All children would learn Islajnorrian, the native language, from birth unless born into a multi-lingual or immigrant household. Regardless of other languages learned or spoken, a basic grasp of Islajnorrian is essential for life in our society.

All children learn a second language (usually English) through primary and secondary schooling. This is mandatory. Other languages frequently learned at this time include German, French, Spanish and Italian.

If an individual chooses to go on to university or seek out private lessons, nearly all languages are available to learn.

Primary Education
  • Basic Native/local language (mother tongue)
Despite most of Pasundanan people share a common ancestry, each provinces have their own ethnicity and language and as such, children are required to learn at least the basics of their own native language. For example, if a children was born in East Kalimantan province they would learn Dayak language, etc.
  • Basic Pasundanan
Pasundanan language is a constructed language with Indonesian and Filipino as its base. It is the only official language of Pasundan Republic, and is used in almost every aspect of political, economical, social and cultural life. All Pasundans are required to learn and fluent in Pasundanan, and in primary schools they are thought the basic sentences and basic vocabularies of Pasundanan.
  • Basic English
A Pasundani is also required to learn English, the lingua franca of Earth. Although, at this level, it is mainly basic vocabs, greetings and sentences.

Secondary Education
  • Intermediate Local/native language of each province
As they progress to secondary education, a Pasundani is required to learn the intermediate level of their own native language. Most native languages have their own writing system. Although, it is not strictly required to learn it, a Pasundani has to reach the level of "mildly-fluent" in their native language as they graduate from secondary education.
  • Advanced Pasundanan
An advanced Pasundanan is taught in secondary education, mainly its basic sentence structure, and grammar. They are also required to read medium-length narratives and texts that contains scientific, advanced vocabularies.
  • Intermediate English
In secondary education, a Pasundani is required to learn a higher level of English, such as the grammar, more advanced vocabs, sentence structure, etc. They are also required to be able to read short-medium length narratives and texts, as well as write in English.

Tertiary Education
  • Advanced English
In tertiary education, a Pasundani is required to learn the advanced form of English. They learn much more grammars, vocabs, and are required to be fluent in English. Universities in Pasundan Republic that offer courses in English are not required to add English subject into their curriculum.
  • Foreign Language
This is optional, but a Pasundan may learn another foreign language of their choosing.

English and that's it.

We do not teach foreign languages to children in school. If you really wish to learn a foreign tongue, then do it as an adult/have your parents (if they speak one) teach you instead.

Depends on the ethnicity. An anthropomorphic animal would usually learn Animalese, which is an ancient language that anthropomorphics speak (it is also the language of the Animal Crossing Animals). Humans, on the other hand, would learn either Arabic, Persian, or Turkmen. An anthro could technically learn these languages, and a human could learn animalese, but it all varies by province, of which there are 60 in Crossoveria.

Primary Education: Primarily in Noctish. For inhabitants of the Realm who's family language is not Noctish but is native to the Realm, supplementary courses are offered.

-Noctish. Mandatory.
-Local languages. Optional.
-French. Optional.

Secondary Education: The trend continues from above, and adds new options on top.

-Noctish continues to be mandatory.
-French. Mandatory.
-Latin. Optional.
-Frizch. Optional.
-Slavacian. Optional.

Tertiary Education:

At this level of education, learning specific languages is no longer part of the core curriculum (unless one specifically takes a language as their area of study), but students in specific fields are encouraged to learn appropriate foreign languages. The Noctish education system is designed to produce students who are, if not fluent, are at least capable in multiple languages other than Noctish. Inversely, non-Noctish local populations are permitted their own languages, but are required to learn Noctish in order to integrate themselves closely into the Realm.

In the Primary School up to Secondary School, Standard Pirusavian (SP) and English are taught, along with the regional language in respect of which Federated State do they study in:
  • Mervalia: SP (because SP is based on a Mervalian dialect, so teaching Mervalian is considered unnecessary.)
  • Samgurtia: SP and Samgurtian
  • Galennia: SP and Galennian
  • Pecania: SP and Pecanian
  • Puronia: SP and Puronian
  • Mevania: SP and Mevanian
  • Lazmarian: SP and Lazmarxi (Lazmarian native language. Nearly extinct in the 1950s, it is currently under reintroduction by the Ministry of Culture and Education's Lazmarian wing.)

In Tertiary Education, students are taught advanced English and some foreign languages which they could choose (e.g. French, German, Spanish, Russian). There's also an option to study Pirusovic historiolinguistics, where the students are taught the history and language of Pirusovic languages, where they should be fluent to some extent.

English in primary school.

