No. Any scientific theory is outlawed and the concept of scientific research had been systematically destroyed through government efforts. The vast majority of scientists were executed during the Cultural Reaction and virtually every single lab burned down.
Which of the following topics are legal or illegal in your nation?
(O for legal, X for illegal)
[X] Artificial intelligence (AI)

III. Science and Education

Do public libraries exist in your nation? No. They were all burned down during the Cultural Reaction. Not that the enslaved population is even able to read.
Do public museums exist in your nation? No. They were also all burned down. Besides, considering most of the people work sixteen hours a day with no weekend, they don’t have any time for any such heretical acts.

Is science taught in your nation's schools? Is it mandatory or optional? It is illegal. Though most of the population is not allowed to attend school, but for the elite there are strict restrictions against even teh mention of science in education.
How popular are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programs in your nation? Does it vary by gender? They don’t exist.

Is scientific education censored for political or other reasons? It is violently suppressed.

IV. Science and Society

How is science viewed in your nation's society, and why is that? Thanks to propaganda and the purging of every single scientifically minded individual, science is viewed with extreme suspicion. Most people have no clue what it is, and the aristocrats who do are obliged to constantly chastise the concept.
How likely is the average citizen to trust science as opposed to superstition? Not likely in the slightest. Superstition forms the basis of thought, while science is nonexistent.

How common is science denial in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? It is almost entirely ubiquitous thanks to indoctrination.
How common is rejection of medicine (such as "anti-vaxxer" movements) in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Medicine was entirely wiped out, leading to perpetual pestilence which is constantly seen as a ‘blessing’ by the state. Rejection of medicine is universal.
How common is climate-change skepticism in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? The word ‘climate change’ is entirely irrelevant, as the population doesn’t even know the scientific reasoning behind weather.
How common is technophobia in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Technophobia is enforced by the state, and The Overseers are extreme technophobes willing to slaughter millions to purify the nation of decadent technological influence.
VlaRiSsiA’s oldest puppet who was revived out of boredom. NS stats were accused of heresy and burned at the stake.
The Tilminese Federation is a totalitarian fascist theocracy ruled with an iron fist by The Overseers, a fanatical organization of theocratic fundamentalists seeking to eradicate ‘modern degeneracy’. Has scenic architecture, no light pollution, quiet streets and public executions for the smallest crimes. Oh and one in every four Tilminese has died from starvation, disease, execution, forced labor, and genocide ever since the Overseers have taken power but that’s not too important.

How common is science denial in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? It is extremely rare, mostly prevalent among "edgy" teenagers
How common is rejection of medicine (such as "anti-vaxxer" movements) in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Such movements are illegal, and spreading such conspiracy theories warrants a fine
How common is climate-change skepticism in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Same as above, except the penalties are slightly harsher
How common is technophobia in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Even rarer than general science denial, mostly prevalent among isolated rural ethnic minorities
My nation - which is pretty much just a unified Korea with some extra territory - represents my real views. NS stats only broadly correct, trust the factbooks over them. Feel free to call me Q&K, Quartia, or any other nickname.

I. Nation Overview

Name and pretitle: Federal Republic of Estrago
Government type: Federal semi-direct democracy under a multi-party assembly-independent directorial republic
Population (IC): 82.6 million
Technology level:
[] Past Tech (PT)
[X] Modern Tech (MT)
[] Post-Modern Tech (PMT)
[] Future Tech (FT)
[] Fantasy Tech (FanT)

What percentage of your nation's GDP is spent on education? 6.2%
What percentage of the population has completed at least secondary school (or equivalent)? Apart from a few drop-outs, it's pretty much 100%
What percentage of the population is literate in at least one language? 99%

What is your nation's official religion (or largest, if none exists)? Catholicism (largest, non-official)
What percentage of the population identifies as religious? 19%
What percentage of the population regularly attends religious services? 2%

II. Science and Government

Does your nation's government provide funding for scientific research? Yes. Directly through the Estragoneese Research Fund and more inderectly with grants and funding to various universities and research institutes. Additional funds come from cantons and cities.
Does your nation have a government agency dedicated to promoting scientific research? What is it called? Not as such. There is the Federal Institute of Technology - a university - though who kind of fills out this role.

