I agree wholeheartedly. Elected leadership only makes sense in very limited circumstances. People are likely to elect friends, not the skilled. Holding votes about which mission to launch is just plain foolhardy and stupid.

Ability to mobilize, transport, and deploy in large, effective numbers in little to no time at all; massed infantry assaults, accurate and deadly artillery in large numbers, all around best of the best ground forces including armor; however the down side being our air force and navies are mediocre, and would not be a decisive force against an enemy with an all around better air force/navy.

There are four branches to the Armed Forces of Kreanoltha, each famous for a different quality.

The Navy is the largest funding wise. It's famous for it's massive interstellar warships, the devastating weapons -- in some cases capable of killing a planet, and for having three types of intergalactic warships.

The Marines are next. They're for the most part storm and shock troopers attached to capital warships. They're best known for the largest class of marine we deploy, the Laconian. They've been genetically modified and are capable of using nearly indestructible power armor. This makes them nearly invincible. They're best known for they're ruthless efficiency and brutality.

The Army is only a little behind the marines in funding. They are made up mostly of non-modified soldiers wearing non-power armor. They're known for the ruthless speed and brutality of their advances, often spearheaded by tanks that can fire five ton projectiles at targets as much as six miles away with pin-point accuracy.

The Air Force formerly housed our space fleet until it was reprised by the navy, thus there is some institutional resentment. The air force is the smallest arm of our armed forces in all regards as the navy has absorbed many of its traditional functions. They are known, however, for having some of the most advanced stealth tech in any of our galaxies.

Other than this all of our forces are known for their honor and valor in and out battle.
