Please describe how your country deals with theocratic nations in the international community when it comes to matters of trade, commerce, industry, and finance. It depends on how oppressive the government is. If they rule fairly, then nothing will happen. But if the people are oppresed, then there will be heavy embargoes.

Please describe how your country deals with theocratic nations in the international community when it comes to matters of sovereignty, war, peace, foreign policy, and world projects. Alkmaaria will openly assist any rebellion or nation opposing a theocratic government.

1) What does your country's government think of theocracy? A backwards, irrational and reactionary system completely detached from the material needs of society.
2) What does your country's people think of theocracy? As above, albeit to a lesser extent.
3) What percentage of your country's general population is religious? Census data doesn't track religious belief, but it is likely below 10%.
4) Is religiousness in your country growing, declining, or stagnated? Religious belief has been on the decline more or less since the Revolution.

(Economic Policy - Open Response)
Please describe how your country deals with theocratic nations in the international community when it comes to matters of trade, commerce, industry, and finance. As a rule, Vesperia prefers not to trade with other nations at all, but while it holds theocracy in contempt it is not above engaging in trade provided that the theocratic nation has something Vesperia needs.

(Diplomacy - Open Response)
Please describe how your country deals with theocratic nations in the international community when it comes to matters of sovereignty, war, peace, foreign policy, and world projects. As above, Vesperia generally prefers to ignore them, but if it does get involved it unlikely to be on friendly terms. It certainly will not provide diplomatic support to any theocratic governments.

(History - Open Response)
1) When did your country first become theocratic?
TurtleShroom is not actually theocratic in the sense that the Church has temporal power over the nation, but the Constitution has said, since 1796 AD, that TurtleShroom exists as a polity to "further the goals of Christendom". The First Constitution, in force until 2015 AD (de facto) and 2019 AD (de jure) was created by an all-human synod of ecumenical clergymen. The second Constitution was conducted by a far wider group of belligerant Cliques and their warlords.

2) Why did your country become theocratic in the first place?
The Church has long gained immense land and wealth in TurtleShroom. Outsized power is wielded by orthodox/mainstream thinking Christian denominations of all stripes.

3) Has the power of your country's main religious governing body increased, decreased, of stayed about the same in the last 20 years? Increased, as of the second Constitution.

4) What has been the most threatening or ongoing kind of resistance against the theocratic establishment, if there even has been any? The Marxists that started the Civil War. Ironically, they were theocratic as well.

(Modern Trends - Open Response)
1) On a scale of 1-10, how lenient or controlling is the current main religious authority toward the general populace overall? 9

2) On a scale of 1-10, how supportive or opposed is the country's general population toward the current main religious authority overall? 7

3) Does your younger population (12-39) overall view religious governance positively, neutrally, or negatively? Positively

4) Does your older population (40+) overall view religious governance positively, neutrally, or negatively? Overwhelmingly ositively

5) On a scale of 1-10, how important does the average citizen personally view the religion of the current main religious authority? 7 (unbelievers disagree)

6) Has religious influence overall in the country's society been increasing, decreasing, or staying relatively unchanged? Christianity has given some way to other religions, both pagan and foreign, and these have gained de facto power among their parishoners.

7) How often does the average citizen set aside time for spirituality? Unless the citizen is Deist or Atheist, they will on average engage in some sort of religious act (prayer, worship, meditating, reading holy texts, rituals and rites, incense burning, etc.) at least once a day.

8) How often does the average citizen practice the official religion? A majority of TurtleShroomers practicing an orthodox, mainstream denomination of Christianity are counted as "churched", meaning they attend at least one corporate worship service every six weeks.

2) Does your country's religious authority work directly in cooperation with the political system? Yes, to the point that clergy and congregations can endorse politicians.

3) Is the head of state in charge over the religious authority's administration? No, the Constitution guarantees its own

4) Does your country's religious authority have its own police agencies, courts, criminal justice system, or educational institutions? The Church does not have police, courts, or a criminal justice system independent of TS unless the jurisdiction is a designated Prince-Bishopric. However, all faiths have their own schooling systems and enterprises.

5) Does your country's religious authority have its own banks, hospitals, military forces, independent territories, or security? If so, to what extent? Yes, yes, no, yes, no. Prince-Bishoprics are the only temporal theocracies in TurtleShroom, and these are still subject to the Constitution.

6) Are your country's religious authority's leaders and subservient staffers able to resign at any time? Yes.

