Celican Lahema Stew:A spicy seafood stew. This stew is mainly made with mixed white fish, usually whatever's in season, as this dish was originally a grassroots dish for poor fishermen. The fish is marinaded for an hour in Cebuainan sauce, then cooked in a large pot. Clams, mussels, lotus roots, rice noodles and mixed vegetables are then added to the pot with the fish, and spiced with star anise, chili, soy sauce and vinegar. Usually, this dish is served with firm yet thin wheat-flour 'pancakes'.
