Books we've banned are those promoting far-left politics and Anarchism. Books like the Communist Manifesto and things about promoting revolutions.

Several books have been banned by the Immortalist government. While fiction books are mostly spared from censorship (if the author's views align with those of the Immortalist censors), non-fiction is heavily restricted. Philosophy, sociology, and political science books are the most affected by it; religion is also restricted. Books such as The Communist Manifesto, the Quran, and Mein Kampf are banned. As a rule of thumb, any book that portrays Marxism, separatism, racial segregationism and supremacism, "subversion", anarchism, republicanism, and anti-nationalism in a positive light is banned. A few books are not banned but are radically altered to the point it becomes entirely different from what the author had written. Authors such as Karl Marx, George Orwell, Jean-Paul Sartre, Pablo Neruda, and Noam Chomsky are banned by default.

None, our government has a specific goal of ensuring a high literacy rate and educated population, so banning any form of literature would hinder their goal. Controversially, there are many horrific and appalling titles available in our bookstores and libraries that encourage and promote dangerous content and many citizens have BEGGED our government to get rid of certain titles that they personally don't want to read; but our court system will never allow that to happen since it could lead down a slippery slope of censorship, so it has repeatedly stated that NOTHING will be banned regardless of how many requests are made.

The only exception to this rule is privately owned bookstores and libraries, where it's up to the owners and their customers discretion what books may be available for purchase or reading. In public libraries and bookstores in public buildings, however, you can find pretty much any book you want since it's illegal to throw anything out without proper permission.

In our nation, only books specifically encouraging citizens to commit serious (Class A, B, or C) offenses are banned. Books are given the widest possible latitude-- if there is doubt about whether a book truly encourages a crime or is just satire, it is left alone. However, a book containing instructions on how to make, for example, an explosive device, would likely be banned. The penalty for selling banned books is light; however, it almost certainly will lead to further investigation. One exception-- any content depicting the exploitation of children is strictly banned.

However, while book-banning is reserved for the most extreme cases, books, like movies and TV shows, carry a color-coded warning system. Green indicates suitable for most audiences, yellow indicates that something could be offensive (equivalent of "PG-13" rating), orange indicates that content could be offensive and is certainly not suitable for children, red indicates that content is extreme and shocking to most people. Children under 12 cannot purchase orange-rated books or other content without parental permission; those under 16 cannot purchase red-rated books or other content.

Only books that promote or enable serious crime, like a book calling on readers to commit mass shootings against political opponents, or a book with detailed instructions on how to make bombs or heroin, are banned.

Of course, any book that promotes the overthrow or "regime change" of Leader Megatron and/or his government is banned. Any books that promote ideologies, cultures, government forms, etc. that are not in line with the Decepticon Way are banned, as well. Writing, attempting to disseminate, or disseminating (including selling or giving away even a single copy) any such books is punishable by death, typically due to it violating laws against sedition, fomenting rebellion, and similar things - all of which we refer to simply as treason.

Simply owning such a book is not a crime, but that's mostly because if we banned ownership, it'd just motivate everybody to go out and pirate the thing due to the lure of the forbidden. However, we will most definitely consider it to be solid evidence against you if we investigate you for treason and you have one or more such books. Being known to own any such books will get you investigated, too, so you'd better not own anything else, or have done or said anything, that fits the profile of a traitor if we find out about your reading material.

there are no books banned, rather the opposite is encouraged as diversity has been recognized as the best means to prevent undue influence from any one particular direction. censorship of pretty much any kind, we feel is extremely self defeating.

All books that promote the ideologies of communism and socialism are banned because of our nation's strict ban on those ideologies

All pro-LGBT literature is banned.

The Quran and any other Islamic writings are banned.

Any books that depict immoral relations other than LGBT (such as mixed race ones) in a positive one are banned.

The Anarchist Cookbook (“instructions relating to terrorism”) and a handful of works categorised as “obscene” (mostly notably a high proportion of books by the Marquis De Sade).
