Even though we have a few Generals who don't have an airplane as their alt mode, when people think of an army of Decepticons, planes/robots is what usually comes to mind.

A luddite philosophy that certainly runs 100% counter to what we here at the Federation of Soviet Engineers propose for society. We'll let the rest of the world decide whether things SHOULD be replaced by robots, but we hold that everything CAN be replaced by robots (save the basic nature of human intellect and creativity), and that were everything TO be replaced by robots, the world would be a much better place for the humans living here.
That being said, we are a long way from 100% mechanizing and automating our military. Obviously, there is a vast bureau of military intelligence run by humans, and some flesh-and-blood soldiers are required for the few-and-far-between hostage situations within our country, but our engineering corp is attempting to brainstorm and research solutions to the hostage scenio so that it can be eliminated from society as a potential problem, while our programming teams are attempting to develop ever more complex algorithms to displace intelligence positions. Only time will tell when this can be achieved.

Humanity and near-humanity is the world's most effective computer, used properly. We have no desire to replace ourselves with machinery.