(Legality IV - Open Response)

1) Can anyone lawfully challenge any ruling or decision made by your country's religious authority? Yes.

(History - Open Response)
1) When did your country first become theocratic?

When it was founded in 2152.

2) Why did your country become theocratic in the first place?

To appease the growing Hecklerist plurality, the High Priest of the already existing Hecklerist Interdenominational Church became the Head of State as a legally powerless moral figurehead. While not a lot of the population was happy about this change, wars with larger powers set aside the difference long enough for most people to accept the position.

3) Has the power of your country's main religious governing body increased, decreased, of stayed about the same in the last 20 years?

Stayed about the same, though this is mostly because the position is almost entirely powerless outside of diplomatic and religious affairs.

4) What has been the most threatening or ongoing kind of resistance against the theocratic establishment, if there even has been any?

The most dangerous threat has been other religions. The state religion is only actively followed by about 42% of the population, and as such, other religions like the Catholic Church, the Ahmadiyya, Rahikda, Neo-Chikziuc, and Drawles faiths have historically rivaled it.

(Modern Trends - Open Response)
1) On a scale of 1-10, how lenient or controlling is the current main religious authority toward the general populace overall? 1, mostly as the current authority has no legal control over their own church - let alone the secular people.

2) On a scale of 1-10, how supportive or opposed is the country's general population toward the current main religious authority overall? 5, while there is a large plurality of people who actively believe in the Church, the majority of the population either doesn't care or does not like the theocratic state of affairs.
3) Does your younger population (12-39) overall view religious governance positively, neutrally, or negatively? Neutral-leaning-positive. Surprisingly enough, younger people tend to be more religious on average as the Holy Federation's physical and information infrastructure improves.

4) Does your older population (40+) overall view religious governance positively, neutrally, or negatively? Neutral-leaning-negative, mostly as older generations tend to prefer their traditional faiths rather than these new ones.

5) On a scale of 1-10, how important does the average citizen personally view the religion of the current main religious authority? 7, the plurality of the population is Hecklerist and most people recognize the sway the High Priest can have over the Hecklerist population.

6) Has religious influence overall in the country's society been increasing, decreasing, or staying relatively unchanged? Relatively unchanged, but that's because the religious population is already a monstrously high 94.78% - with about 76.4% of the population being very religious.

7) How often does the average citizen set aside time for spirituality?

Heavily dependent on the religion. Some religions only have occasional ceremonies while others demand an hour-or-so out of the day specifically worship their God. However, the average person spends about 4-6 hours a week in religious activities - both private and public.

8) How often does the average citizen practice the official religion?

By a slim margin of error, only about 45-50 minutes a week. But, as previously stated, the majority of the population does not follow the state religion. As such, this does not fully reflect the Hecklerists who often spend 8 hours a week in religious activities such as praying, going to church, bible study, etc.

[X] - None of these are applicable due to the high amounts of autonomy given to planets. The only real "interplanetary" laws that exist are ones on drug/human trafficking, assault/murder, and fraud/treason.
[]

(Legality II - Open Response)
1) What are the possible punishments in your country for committing any of the acts as marked above?

Treason and "Interplanetary" Human Trafficking are both met with death, a concession given to the Ahkmenites when the nation was being founded. However, otherwise it is usually directed to planetary authorities unless the crime involves government officials.

2) Does your country's religious authority work directly in cooperation with the political system?

No

3) Is the head of state in charge over the religious authority's administration?

Legally no. The Hecklerist Interdenominational Church is less of a singular body and more of an alliance of differing Churches. Really, the only reason to become a Priest of the church is branding, autonomy, networking, and being able to vote for the High Priest.

4) Does your country's religious authority have its own police agencies, courts, criminal justice system, or educational institutions?

Only educational institutions and they're typically run privately by individual churches or religious orders.

5) Does your country's religious authority have its own banks, hospitals, military forces, independent territories, or security? If so, to what extent?

Only hospitals, but again, are typically run privately by individual churches or religious orders.

6) Are your country's religious authority's leaders and subservient staffers able to resign at any time?

Yes

7) How long are your country's religious authority's leaders and subservient staffers allowed to serve in their positions?

Until death, resignation, or forced abdication.

8) What are the qualifications for service in your country's main religious authority?

Be a registered priest of the Hecklerist Interdenominational Church.

(Legality III - Open Response)
1) May women hold positions within your country's religious authority?

