Base black background: The darkness of a life without God
The blue in the background: the background has been turned blue by the star at the top. The blue color represents freedom in this case. The subtle rainbow schematic within the blue represents God’s promise to Noah to never flood the earth again.
the star: is intentionally quasi-cross shaped and represents Christianity and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. The star represents God and his Light. It shines over the black void of separation and turns it blue instead representing freedom and a relationship with God. The freedom refers not only to the fact that we have been freed from the Law and from sin, but that we were freed from the tyrannical regime that ruled over us in the former nation, which committed atrocities and genocide that slaughtered a third of the population of the former nation.
The fist is representative of the people of Libertas in Lumine Christi. It is blood colored to refer to the blood of those who were killed in the genocide as well as those who were killed fighting the evil tyranny.
The broken chain held by the fist also represents freedom, again both freedom from sin and the tyranny of the regime of the former nation.
The sword represents the war of the spiritual world. It is blue which symbolizes the Word of God. It is a literal depiction of the Sword of the Spirit.
The gun represents the war of the physical world. Its color, gold, symbolizes compassion, courage, and wisdom. It is an AK-74, which may seem odd to those who study our nation's history, since those were the weapons of our oppressors. However, one must understand that these guns were so common that they also became a popular weapon of choice amongst freedom fighters and other resistance factions that were trying to take down the communist regime. Thus, it became not a symbol of the tyranny, but a symbol of hope and of that innate spirit of humanity that longs for freedom and for better days to come..

Fleur-de-lis - The three fleurs-de-lis are officially intended to symbolise Île-d'Aiko, Île-de-Saun, and Île-de-Boullién, the three states of Aikoland. However, they are also considered to symbolise the Catholic heritage of our nation and people. (A popular misconception is that they also symbolise the monarchy, as our nation's coat of arms also depicts three fleurs-de-lis on it, but the ones depicted on the coat of arms are in a different arrangement than on the flag, having two smaller ones on top and a larger one at the bottom rather than one large one at the top and two smaller ones on the bottom)

Our flag represents the dreams of all those who have worked so hard to build the Dyrrhonian Isles. The unicorns symbolize graceful power. The rising sun with a grey sky and brown flag represents our land's natural glory. The reflection of the sun on the land represents our drive for progress.

White: The space between pink and green, representing the union of the two sides in one country and the broader union of cultures.