Is scientific research censored for political or other reasons? No
Can scientists freely publish their theories and views without fear of government retribution? Yes
Which of the following topics are legal or illegal in your nation?
(O for legal, X for illegal)
[O] Artificial intelligence (AI)
[O] Astronomy
[O] Cloning (for research purposes only)
[O] Evolution
[O/X] Gender identity (It's not illegal as such, however institutes who teach it are denied federal funding, resulting pretty much in an indirect ban)
[O] Genetic modification (strict rules apply)
[X] In-vitro fertilization (IVF) (for research purposes only)
[O] Sexual orientation
[O] Stem cells
[O] Transgenderism
[O] Transhumanism

III. Science and Education

Do public libraries exist in your nation? Yes
Do public museums exist in your nation? Yes

Is science taught in your nation's schools? Is it mandatory or optional? Yes. Some subjects are mandatory (e.g. biology, chemistry, physics) while other more advanced subjects/courses are optional, or are only taught in higher education, which most people do not attend.
How popular are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programs in your nation? Does it vary by gender? They are doing alright. University graduates and other professionals manage to just about cover the demand in the labour force. They are hugeley more popular with males; at universities only about 10-30% of graduates are women.

Is scientific education censored for political or other reasons? No
Are schools allowed to teach about astronomy (especially heliocentrism)? Yes
Are schools allowed to teach about evolution? Yes
Are schools allowed to teach about sex and reproduction? Yes
Are schools allowed to teach about sexual orientation and gender identity? Yes to sexual orientation; gender identity is not part of the curriculum as the government deems it a destructive nonsense ideology.
Can students or parents opt out of science classes for religious reasons? No

IV. Science and Society

How is science viewed in your nation's society, and why is that? Most people view it neutrally or positively. It is not really in contention with any other system of beliefs (e.g. religion). There is however a growing distrust in and malcontent with academia as a whole, particularly the humanities.
How likely is the average citizen to trust science as opposed to superstition? The overwhelming majority of the population trusts the scientific method. Superstitions still exist, but mostly only for small things, like saluting magpies; superstitious people often face ridicule (of the goodhearted nature, mostly).

How common is science denial in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Science denial is not far spread, insofar as science is defined as a method of figuring out the truth. Many people will however not just accept something as fact just because some scientist says a thing. There is a very lively and healthy culture of debate and a healthy "distrust" in the elites.
How common is rejection of medicine (such as "anti-vaxxer" movements) in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? About 30% of the population is somewhat critical of modern medicine, most prominently about the tendency to presribce unnecessary drugs. Outright rejection is not commonplace, perhaps about 1% of the population, most of those are in the 40-60 age bracket.
How common is climate-change skepticism in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Climate change scepticism is very common. The older the individual the more likely they are to be sceptics. Mostly this scepticism is geared towards proposed or propagated meassures to fight global warming and not the phenomenon as such.
How common is technophobia in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? We don't have any data on technophobia as such. However, there is a large portion of the population that views some aspects of modern day technology with suspicion and unease. Estrago is not a country of early adopters, and some gadgets never really succeded here (e.g. smartwatches).

I. Nation Overview

Name and pretitle: The Free Democratic Republic of Merriwhether
Government type: Constitutional Parliamentary Republic
Population (IC): 149,346,528
Technology level:
[] Past Tech (PT)
[>] Modern Tech (MT)
[<] Post-Modern Tech (PMT)
[] Future Tech (FT)
[] Fantasy Tech (FanT)

What percentage of your nation's GDP is spent on education? 6.8%
What percentage of the population has completed at least secondary school (or equivalent)? Because our education system does not divide schools into advancement grade levels, the best that can be offered in the spirit of the question is the percent of students who completed EDL.08 or higher in all primary skill domains (PSD; mathematics, science, reasoning, history, language and literature, and the arts), which corresponds roughly to the end of curricula characteristic of ISCE scale level 3. This percent is 75.9%.
What percentage of the population is literate in at least one language? 99.9%

What is your nation's official religion (or largest, if none exists)? The largest category of views on religion is Atheist, which encompasses Nones, Antitheists, and Agnostics. The government is secular, and does not promote or give special treatment to religious organizations over secular ones.
What percentage of the population identifies as religious? 34.8%
What percentage of the population regularly attends religious services? 12.6%

II. Science and Government

Does your nation's government provide funding for scientific research? Yes.
Does your nation have a government agency dedicated to promoting scientific research? What is it called?
It does not. Science is regarded as a fundamental means and approach to nearly all functions of government, but no single department is responsible for promoting scientific research in such broad terms.

Is scientific research censored for political or other reasons? No.
Can scientists freely publish their theories and views without fear of government retribution? Yes.
Which of the following topics are legal or illegal in your nation?
(O for legal, X for illegal)
[O] Artificial intelligence (AI)
[O] Astronomy
[O] Cloning*
[O] Evolution
[O] Gender identity
[O] Genetic modification
[O] In-vitro fertilization (IVF)
[O] Sexual orientation
[O] Stem cells
[O] Transgenderism
[O] Transhumanism

* Cloning is highly regulated, and cloning of a human being prohibited for ethical reasons.