Yes

2) May foreigners (noncitizens) hold positions within your country's religious authority?

Theoretically, yes. But the consequences of doing so would probably rock the political foundations of both the Holy Federation of Stars and their home region. As such, they are usually voted out pretty early.

3) May underage children or teenagers hold positions within your country's religious authority?

No, Registered Priests must be 18 or older, and as such, they are disqualified.

4) May religious minorities hold positions within your country's religious authority?

By the nature of the Church, yes. Though it depends on how you define "religious minority," as factionalism is heavy in the Church. However, outsiders may not hold religious positions. But they may hold secular positions such as diplomats.

5) May homosexuals and other sexual minorities hold positions within your country's religious authority?

Yes

6) May racialand/or ethnic minorities hold positions within your country's religious authority?

Yes

7) May naturalized citizens hold positions within your country's religious authority?

Yes

8) May humanoid AI beings hold positions within your country's religious authority?

Theoretically yes, but this has never happened and is unlikely to happen within the next century-or-so due to the low amount of Hecklerist AIs.

(Legality IV - Open Response)
1) Can anyone lawfully challenge any ruling or decision made by your country's religious authority?

Yes, but this is due to the lack of authority the High Priest hold.

2) Are other religions allowed to be practiced in your country?

Yes, in fact, non-Hecklerists make up the majority of the population.

3) Can your country's religious authority issue search warrants or order performances of search-and-seizure without a warrant?

No

4) Must all marriages and/or divorces be approved by your country's religious authority?

No

5) Must all criminal cases be overseen by your country's religious authority?

No

(Everyday Affairs - Open Response)
Please describe what an average day is like in your country for your country's legal citizens.

Due to the high amount of variety between planets and regions, this is a hard question. So I am not going to answer it now, but might edit to include it later.

[b](Views of Other Nations and Their Societies - Open Response)

Please describe how your country's general public, government, and religious authorities see the world around them, what they think of secular or antireligionist nations and people, and how foreign affairs are conducted.

The Holy Federation of Stars, having faced frequent invasions in its past, has become a paranoid mess of a state. It views most nations with some suspicion due to being totally alien, even by their standards, but still maintains extensive diplomatic relations with its neighbors barring a few. These are mostly to make sure that its neighbors don't ally to destroy the Holy Federation once-and-for-all, as Christianity has become a minor issue for some polities and two nations have historically been rivals with the Holy Federation.

(Social Liberty - Open Response)
1) On a scale of 1-10, how free or unfree are your country's people? [1 = Extremely Free, 10 = Not Free, Totally Controlled]

Depends on the region, but averages at about 7.

(Social Liberty II - Open Response)
Please describe to the best of your ability what freedom overall looks like for your country's citizens, summarizing what they can and cannot do, how often they can and cannot do something, where they may go, etc.

While it depends on the planet, only Earth could be considered properly "Liberal." The other 7 planets within the Federation are some degree of authoritarian or conservative by our standards, though how they are so ranges. The Ahkmenites are an oligarchy that suppresses thought to maintain harmony, the Drawsin government is prone to corruption, Snaiog maintains a caste system dependent on a person's abilities, etc. However, in general, so long as a person keeps their head low they can generally do as they please - usually. Things like drugs, sexuality, and non-traditional media, while banned on some planets, are not ruthlessly enforced and can be enjoyed by the majority of the population.

(Ending Section - Open Response)
Is there anything else you would like to detail about your country, your country's people, culture, history, or about your country's religious authorities?

Nope, I have factbooks for that. Though, it is to be noted that the country of the Holy Federation of Stars is highly diverse and filled with multiple cultures and even species with varying perspectives - often literally alien. As such, this should be taken with a grain of salt/

1) What does your country's government think of theocracy? Absolute abhorrence towards any theocratic nation, whether papacy or Islamic. In schooling, especially, theocracy’s are portrayed as hellish, unenlightened and backwards.
2) What does your country's people think of theocracy? Older generations generally have a more neutral view of theocracy. The youths who have so far lived their whole lives under the current state, and seen the immense lifting of its people out of poverty, are often rabidly defensive of the states ideas, so they also view theocracy with abhorrence.
3) What percentage of your country's general population is religious? 95~%

Please describe how your country deals with theocratic nations in the international community when it comes to matters of sovereignty, war, peace, foreign policy, and world projects. The Malian government, ECOWAS, and the North African states that side with Mali often conflict, embargo, or compete with OPEC nations. (History - Open Response)
1) When did your country first become theocratic?

