Gun ownership is legally allowed. Each state has their own licensing program in adherence with federal standards.

There are three kinds of licenses in some states, and some states have one level with additional permits. For example in German-Auzkhia, license A, B, C are the levels. C is standard. B is for pistols and semi-automatic rilfes and shotguns, and A is for owning automatic and machine guns, tanks, and some explosives. Each license requires that you are 18 or older, pass a safety and knowledge test, and background check. Carrying passes can vary by states, some will have the same pass for open and concealed but some offer a difference, even some cases. Theoretically it is not crime to carry without a pass unless you are disturbing the peace or being a nuisance, or in areas that prohibit weapons. It's a patchwork of regulation. Federal regulations are guidelines for state and city governments to determine which laws are best for their jurisdiction.

Most people don't own guns, but those who do are in active or reserve militia, security, hunters, though active duty soldiers don't own their weapons, they are not theirs to keep, though sometimes they are offered to keep them upon discharge or retirement, militia do own their weapons, but they have to provide their own.

However, some people want looser gun regulations, notably the Forum Waffenrecht, which is a German speaking gun rights organization.

And furthermore, some places try to regulate certain magical spells like guns especially those that can be lethal, dark, or violent.

The Order of Disorder is an anarchic nation, but the science council that seized power made an incredibly controversial (and still hotly debated) decision in year 2: Weaponry became a public good.

This made the process of incrementally upgrading personal firearms & military weapons very straightforward as technology produced slightly better guns. Public armories are now everywhere in Disorder asteroid habitats.

However, this has also made weapon upgrading one of the most heavily monitored scientific ventures - because if there is a functional problem with a weapon upon release, that error would be duplicated over and over again. Over half of the Disorder's population participates in subjecting prototype weapons to the most insanely rigorous kinds of testing, to ensure that public weaponry is as failure-proof as possible.

As a result of this, exceptionally high quality military-grade BFG's (and every other class of weapon) are available to the public for free, with very little regulation. Everyone in the Disorder has passed an extensive mind-probing recruitment test, proving that they are low-greed, chaos-loving, cooperative anarchists. A year of compulsory military training upon entry also familiarizes literally everyone with the bare-minimum basics of how to handle BFG's that saw buildings in half.

It doesn't just stop at 'small' arms either. All weaponry, including all military hardware, is available for free public use. If you are combat-qualified on a 97 metric-ton plasma-spewing battlemech, you can take one out for a spin without so much as a second thought. Conveniently, the universe is full of evil non-anarchists to destroy!

Owning a fire-arm in our nation is mostly free because we believe every man has the right to defend himself, this originates back from the civil war in which the people protected themselves from the communist government's forced aggression. Persons 18 and above may be able to purchase a fire-arm of all class (small guns to rocket launchers). But fire-arm safety lessons and license is required to be able to be a legitimate gun owner.

There are no restrictions on white male citizens from owning guns. Women and non-white citizens are banned from owning guns, with no exceptions.

Gun laws in Wochaystein are flexible. Ideally, the legislation would be simply to ensure a society in which gun ownership is not a criminal offense.

The leaders of the Hung Revolution of 1989-1999 mandated that an armed and self-defensive populace makes a strong nation, and for this reason firearms ownership by all citizens between the ages of 18 and 69 is not merely legalized, but made compulsory by the government of the Gachimuchi Rus' State.

Gun control is virtually non-existent, both in law and in practice. Despite that, there have never been any mass shootings, since assault-style firearms are extremely difficult to get—almost all guns in Alzatia are hand-crafted and of the muzzle-loading type. Only the military has any regular access to more powerful weapons (assault rifles, machine guns, rocket launchers, etc.), which are all imported. In addition, they aren't allowed to take these weapons home, so none can enter private hands.

Firearms are divided in short arms, long arms and heavy arms. Each has a separate license and only state endorsed stores can sell guns of any kind. Licenses for short arms are easy to aquire for any citizen and the government even gives small arm training courses for small fees.
Licenses for long arms are given to law enforcement and licensed hunters, heavy arms licenses are for military use or indivuduals given one by royal authorities.