III. Science and Education

Do public libraries exist in your nation? Yes.
Do public museums exist in your nation? Yes.

Is science taught in your nation's schools? Is it mandatory or optional?
Science curricula up to EDL.04 (as well as in all primary skill domains, referred to as Core Curricula) is mandatory. There is some flexibility regarding courses that may be completed within EDL.05 - 08, but graduation requires attainment to at least an 08 level in all PSD except the arts, which may be finished at EDL.05.
How popular are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programs in your nation? Does it vary by gender?
STEM is a very common curricular focus, and about three-quarters of all students with little variance by sex or gender tend to specialize in the relevant domains to some extent. Again, the term 'programs' does not necessarily apply to our education system, which makes no mandate besides the aforementioned minimum attainments regarding what a student must complete- their 'program'- in order to graduate. Students are free to be highly specialized with respect to their career interests, since adults are able to apply themselves to courses as they have a mind, and many adults do take free time to complete courses after their graduation and better round out their body of skills and understanding.

Is scientific education censored for political or other reasons? No.
Are schools allowed to teach about astronomy (especially heliocentrism)? Yes.
Are schools allowed to teach about evolution? Yes.
Are schools allowed to teach about sex and reproduction? Yes.
Are schools allowed to teach about sexual orientation and gender identity? Yes.
Can students or parents opt out of science classes for religious reasons?
The minimum attainment requirements must be met, and there is no religious exemption to that. Further, parents may not intervene on the student's behalf; the decisions of the student are respected above all else, and we try to facilitate a direct relationship between students and their learning in which parental biases are minimally coercive. This we believe and defend as part of allowing children to mature and form their own opinions and beliefs.

IV. Science and Society

How is science viewed in your nation's society, and why is that?
Science and its methods are highly integral to Merriwhethran culture. In fact, the civilization of the Akaanailu that formed the cultural heritage of the nation was among the first in which the scientific method was utilized. Over time, rather than being lost or abandoned, it became more widespread and developed. Thus, it's almost universally understood and trusted at present.

How likely is the average citizen to trust science as opposed to superstition?
Citizens generally trust science far more than they believe in superstition. However, most still do have some sort or another of superstitious behavior, and generally presume superstition to arise from unexplained experience rather than bad faith or gullibility.

How common is science denial in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class?
Science denial is rather uncommon across all demographics, but has a slight positive correlation to age, and the elderly are marginally more inclined to it than all younger age groups. The common explanatory presumption for this is that superstition correlates with the amount of life experience, and has a conceivable positive relation to denial of science. The numbers are so few, the differences between consecutive age groups so small in proportion, and so much noise present that research hasn't produced a decisive conclusion on the subject.

How common is rejection of medicine (such as "anti-vaxxer" movements) in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class?
Rejection of medicine, like science denial, is quite uncommon. Its relation to science denial is that of a sub-group; nearly all who reject biomedicine also deny the validity of medical science. Anti-vax and other similar biomedical-skeptical movements have so little presence and organization in Merriwhether that the Ministry of Health and Wellness has consistently reported that their numbers do not represent an electorally significant minority. In other words, the movement is so small that it is not noteworthy and has no potential to sway political discourse at any level of government. It tends to be more common among the very poor and the upper-middle class, with little consistent variance between other demographic categories.

How common is climate-change skepticism in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class?
Skepticism to climate change is regarded as another sub-group of science denial, albeit with a small but distinguishing portion that doesn't directly overlap with denial of science. It is more common than rejection of medicine, but less common than the sum of science denying views, and still considered politically insignificant. It has a somewhat predictable variance by occupation, with individuals in industries related to fossil fuels exhibiting slightly more skepticism than the rest of the population.

How common is technophobia in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class?
Technophobia is slightly more prevalent than science denial. Unlike the other skepticisms and conspiracies here listed, it is not considered a sub-group of science denial, and only overlaps with it in its minor part. It correlates more to the independent phenomena of disillusionment with modernity and the 'soulless rationalism' of advanced and urban society.

I. Nation Overview

Name and pretitle: The Queensdom of Laka Strolistandiler
Government type: Socialist Absolute Monarchy
Population (IC): 28 millions
Technology level: FT, 2070-ish

What percentage of your nation's GDP is spent on education? 18.1
What percentage of the population has completed at least secondary school (or equivalent)? >99.9%
What percentage of the population is literate in at least one language? >99.9%, excluding children who are too young to learn how to read and people who cannot become literate due to disabilities/ developmental disabilities.