Divine intervention by the Great Phoenix as a result of a very short, devastating regime only months ago from the Queendom of Valrora, as the Great Phoenix slept in a huge cavern in the northeastern mountains for what seems like a long time.

2) Why did your country become theocratic in the first place?

If it weren't for the surviving colonists who prayed to the Great Phoenix to wake up and free the planet from the Valroran regime, then Planet Rucia would've remained under the Queendom of Valrora's control for an eternity with the only native species being fairies.

3) Has the power of your country's main religious governing body increased, decreased, of stayed about the same in the last 20 years?

It has declined sharply due to many people turning away from swearing oath to the Great Phoenix into mainstream religions, or just became skeptical of what it really meant. All is not lost, though.

4) What has been the most threatening or ongoing kind of resistance against the theocratic establishment, if there even has been any?

There are two but the first is the mainstream, the Great Phoenix has a long-standing current rivalry with an equally powerful deity called the Great Dragon due to having the same capabilities in creating/destroying entire kalpa cycles. The second ongoing issue is the outlawing of worship to a bloodthirsty goddess named Yogori on planet Yogoria, which so far has already been dealt with under public vote.

(Modern Trends - Open Response)
1) On a scale of 1-10, how lenient or controlling is the current main religious authority toward the general populace overall? [1 = Extremely Lenient, Barely Authoritative, 10 = Extremely Controlling, Totally Authoritative]

For ages, it has shifted back and forth in terms of how exactly controlling state religion is, but overall, we're looking into becoming equally lenient and controlling, yet not allowing any future form of secularism, so five.

2) On a scale of 1-10, how supportive or opposed is the country's general population toward the current main religious authority overall? [1 = Mostly Supportive, 10 = Mostly Opposed]

The general populace only dislikes malevolent religions to the point of rooting it out with enough support, but the Great Phoenix religion isn't counted as malevolent. As of current given our lack in supporting the Great Phoenix, the majority of the populace isn't very keen to move forward in perspective, so they view it as a 8.

3) Does your younger population (12-39) overall view religious governance positively, neutrally, or negatively?

Children, young adults, and of course, the Squadron 9 task force of the Rucian Interstellar Space Enforcement as rather very positive to the point of absolutely wanting to support it.

4) Does your older population (40+) overall view religious governance positively, neutrally, or negatively?

The scientific community, some politicians, curators, the middle-aged and elderly are very factual yet open to discussion without resorting to sow discord in the way they view religion within the government, so they are neutral.

5) On a scale of 1-10, how important does the average citizen personally view the religion of the current main religious authority? [1 = Essential, 10 = Unimportant]

At current, it is getting close to becoming more serious, so a 3.

6) Has religious influence overall in the country's society been increasing, decreasing, or staying relatively unchanged?

We're very stagnated, but this will soon change for the better.

7) How often does the average citizen set aside time for spirituality?

According to Ayda's background as far as sources concerned, 5AM and 7PM for 30 minutes each.

8) How often does the average citizen practice the official religion?

Twice daily

(Legality - Fill-in-the-Box)
Your Nation's Constitution and/or Legal System Does/Do Not Allow:

[] Blasphemy
[] Apostasy
[] Adultery
[] Fornication
[] Polygamy/Polyandry
[] Insobriety
[] Homosexuality
[X] (Other)
[X] Due to each of the five planets in Keteria having its own official religion, it is very difficult to efficiently keep track of all policies, thus allowing some form of religious tolerance, as long as each planet's populace in our region worship a benevolent deity
[X] Torture, poaching of protected species, non-consensual murder and mass genocide in any form will not be tolerated

(Legality II - Open Response)
1) What are the possible punishments in your country for committing any of the acts as marked above?

For torture, it is considered a felony type of severity, depending on how long it is and how many victims or other criminals involved, it can be 10-50 years in federal prison. For poaching, it is a federal offense that can lead up to no more than ten years per protected animal killed. Non-consensual murder and mass genocide is a kill-on-sight order from Parliament.

2) Does your country's religious authority work directly in cooperation with the political system?

Religious authority isn't tied to our representative democracy, because we operate in a separation of church and state.

3) Is the head of state in charge over the religious authority's administration?

Yes

4) Does your country's religious authority have its own police agencies, courts, criminal justice system, or educational institutions?

