Holidays with an asterisk (*) change from year to year due to the use of traditional calendars, and holidays with a caret (^) are replaceable holidays.
  • 1 February - First day of Lunar New Year*
  • 2 February - Second day of Lunar New Year*
  • 15 April - Good Friday
  • 3 May - First day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri*
  • 4 May - Second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri*

Public Holidays in YN

Postby Judea Israelit » Fri Feb 18, 2022 10:10 pm

EASTER (APRIL 9)

This feast commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus. It always takes place on the 9th and is celebrated through religious services taking place in all churches in the country and a national fast that lasts all day and is performed by all citizens over 12 years old. No work on that day.

Feast of Unleavened Bread (APRIL 10 - APRIL 17)
Immediately after the end of Passover, the entire nation takes a full week off work, with the condition that during these 7 days only no Jewish Israeli citizen can eat meat. During the year you can some types, but during that specific week you can't eat any meat, as a way to "purify" the body.

PENTECOSTS - (29 MAY)

Exactly 50 days after Easter, there is a one-day holiday. The Government holds an annual biblical meditation distributed free of charge to all special people for 10 days. Starting from Pentecost for the next 10 days, citizens who seek a collective spiritual revival or renew their relationship with God should read such meditations on the right days and pray overnight individually talking to God about the topic that was read. This feast and practice takes place in honor of the events described in Acts 2, where the disciples prayed for 10 days in search of the Holy Spirit and in the end they were all anointed by the same.

FESTIVAL OF THE TRUMPETS (26 SEPTEMBER)

During that day, the population rests and gathers, each citizen in the center of their city, at the end of the afternoon to worship God hymns and praises of worship until the sky darkens and everyone leaves for their homes when night comes.

Feast of Atonement (OCTOBER 6th - OCTOBER 10th)

For 4 days the nation is out of work and in a state of mourning for the sins committed during the year. On this holiday, most caput executions involving the death penalty for bandits take place. During these 4 days, all churches and synagogues in the country are open and the people usually go to them and pray on their knees collectively in silence for hours confessing their sins to God and crying out for forgiveness.

REDEMPTION FEST (OCTOBER 11 TO OCTOBER 18)

For a week, the Israelit Jewish population rests and is without work in constant celebration (With purity) in celebration of having received God's forgiveness. During this holiday families have the custom of praying together at home in the early hours of the morning.

OFFICIAL MOURNING - OCTOBER 22

On that day, no festival is celebrated or any religious activity is carried out. It is a day of mourning for the country for the people who passed away throughout the year. From relatives, family, acquaintances and loved ones.
On this holiday we do not light candles or pray for the dead, but mourn their death, care for the sick and pray for the living.
Hoping to find the ones we love when Christ returns. The same Messiah, who we have been waiting for so much, and has not yet returned...
