nine percent of the TurtleShroomian population has some form of personal computer.

TurtleShroom briefly suspended the Internet after its introduction, due to failed infrastructure and an inability to process it. At the time of the initial suspension of the Internet in the 2000's AD, twenty percent of the TurtleShroomian population had a computer with Internet access.

As it stands today, the Internet is accessible by twenty-two percent of the population. The SHADY-Net, which has a Bulletin Board Service (BBS) and a File Transfer Protocol (FPS), is accessible by sixty-six percent of the population that owns a computer. Its prices are vastly lower than the actual Internet.

TurtleShroomian law considers the Internet a public utility, but all Internet access is run by Slowsky ISP, which has exclusive authority. Slowsky ISP is a private, for-profit member cooperative. Each Static IP address with Internet access is counted as a "member" for the purpose of corporate co-op laws. TurtleShroomers with more than one residence cannot vote more than once, however. Despite being a member-owned cooperative, the corporation remains a for-profit enterprise, paying dividends back to its members. In matters of governance, all members of Slowsky ISP have one vote, and elect from among themselves the members of the board.

At the last mile stage (which connects the master lines to actual consumers), TurtleShroom's Internet was originally dial-up. As of 2019 AD, it successfully switched entirely to the faster ISDN standard. The Internet Backbone, meanwhile, uses Ethernet, because TurtleShroomian technology does not have the ability to maintain or use fiber optics to a practical degree.

Why is the internet access legal/illegal?: The arrival of the Internet was inevitable. TurtleShroom created its Internet infrastructure so that all traffic was routed through a manually updated black list.

Does your nation use a world wide web domain?: Yes. The WWW, followed by the address, followed by the domain names, and ending with the top-level domain plan.

What is your nation's internet domain?: .TSP, .TS., .PWN

Does your nation have seperate domain name(s) for seperate purposes?
Slowsky ISP defines all DNS domain names independent of NS ICAAN, and limits them to these: COM, NET, ORG, GOV, EDU, REL (for non-Christian, tax-exempt religions), and PX (for Christian religions). MABELL takes the place of the ARPA domain, governing the master DNS referral system. (Computer scientists still refer to it as ARPA due to cultural osmosis.)

In addition, TS computers recognize all international top-level domains (e.g. US, UK, TV) in NS. However, TS infrastructure refuses to honor the stranger domains, such as "PIZZA" and "PLACE" (which are sponsored domains).

In the era of the suspension of the Internet, Slowsky ISP maintained a domestic intra-net called the Sleek Hyperfast Algorithm of Data Yaply Network (SHADY-Net).

What kinds of content are legal on the internet in your nation?
The Internet being introduced inorganically into TurtleShroom gave the golden opportunity to create a firewall over which all Internet traffic would pass. A black list of websites is maintained by the Board of Censors, whose Internet division encompasses over fifty thousand employees. As a white list would be too restrictive for the Board's mandate, which only allows censorship to remove obscenity such as pornography, but not dissent and political speech, the black list must manually be updated.

Does your nation have a broadcasting service?: Television stations broadcast over the air, using analog antennae. Satellite television exists for the most remote areas.

Does your nation have an internet and/or telecommunications provider?:
Research:[X]
Right before the initial ban on the Internet, a joint plan by the Bell System of TurtleShroom and Slowsky ISP to create an Internet Backbone for master DNS allocation and bulk travel (the "ARPA" equivalent) was undertaken, using six universities as relay points. However, only two were connected before the Internet was shuttered. After the reintroduction of the Internet, the project was resumed, and was completed in early 2023 AD.

Journalism:[X]
Internet websites for news are seen as archives, not sources. In order to supplement Microfiche, libraries and newspapers would upload their entries there. In addition, News Groups are extremely popular. Most TurtleShroomers get their news from the radio and printed news media.

Market activity:[]
Financial reports on the Internet functionally do not exist. Most market activity is reported on the radio and by the television, as well as dedicated financial publications.

Entertainment (eg. streaming and broadcasts):[X]
Streaming is an unusual business in TurtleShroom. Due to the absence of intense bandwidth that would properly live-stream a video game in progress, and due to the fact that a long stream of a video would be gigabytes worth of data on an ISDN connection... most streamers use a VCR to capture the screen and the streamer's voice, and then mail out the VHS tapes in bulk. A single VHS tape costs about one Skillet per tape ($0.25 N/USD), and shipping costs less than that in most situations, making streaming a potential money maker for those willing to take the time to mail out all the postage.

Videogames (downloading/uploading/sharing): [X]
TurtleShroomian computer gaming largely uses the SHADY-Net to exchange Mods, saved games, chatting between players, and custom content. As the SHADY-Net both allows for BBS and FTP protocols, using it as an Internet Relay Chat system was a no-brainer. This has an added bonus that TurtleShroomers who cannot afford the Internet can still afford to share and download Mods.

Online multiplayer games (MMOs, party games, etc.):[X]
TurtleShroomian online multiplayer games, over the Internet, often require priority traffic and thus costs extra. Routing it with general Internet traffic would cause latency to the point of inoperability. Therefore, the usual idea of a multiplayer game is multiple TurtleShroomers physically present in one building. LAN parties are popular in cities.

Communication (outside of social media. Examples include VOIP and text chat):[X]
TurtleShroom uses twisted-pair, analog copper cables for telephone connections until it reaches the actual call centers, where it is routed through an automated digital switchboard that does not have a manual switchboard operator. Therefore, Voice Over Internet Protocol does not exist. TurtleShroomers seeking instant messaging posts on SHADY-Net BBS boards, News Groups, Internet Relay Chat chat rooms, and forums.

Social media:[]
No. While it exists, it is not popular. Social media can only be accessed by a desktop computer.

Is internet acess legal? and to what degree?: As a product of the internet, the web citadel holds internet access to be a fundamental right, written into its constitution.
Why is the internet acess legal/illegal?: A lot of the citadelian economy revolves around internet usage, as the national currency is effectively how many views your page gets online.
Does your nation use a world wide web domain?: Yes. (www dot site name dot domain / subpage / subpage ect.)
What is your nation's internet domain?: The Web Citadel does not have one. Most sites tend to gravitate towards using .net or .com, but it's possible to have basically whatever you want as your domain.
Does your nation have seperate domain name(s) for seperate purposes?: The different domains usually signify how many people own a site. if it's one person, they use .net. if it's a small group of people, .com is used and larger businesses use .org.
What kinds of content are legal on the internet in your nation? In theory, all of it. In practice, posting content widely considered as morally reprehensible will likely lead to your site getting taken down forcefully by other citadelians.
Does your nation have a broadcasting service?: No, most news is relayed by independent blogs.
Does your nation have an internet and/or telecommunications provider?: Yes, CitaLink, which is run by the government.