Our religious authority doesn't extend to the Rucian Interstellar Space Enforcement, courts, criminal justice system, or educational institutions.

5) Does your country's religious authority have its own banks, hospitals, military forces, independent territories, or security? If so, to what extent?

Our religious authority doesn't extend to banking, hospitals, the R.I.S.E., provinces/territories, and security whatsoever.

6) Are your country's religious authority's leaders and subservient staffers able to resign at any time?

Yes, and if the general populace thinks of them as unfit to perform their duties.

7) How long are your country's religious authority's leaders and subservient staffers allowed to serve in their positions?

Up to three years maximum, one term per year for High Priest/Priestess. They can still serve for life or stand down if they wish, just that they no longer have that rank to prevent corruption.

8) What are the qualifications for service in your country's main religious authority?

1. A clean background
2. At least 16 years of age with high school diploma and a degree in philanthropy
3. Has served their own religion that conforms to some form of benevolence and forgiveness for at least one year

(Legality III - Open Response)
1) May women hold positions within your country's religious authority?

All genders may hold positions equally

2) May foreigners (noncitizens) hold positions within your country's religious authority?

We allow foreigners to hold positions if they meet the simple requirements stated above.

3) May underage children or teenagers hold positions within your country's religious authority?

For their own safety, we encourage consenting teenagers who have reached 16 years of age their independent ability and willpower to perform religious duties responsibly, as working with supernatural forces can be very dangerous. If, in the event they decide not to, or has not shown good enough faith to practice religion, then they are barred until granted permission from their guardian or foster parent. Mentally disabled teens can face increased risk of exposure to supernatural phenomenon than usual, and thus are barred from doing so.

4) May religious minorities hold positions within your country's religious authority?

We will soon allow religious minority groups into the fold for public worship, if there is enough support, however, they cannot run positions within our religious authority just yet.

5) May homosexuals and other sexual minorities hold positions within your country's religious authority?

We allow homosexuals and other sexual minorities as of current for public worship and can run in our religious authority without discrimination.

6) May racialand/or ethnic minorities hold positions within your country's religious authority?

We allow racial and/or ethnic minorities of any kind who do not display any historical hatred/rivalry to run in our religious authority without discrimination.

7) May naturalized citizens hold positions within your country's religious authority?

We allow naturalized citizens from all walks of life to run in our religious authority without risking revocation of their citizenship.

8) May humanoid AI beings hold positions within your country's religious authority?

We allow humanoid AI beings to run in our religious authority, as they have demonstrated their intellect capacity without effort and exact precision of when to pray and to atone for their sins.

(Legality IV - Open Response)
1) Can anyone lawfully challenge any ruling or decision made by your country's religious authority?

If the general populace believes a deity has outlived its usefulness by having more cons than pros, or the deity outright declares hostility to its own followers, then our Parliament can decide by vote to strip away the right to worship a deity, and can protest.

2) Are other religions allowed to be practiced in your country?

As of current, the Great Phoenix is the only religion we have that can be practiced, but that will soon change.

3) Can your country's religious authority issue search warrants or order performances of search-and-seizure without a warrant?

Our religious authority must grant search warrants by visiting a judge, or any R.I.S.E. officer. Failure to do so will result in relieving of duty and 3 months of jail time.

4) Must all marriages and/or divorces be approved by your country's religious authority?

Marriages and divorces are done at the citizen's own will, not by our religious authority.

5) Must all criminal cases be overseen by your country's religious authority?

All criminal cases are overseen by the courts, not by our religious authority.

(Everyday Affairs - Open Response)
Please describe what an average day is like in your country for your country's legal citizens.

A very pleasant, welcoming experience.

(Views of Other Nations and Their Societies - Open Response)
Please describe how your country's general public, government, and religious authorities see the world around them, what they think of secular or antireligionist nations and people, and how foreign affairs are conducted.

Our general public sees religion as a no-mans-land grey area open for discussion, so too does the government and religious authorities. Although scientific advancement is free to pursue, study, and expand upon, we see secular-leaning and the more non-religious aligned as equally treated. As for foreign policy, we don't spread the Great Phoenix faith without the other regions' consent, unless that region was burnt down in the event of a raid with no possibility of the natives' survival.

(Social Liberty - Open Response)
1) On a scale of 1-10, how free or unfree are your country's people? [1 = Extremely Free, 10 = Not Free, Totally Controlled]
Very liberal, but in the name of safety, it is watered down to 4.