In most secondary schools, one foreign language is required to learn. Choices may vary between what languages schools offer, but French, Dutch, and Italian are the most common ones, if not, the ones that appear in all schools. French is the most popular language chosen to be learned by secondary school students, being 72.8% of Lescaarch students. Italian is a runner-up. With those three being the other national languages of Lescaaris, there's been a surge of schools adding Spanish and Japanese to their chooseable languages.

(To get a general theme-idea, Lescaarch culture is a combination of Dutch, Italian, Belgian, Monégasque, and French cultures.)

Colonial language is a term Cosnicu gives to ant language that is spoken or known of to a point of ubiquity due to the cycles of colonialism and imperialism that occurred from the early 1600s to the late 1800s. The most common languages in this family are English, Spanish, French, Dutch, and Portuguese, but some languages from minor colonial powers like Italian and German are also included.

The language of instruction in school is Jugoslav (Serbo-Croatian). Students also begin to study English in elementary school and a Third Language in Middle school, and continue to study both until graduating high school. The most popular elective languages are

*Romanian: In the provinces of Oltenia and Wallachia, Romanian is the mandated second language of study that begins in Elementary School, in place of English. English is the most popular elective third language in these provinces. The difference in law does make Romanian the most commonly taught language in the country after Jugoslav and English, though.

Italian: Italy is a neighboring country and strong trade partner. Jugoslav and Italian businesses often have strong ties.
Spanish: Spain is connected with Jugoslav Business as well, as well as being a strong power in Europe
Austrian German: Austria is a neighbor, though one of lesser economic strength than Italy
Russian: Russia is a powerful player in Europe, and its similarity to Jugoslav gives it a reputation of being an easy A. That said, it is a bit rarer to see it offered and business applicability is lesser than with above languages.
Koine Greek: A staple of private parochial schools, it is treated like Latin is in many such schools in the west.
Arabic: Typically the only non-European language to be frequently available before college, it was a major language of the former Jugoslav colonial world, Including Magrebia, Egypt, Sudan, and Socotra.

In college, these languages are joined by French, Dutch, Polish, Chinese and Japanese as common language electives for college.

Primary education is provided in the three national languages: French, Japanese, and Hawe'ale (The Polynesian language of indigenous Somiénois-et-Haverasiens).
During primary education, children are taught French in Japanese and Hawe'ale schools, and Japanese at French schools.

Conventional secondary education is provided only in French, though additional language education is provided to remedial students or those with learning disabilities. During this time, most students are provided with the options of English, Mandarin, or Hawe'ale as a third language, with Japanese as a third language commonly being provided as an option in districts with a high indigenous population.

Recently, there has been pressure from indigenous groups to provide increased education in Hawe'ale, such as giving parents the choice to have their children learn Hawe'ale in primary school, and to provide alternatives to French language secondary education.

There is a language requirement for post-secondary education, resulting in many Somiénois-et-Haverasiens being quadri-lingual, though most students opt to continue their education in their third language in order to gain an advanced certification.

Children in Yucatan are primarily taught Spanish, the most spoken language in the nation, throughout their academic life until graduation. Depending on the area, they can also be in bilingual classes where the secondary language is any of the 26 regional Maya languages that are recognized as national languages. This applies from grade 1 (age 6) until grade 12 (age 18). English, though also a national language, is commonly learned as a second or third language from grade 5 (age 10) onwards. Other optional courses in high school include French, Italian and German among several others. High school students are expected, but not required, to be fluent in at least two languages of their choice by the time they graduate.

As such, every Crysukon citizen is expected to be fully bilingual by the time they leave higher education, though additional academic merits are awarded for those who endeavour to gain mastery of more.

It depends on which school board they are enrolled in: the English board, the Chinese board, the Arabic board, or the private board (which is all non-public schools regardless of the language they teach in). A student in the English board would learn English first along with their mother tongue (usually Chinese or Arabic) in addition to other languages they may want to take, and the same goes for students in the Chinese or Arabic boards, they'd learn their boards' language in addition to their mother tongue and other optional languages.

The LSCEs (Lower Secondary Certificate of Education) and the USCEs (Upper Secondary Certificate of Education) have many second and third language options available, however the government prioritizes funding for languages in the following order, and are practically guaranteed to be taught at any of our schools:
1. English
2. Chinese
3. Arabic
4. French
5. Spanish
6. Portuguese
7. Russian
8. German
9. Hindi
10. Cantonese
11. Korean
12. Japanese

The reason for the wide variety of languages is so that Chuying's students can graduate with knowledge of at least 3 or more languages and having studied it for at least 4 years means that they will be able to actually speak it; and therefore will be able to use it as a skill in higher education or the job market, further cementing Chuying's position internationally with the ability to interact with many different countries on the world stage
