Come out, the WA has passed a resolution. Actions will be taken to bring your nation into compliance.

This isn't... a tradition or anything, and is technically illegal, but if this is a family tradition, then it's okay.

Since I can't even write good lore for my nation, I decided to make OP's questions a template.

Kidnapping of any kind is illegal, including spousal kidnapping. There isn't a tradition in Rhodevus of spousal kidnapping, so there are no modern variants of it that might play up the cultures and traditions of it, even while taking away its meaning. The closest Rhodeve equivalent would be 'spousal conquest', which is more like a fight, but even that is consensual and hasn't truly been practiced in a few hundred years.

It used to be a tradition but done for the purposes of not forsaking one's household spirits (Lares)

Though many variants and traditions exist, sometimes both spouses would be abducted by other family and taken to a sacred grove or temple right before the wedding, though this has more or less died out, with new engagement rites to appease one's family's household spirits suggesting that marriage is a unification of families rather than a family losing a son or daughter or child.

It's not necessarily illegal but forced abduction otherwise is illegal, some aspects of the tradition exist but have been more or less your partner's family inviting you over and strongly encouraging you come, sometimes they may throw a surprise (for the people to be wedded) prenuptial party.

In many other parts it was never a tradition as it was mostly limited to the Italic and Hellenic cultural sphere. German Auzkhians have never had this tradition.

In Hatterleigh we do not bridenap anymore. But weddings sometimes have a sort of ceremonial ritual which traces back to the days of bridenapping.

Fderation of Equai or its ancestral people never had this sort of a tradition, and even if there was one today that would be highly illegal. Federation of Equai punishes every kind of kidnapping, which includes spousal kidnapping as well.

Bride kidnapping is illegal, a woman cannot be married if she objects (though silence is usually considered indicative of consent during the marriage of a virgin).

Kidnapping a Muslim woman (or any woman in peacetime) would result in, at the very least, amputation.

If they can prove rape, the punishment is execution which is carried out by guillotine in rape or child abuse cases regardless of the social status of the accused (usually military men sentenced to death are executed by firing squad whilst royals are beheaded with a sword by an expert).

Kidnapping someone against their will is a serious offence in Vallermoore, even if it is to marry them, and can get the perp several years in prison.

Let's just say that kidnapping of any kind is considered a crime within Jocostka. People have the right to object against a marriage, and marriage is something that people can choose to do if they develop an actual romantic-relationship with the other person(s) in question. Both (or all) people must consent to the marriage if they choose to marry. People may choose to not get married and stay single.

Bride kidnappings have a long history in Welskerland, but it is no longer legal. However, there are ceremonial 'kidnappings' as part of the wedding ceremony. This involves the bride being brought to the altar while bound and gagged.

This nation does reflect my IRL views unless something is more interesting to differ from what I believe otherwise. For example, Welskerland is a constitutional monarchy, while I prefer a republic IRL.