(Social Liberty II - Open Response)
Please describe to the best of your ability what freedom overall looks like for your country's citizens, summarizing what they can and cannot do, how often they can and cannot do something, where they may go, etc.

They can worship almost any faith, travel to other planets and systems wherever universal law permits, and voluntarily attend the bi-annual marathons and religious festivals. What they can't do however is becoming a serial killer with political motives, attempting to recreate historical scenes of graphic violence, vandalism of federal property, start a black market trade of any form, and circumvention of security measures.

(Ending Section - Open Response)
Is there anything else you would like to detail about your country, your country's people, culture, history, or about your country's religious authorities?

We are but one of the seven sacred worlds, we're the seventh and the last. The other six were Lucia, Anderlusia, Latiri, Toria, Suria, and Zenussia. We've been around since humanity forsook a collapsing Earth in the 21st century.

It depends.
In 2028, Germany neighboring with Lechia became a totalitarian fascist theocratic state that attacked Lechia in 2030, starting the Lechitic-German War lasting 12 years. In the meantime, Borzywoj banned any German economic activity in Lechia.
But when it comes, for example, to Iran, Lechia has good economic relations with it.

1) What does your country's government think of theocracy?
It is the official stance of the Commonwealth not to recognise theocratic states as legitimate, as it does not recognise any divine mandate as a legitimate mandate for governance.

2) What does your country's people think of theocracy?
Theocratic regimes are few and far between enough to not frequently dwell in the minds of most Australics. Most would register a general disdain for the idea. Some Catholics and Muslims may trend towards a slightly more neutral stance.

3) What percentage of your country's general population is religious?
43.5% of Australics self-idetified as religious in the last national census. 23% belong to a United Christian Social (UCS) Congregation, 5% identify as another Christian denomination (Catholic, Orthodox, etc...), 5% are of a Dharmic faith (Hindu, Jain, Sikh, Buddhist, or another), 4.5% follow Islam (all sects), another 2% adhere to a folk religion, and the remaining 4% belong to another organised faith (e.g. Judaism, Zoroastrianism).

4) Is religiousness in your country growing, declining, or stagnated?
Religiousness has been in decline for many decades, though each census has registered a smaller decline than the last. The most depreciated religion has been Roman Catholicism, whilst Zoroastrianism has seen a net increase.

Please describe how your country deals with theocratic nations in the international community when it comes to matters of trade, commerce, industry, and finance.
It is official policy for the Commonwealth not to engage in commercial relations with a state that it considers to infringe upon the fundamental rights of the worker, which by definition includes most theocracies.

(Diplomacy - Open Response)
Please describe how your country deals with theocratic nations in the international community when it comes to matters of sovereignty, war, peace, foreign policy, and world projects.
The Commonwealth does not recognise claims of sovereignty by theocratic states due to a perception of inherent illegitimacy regarding theocracies. The Commonwealth historically has had poor relations with the Papacy due to the conviction of clergy for treason for the wilful breach of federal law in favour of religious canon law.
January 27° - The 2025 Federal Election season has begun! Initial three-party preferred polls put the I.S.P. ahead at 37%, followed by the Country Party at 34%, then Labor at 29%.

1) What does your country's government think of theocracy? Theocracy is considered a form of reactionary dictatorship and is to be opposed at every turn.

4) Is religiousness in your country growing, declining, or stagnated? Declined in total, but stagnated

Theocratic nations are not dealt with unless absolutely necessary.

Please describe how your country deals with theocratic nations in the international community when it comes to matters of sovereignty, war, peace, foreign policy, and world projects.
The USSR opposes theocracies and religious dictatorships at every turn, considering them one of the most immoral forms of governance. Not necessarily for the use of religion -- the USSR is officially secular and tolerates religion -- but for the forcing of religion onto citizenry and the oppression that comes with the ideology. The USSR does not recognize theocracy as a legitimate form of government and therefore does not consider itself at war or peace with religious dictatorships such as the Sacrosanct Kix'hola Covenant; which it is currently funding and supplying a civil war by the Kix'hola Socialist People's Army against.

