Established by the "National Information Facilitation Act" – or NIFA – in the immediate aftermath of the 2000 Revolution, the Dominion Intelligencer continues to serve today as the nation’s centralized state distributor of television, radio, and print news content to the Veltrian public and the world beyond.
Throughout the initial years of the Sanctified Dominion’s political transition to Unitist governance, the distribution of information to the public about institutional restructuring, mitigation of counter-revolutionary forces, economic developments at home, and reports on international affairs abroad were considered matters of paramount concern for the newly ascendent administration of Consul Arturs Vectirāns. As such, under the provisions set forth by NIFA and the Veltrid Senate, the Dominion Intelligencer was established to serve as the nation's trusted source of reliable information and principled journalism. Drawing together previously existing media organizations operated by the Unitist Party, as well as a 26 privately owned media companies, the Dominion Intelligencer immediately assumed that mantle, and to this day remains the highest rated and most watched news distributor in current operation within the Sanctified Dominion. Internationally, the Dominion Intelligencer is viewed amongst its competitors on the Aslarian continent as a bastion for quality reporting, moral decency, and above all - journalistic integrity. Dominion Intelligencer Board of DirectorsID AdministrationFunded primarily through tax revenue collected by the Unitist government, the Dominion Intelligencer (DI) officially falls under the administration of the Veltrian State Broadcasting Service – and by extension, the consular Department of National Communications. Led by a 15-member Board of Directors appointed by the Veltrian Consul and confirmed by the Apostolic Standing Committee, the Dominion Intelligencer’s day-to-day management generally falls to its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who is elected internally to the post by the board. Serving a term of five years, the CEO is subject to a “performance review” by the board after the end of each term. No limit exists on the number of terms a single person may serve – However, the acting CEO may be removed at any time by a two-thirds consensus among board members for any reason including, but not limited to, indictment on criminal charges, financial negligence, or administrative incompetence.ID HeadquartersThe Juniper Center
in Vilara District, AmlaísIn 2009, the visionary architect and community organizer, Julians Slateris, had a dream to breathe new life into Amlaís' Vilara District. With the help of private donors, the Veltrid Magesterium, and community advocacy groups, a 14 billion Díali (D) fund was established to develop 40 acres of abandoned inner-city land for the construction of a new testament to Veltrian resolve and perseverance – the Juniper Center. Employing over 34,000 workers over the course of four years in construction jobs alone, the Juniper Project was a major boost to Vilara's economic vitality and spirit. Inspired by the tremendous success of the project, new constriction projects continued on to renovate several of the district’s malls, residential areas, and public parks. In 2011, the newly elected Consul Valik Sindaris visited the district during the traditional Magisterial Spring parade through Amlaís. Speaking from a pulpit in front of the Juniper Center, he declared "...in this time of joy and deep reflection for our body of believers and the nation, it is important we keep the past in perspective, and look hopefully to the future. We are not defined by our history, but rather by the actions we take now – in this time – and by the aspirations and hopes we hold dear to our hearts for the years to come." Within four years, the migration of major business leaders to the district, along with a comprehensive reformation of district law enforcement organization, Vilara jumped from the 16th most prosperous capital district, to the third.
After the 2012 passage of an amended "National News Facilitation Act", it was determined that the Sanctified Dominion's state news agency should occupy the Juniper Center to adequately facilitate its organizational and administrative needs. Since then, the Dominion Intelligencer has proudly called the Juniper Center, and the community of Vilara, its cherished home.