What is your nation's official religion (or largest, if none exists)? Glyton
What percentage of the population identifies as religious? 97,54
What percentage of the population regularly attends religious services? 95,4, excluding people who are too young for that/cannot attend due to disabilities, working too far away (beyond the polar circle, in the space, etc) to attend

II. Science and Government

Does your nation's government provide funding for scientific research? Yes, and A LOT.
Does your nation have a government agency dedicated to promoting scientific research? What is it called? Yes, National Science Board. Also state religion conducts some level of scientific research and finances several scientific institutions.

Is scientific research censored for political or other reasons? No, why? You might be challenged to a duel if you really offend someone and they can prove it in court, but you can still reject... (excluding National security)
Can scientists freely publish their theories and views without fear of government retribution? Yes, excluding theories that can be harmful for national security (military research, information that can be used by terrorists and criminals, etc.)
Which of the following topics are legal or illegal in your nation?
(O for legal, X for illegal)
[O] Artificial intelligence (AI), also they are fully recognized as citizens and have equal rights to humans
[O] Astronomy
[O] Cloning, but strictly for spare body parts or with reduced mental capabilities
[O] Evolution
[O] Gender identity
[O] Genetic modification, heavily sponsored by government and almost mandatory.
[O] In-vitro fertilization (IVF), heavily sponsored by government
[O] Sexual orientation, but somewhat opposed by state religion.
[O] Stem cells
[O] Transgenderism, but heavily regulated (they have the same rights as heterosexuals but must undergo FULL procedure, including installation of artificial womb/penis which is fully functional, in some cases brain transplant is used)
[O] Transhumanism, is literally one of the government’s main policies.

III. Science and Education

Do public libraries exist in your nation? Yes, and a lot of them (most of them had gone online but still counts)
Do public museums exist in your nation? Yes, and most of them also conduct scientific research

Is science taught in your nation's schools? Is it mandatory or optional? Yes, it’s mandatory
How popular are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programs in your nation? Does it vary by gender? It’s almost forced down your throat even if you are a humanities student.

Is scientific education censored for political or other reasons? No, excluding military education, education in interests of intelligence agencies, both external and internal, counterintelligence, etc.
Are schools allowed to teach about astronomy (especially heliocentrism)? Yes, and it is mandatory
Are schools allowed to teach about evolution? Yes, and it is mandatory
Are schools allowed to teach about sex and reproduction? Yes, but it is also teached that waiting before the marriage is the best option.
Are schools allowed to teach about sexual orientation and gender identity? Yes, but mostly from a negative standpoint
Can students or parents opt out of science classes for religious reasons? No, illegal, can result in fines and, in severe cases, being stripped of parental rights

IV. Science and Society

How is science viewed in your nation's society, and why is that? Overwhelmingly from a positive standpoint. The state religion heavily relies on scientific advancement, science had made the lives of almost everyone way better, and the fact that the nation is really wealthy (living of another nation’s paycheck for developing weapons for ‘em is sure fun) too. But it mostly comes from a good education.
How likely is the average citizen to trust science as opposed to superstition? Extremely likely.

How common is science denial in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Extremely rare. Sometimes you can see some science-deniers amongst kindergarten students, but it’s just because they don’t understand science very much.
How common is rejection of medicine (such as "anti-vaxxer" movements) in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Anti-vaxxer movement is criminalized and treated like some sort of terrorists. Medicine rejection can and will lead to forced hospitalization, usually due to the fact that you’re more worth to the society alive. Vaccination is, of course mandatory.
How common is climate-change skepticism in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Extremely common. Climate change is usually viewed as not a big threat to the nation- after all, a lot of money can fix anything and who the hell cares ‘bout other countries as long as they pay us money? (And if they stop paying us we will just use our space colonies eh)
How common is technophobia in your nation? Does it vary by age or other demographic class? Extremely rare. You almost can’t live without technology in our society, good luck trying. Also it probably will sooner or later result in personal offense lawsuit from an AI who will challenge you to a duel. Not cool.

II. Science and Government

Does your nation's government provide funding for scientific research? Yes, and A LOT.
Does your nation have a government agency dedicated to promoting scientific research? What is it called? Yes, National Science Board. Also state religion conducts some level of scientific research and finances several scientific institutions.

Extremely likely excluding these themes: relationship and sexual life, religion.

Not cool.