(History - Open Response)
1) When did your country first become (semi) theocratic? The Establishment and Structuring of the Standing Zemsky Sobor (Upper Legislative house) in 1899 included A 30% contingent to represent the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church
2) Why did your country become theocratic in the first place? With the Tide of Constitutionalism sweeping Europe, Vladimir decided that a constitution was necessary, but that most existing examples of constitutions were "too stained by Voltairean atheism," and so specifically decided that the clergy should have a permanent share in the upper house, one that outsized the Noble estate, and was only slightly outsized by the popular estate, in terms of power.
3) Has the power of your country's main religious governing body increased, decreased, of stayed about the same in the last 20 years? Stayed about the same
4) What has been the most threatening or ongoing kind of resistance against the theocratic establishment, if there even has been any? There has not been any

(Modern Trends - Open Response)
1) On a scale of 1-10, how lenient or controlling is the current main religious authority toward the general populace overall? [1 = Extremely Lenient, Barely Authoritative, 10 = Extremely Controlling, Totally Authoritative] 4. It has real sway, and is openly favored over all other faiths in public policy, but it does not seek to force conformity to the religion, and is checked easily in terms of legislative power as they are a minority of one house.
2) On a scale of 1-10, how supportive or opposed is the country's general population toward the current main religious authority overall? [1 = Mostly Supportive, 10 = Mostly Opposed] 2.5
3) Does your younger population (12-39) overall view religious governance positively, neutrally, or negatively? neutrally, by virtue of split opinions
4) Does your older population (40+) overall view religious governance positively, neutrally, or negatively? positively
5) On a scale of 1-10, how important does the average citizen personally view the religion of the current main religious authority? [1 = Essential, 10 = Unimportant] 3
6) Has religious influence overall in the country's society been increasing, decreasing, or staying relatively unchanged? It has stayed relatively unchanged
7) How often does the average citizen set aside time for spirituality? on a daily basis
8) How often does the average citizen practice the official religion? on a daily basis

(Legality - Fill-in-the-Box)
Your Nation's Constitution and/or Legal System Does/Do Not Allow:
(Mark All That Apply with an X.)
[X] Blasphemy (Media publication only, mild to moderate monetary fine)
[] Apostasy
[X] Adultery (automatic unfavorable legal position in event of divorce)
[] Fornication
[X] Polygamy/Polyandry (Moderate prison term)
[] Insobriety
[X] Homosexual ity Activity (mild to moderate Monetary fine)
[X] Idolatry (Specific Pagan Practice, defined as "capturing or keeping a real or imagined divine being within a physical object") (Punishable by moderate prison term)
[X] Gigantomancy (Specific Pagan Practice, defined as "engaging in sexual congress while one or both parties literally or symbolically incarnates a real or imagined divine being") (Minimum 20 years, Maximum Punishable by death)
[]

(Legality II - Open Response)
1) What are the possible punishments in your country for committing any of the acts as marked above? Enumerated above

3) Is the head of state in charge over the religious authority's administration? No
4) Does your country's religious authority have its own police agencies, courts, criminal justice system, or educational institutions? Educational institutions.
5) Does your country's religious authority have its own banks, hospitals, military forces, independent territories, or security? If so, to what extent? They operate some hospitals (open to all patients), and have some monastic microstates that are granted autonomy by Russia
6) Are your country's religious authority's leaders and subservient staffers able to resign at any time? Yes, though it is quite rare.
7) How long are your country's religious authority's leaders and subservient staffers allowed to serve in their positions? For life
8) What are the qualifications for service in your country's main religious authority? The synod technically contains a cross section of all clergy ranks, and of laity, but at its highest levels the requirements to be a bishop is to be a Priest-Monk of appropriate age and repute who is selected to be offered the position by the existing synod.

(Legality III - Open Response)
1) May women hold positions within your country's religious authority? They may have some involvement in lay offices but may not be clergy
2) May foreigners (noncitizens) hold positions within your country's religious authority? Yes, though this is rare particularly now.
3) May underage children or teenagers hold positions within your country's religious authority? No
4) May religious minorities hold positions within your country's religious authority? Absolutely not
5) May homosexuals and other sexual minorities hold positions within your country's religious authority? Theoretically, though only if non-practicing and without desire to change doctrine on issues of sexual morality.

3) Can your country's religious authority issue search warrants or order performances of search-and-seizure without a warrant? no
4) Must all marriages and/or divorces be approved by your country's religious authority? No.
5) Must all criminal cases be overseen by your country's religious authority? No

(Everyday Affairs - Open Response)
Please describe what an average day is like in your country for your country's legal citizens. They wake up, likely (but not all) say their morning prayers at the icon corner, wash up, eat breakfast, go to work, eat lunch, come home, relax for some time, eat dinner, relax a bit more, likely say evening prayers, maybe relax yet a bit more, go to bed.

