Police brutality is rare in Minoa and when it happens it can upend the leadership of the affected police force.

Sadly, there is a tiny minority of people who think the First Amendment of the United States applies to Minoa, when in fact it is the European Convention of Human Rights that applies to Minoa.

Thankfully, it is easy to tell because nearly all cases of cop-baiting are linked to the so-called Freemen on the Land movement.

Although citizens have the right to observe certain interactions with police, if officers tell a citizen to leave or stop their "copwatching" activities the citizen must comply with their orders. Often people can become a nuisance to police activities and must be told to leave a scene, and if they do not they may face their own criminal charges for interfering. Activist groups who harass our police officers are also not tolerated by the public like in some other countries. This may be because our nation is desperately fighting back against a rise in crime, so police officers are perceived as heroes in communities struggling with violence and theft.

Legal and mandated, in fact. Police in the United Empire are required to wear cameras at all times while on duty, and must make the recordings available on request for no charge.

Copwatching is legal but is rare, as national legislation mandates that cops have body cameras on and recording at all times, which effectively serves as "copwatching" to the eyes of many. Instances of misconduct are caught by the body cameras and dealt with accordingly.

Legal, but not common. The Cascadian Government has laws ensuring that police who commit brutalities get their punishment and tries to minimize Police brutality in the first place with more serious police training.

Copwatching is not illegal. If you don't interfere with police action.

Police is officially under oversight by the National Assembly and the citezen's defender office. And, internally by internal affairs.
Press can also talk on reported police abuses.

Copwatching is legal but regulated in the Entity. It has two activities, police tracking and police reviewing.
  • Police tracking is done by trained volunteer monitors sponsored by civil society organisations. Volunteers follow police activities in real time across the city. Monitors do this by tailing police officers on foot, by drone, social media, geo-location or satellite imagery. Prospective trackers are trained in forensics, self-defence and human rights law. They also have to clear a background check before volunteering.
  • Police reviewing is done by civil society organisations, news organisations and concerned citizens. They review data from police operations such as body-cam videos, o-plan papers, witness statements and press releases. Once the police operation is reviewed, any of them can publish their findings to the city's media services. The government is required by law to read findings and initiate actions based on these.

Copwatching is illegal in Floofybit. Cops may only be watched by registered managers, just many other jobs may only be watched by registered managers. You may not constantly watch cops and review them, just like you do not snoop into a office building and watch them work.

Copwatching is theoretically legal but not common in Montadia, largely because it is not advisable to be in areas with a heavy police presence. Crime is a bit of a problem and driven by economic inequality; the places where copwatching could occur are not the kind of places you'd want to linger for too long.

In all cantons copwatching is legal, and is considered a way to avoid abuse of power by official. For Alingan people in general all authority must be questioned by the single citizen, because unchecked power end always an abuse

Filming law enforcement was found to be constitutionally protected under article 11 in Gernæ v. Frêthâda in a 11-2 vote by the constitutional court.

Furthermore all law enforcement officers are required to wear cameras per a decision by the Office of Law Enforcement Regulation. Such cameras can not be turned off by the officers themselves, are to remain on for an entire shift, and all departments are required to submit all footage to the National Police Footage Database and to Civilian Oversight Committees if they exist.

All communities are allowed to form Civilian Oversight Committees to serve as oversight of the law enforcement agency or they can completely take control of law enforcement by setting up a Community Police force

Copwatching is both legal and encouraged in Aldina, as it is considered a useful method for maintaining police accountability. While police in Aldina are held to high standards of competence and discipline, extra eyes never hurt. Many older Aldish remember the depredations of the Imperial Federation's police forces in the months leading up to the 1935 socialist revolution; without high standards for accountability, we're back to the bad old days.

Copwatching is legal in Grussland and some activist groups encourage it. It is more common in communities known to be a bit... rough... which tend to have more cop watching by defualt: everyone has a cellphone and many folks can't resist taking a video or picture of whatever is going down. Caution is recommended though, as some police activities might be sensitive and bystanders trying to get pictures or video could find themselves a little too close to the action (and arrested)

Doesn't represent my views. Mostly me asking... what if East Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc had not gone down the neo-con crash capitalist route, and instituted people-oriented reforms instead?

Copwatching in Alpinumtia is legal, as in there are no legislations specifically outlawing it. However, it is rare. The officers operating under the National Police Agency under the Ministry of Internal Security are often highly competent and professional, so few journalists and activists bother with such. On the contrary, the Armed Police under the Army (yes, in Alpinumtia, military forces are permitted to participate in law-enforcement) is notorious for its heavy-handed approaches. For example, while the NPA might deploy uniformed rookies to issue fines for a loud party, the AP will send in a full squad of riot officers before clearing the house in question with tear gas. That is to say, the AP has gained considerable notoriety such that any reports on their misconduct during law enforcements is simply restating a fact commonly accepted by most Alpinumtians.