[b](Views of Other Nations and Their Societies - Open Response)

Please describe how your country's general public, government, and religious authorities see the world around them, what they think of secular or antireligionist nations and people, and how foreign affairs are conducted. Antireligious governments are generally disliked, both for their godlessness and their (usual) communism. Secular states are hit and miss.

(Social Liberty - Open Response)
1) On a scale of 1-10, how free or unfree are your country's people? The quantification of freedom is notoriously difficult to measure based first on the level of distinction recognized between liberty (freedom to live righteously) and license (permission to live by one's own will), as well as by a variety of secondary variant definitions. With recognition of strong distintions between these objects, we would rate ourselves very free (2).

(Social Liberty II - Open Response)
Please describe to the best of your ability what freedom overall looks like for your country's citizens, summarizing what they can and cannot do, how often they can and cannot do something, where they may go, etc.

(Ending Section - Open Response)
Is there anything else you would like to detail about your country, your country's people, culture, history, or about your country's religious authorities?

1) What does your country's government think of theocracy?
The UN views theocracy in the same way it views fascism or other manners of authoritarian governments, it views it as undemocratic and therefor a threat to democracy, it views it as a severe violation of the right to free will, and as such, it is one of the few government types that the UN will not tolerate and will outright destroy even though it is not within it's borders or a core region.
2) What does your country's people think of theocracy?
Core Gaians view it as a relic of the past, something antiquated.
Frontier Gaians come frequently into conflict with religious zealotry, and as such, have a uniquely negative opinion of religious governments and religion in general.
3) What percentage of your country's general population is religious?
It is impossible to calculate percentages due to the sheer size of the UN, however religion as a whole has been on a major decline since the unification of the planet and the expansion outwards.
4) Is religiousness in your country growing, declining, or stagnated?
Declining.

Any non-democratic forces are embargoed by law, trade with such entities is prohibited as is any form of diplomatic interaction, if they are not outright invaded, they are ostracized from the human galactic community.

A United Nations on an Earth where the climate went very wrong very fast but through a miracle humanity actually put up the effort to combat it, and lead to a solarpunk society which believes it has a mission to spread life wherever they possibly can.

1) What does your country's government think of theocracy? They despise theocracy, especially of the Islamist kind. Despite this, the RCAS maintains decent relations with the Hindu nationalist theocracy in India as a bulwark against both the Islamic State and China. The government has fought Christian fundementalist guerillas during the early years of the Third Confederacy.
2) What does your country's people think of theocracy? Same as above. 'Puritanism' especially is despised with the RCAS. Though, traditionally Christian holidays are still widely celebrated. The Republican-dominated fudementalist United States is thoroughly demonized, and Mormon theocrats have plagued the RCAS with a small-scale guerilla campaign for the first few decades of the RCAS's history.
3) What percentage of your country's general population is religious? 10%
4) Is religiousness in your country growing, declining, or stagnated? Declining

(Economic Policy - Open Response)
The RCAS still trades a little with theocracies, especially India. However, they have no trade with the Islamic State, seeing them as enemies of RCAS interests. Still, the RCAS maintains an export-driven economic policy, especially outside of the Occidental Alliance. So, they don't really import goods from outside the West as much as export goods. Essentially, the policy is pragmatic outside of the West.

(Diplomacy - Open Response)
The RCAS and the Occidental Alliance in general mainly is concerned with their own practical interests and don't really care about spreading their ideology beyond the boundaries of what they deem to be 'the white world'. They are not internationalists in any sense of the word. Generally, due to similar interests, they have supported secularist governments over theocratic governments in the Middle East, due to seeing Islamism as a threat to the West. This, ironically, has made the RCAS support the Hindu theocratic India against the Islamic State. During the Spacer War, they had supported the Sikh nationalists revolting against India's colonial rule.

1) What does your country's government think of theocracy?
"While rule through the use of lies, emotion and religious coercion does have a certain utility that could have been successful in some form, it is at risk when a populace becomes too educated, which is beneficial in the long run to advancement and development. It is liable to single points of failure arising from the consciousness of the populace. The Coordinator Government rejects the use of mythology and hearsay to control the populace."
2) What does your country's people think of theocracy?