Mevraqi gun laws are generally permissible, with a few major caveats. The primary caveat is the role played by the Mevraqi Revolutionary Guard. Nominally, all firearms owned by civilians may be requisitioned by the MRG in case of an emergency (such as an invasion or civil war). Such an emergency has never happened, but the MRG is charged with overseeing civilian firearms. In addition to maintaining a database of all known firearms and their owners in the country, the MRG also oversees firearm safety courses and operates public armories where any citizen may store their guns and ammo, free of charge. Many of these armories are conveniently located near shooting galleries.

In addition, individuals who are flagged as "likely to cause harm to themselves or others" by the Mevraqi Health Service can have their guns temporarily confiscated.

Within the borders of the Soviet Republic of Stalliongrad it is forbidden for the civilian population to carry weapons in order to guarantee the internal security of the country. Only the police and military forces are authorized to carry weapons.
The only exception is in the event of a national emergency, such as the invasion of the country by foreign armed forces, where state-armed People's Militias are set up.

Thanks to Zhouran's very-liberal gun laws, a citizen can legally own a military-grade fully-automatic assault rifle. In fact, a citizen can also own a fully-functioning heavy machine gun. However, explosives are banned for civilian ownership, and any caliber above heavy machine gun caliber is considered to be a cannon caliber. Since cannons are classed as explosives, such caliber is banned for civilian ownership too.

Because of the nation's very-liberal gun laws that permits civilian ownership of fully-automatic military weapons, sporter weapons do not exist in Zhouran. Foreign weapons such as AR-15s and AK-47s are rarely sold in Zhouran since the nation has a highly-robust firearms industries that produces a wide variety of domestically-made military-grade firearms.

Firearm shooting sports in Zhouran are popular sports with a continuous existence dating back to early 1875. Since then, it has become a popular sport. Firearm shooting sport is traditionally seen as a "soldier's sport" because of its marksmanship and tests of proficiency (accuracy and speed) using a firearm. Indeed, it is normal for local communities in cities and towns to hold a local firearm competition, with competitors ranging from ordinary folks to Zhouranese People's Army servicemen/servicewoman, retired veterans, and paramilitary members of the National Patriotic Guards.

Considering that Zhouran is a several-millennia-old stratocratic civilization with a highly-impassioned warrior culture and fervid martial-ethos, the nation is home to a wide assortment of numerous 100% indigenous made-in-Zhouran firearms. Zhouranese firearms have been designed to be modular due to strong Zhouranese emphasis on adaptability and flexibility for fluid situations. The Zhouranese are aware that in order for soldiers to be in their peak performance, they must have access to the best arsenal possible since weaker weapons can bring down the potential performances of troops in the field.

Throughout the years, different Zhouranese assault rifles and battle rifles have been utilized as 'standard-service weapons', ranging from the Ningjing Type 62 7.62×39mm assault rifle, Ningjing Type 63 7.62×39mm assault rifle & Ningjing Type 62-200 7.62×54mm battle rifle, to the Ningjing Type 75 7.62×39mm assault rifle, Ningjing Type 82 5.45×39mm assault rifle & Ningjing Type 69-200 7.62×54mm battle rifle, to the Ningjing Type 01-100 7.62×39mm assault rifle, Ningjing Type 99-03 5.45×39mm assault rifle & Ningjing Type 77-04 7.62×54mm battle rifle, and the Ningjing Type 04-11 7.62×39mm assault rifle, Ningjing Type 09-100 5.45×39mm assault rifle & Ningjing Type 11 7.62×54mm battle rifle. Other Zhouranese firearms created from past-to-present include the Ningjing Type 66-300 7.62×39mm assault rifle & Ningjing Type 15-100 7.62×39mm assault rifle, Ningjing Type 90 5.45×39mm assault rifle & Ningjing Type 75-15 5.45×39mm assault rifle, Ningjing Type 65-700 7.62×54mm battle rifle & Ningjing Type 72-400 7.62×54mm battle rifle, Ningjing Type 79 7.62×54mm sniper rifle & Ningjing Type 10 7.62×54mm sniper rifle, Ningjing Type 90 9×39mm personal combat rifle & Type 03 9×39mm personal combat rifle, Ningjing Type 77-100 9×19mm submachine gun & Ningjing Type 04 9×19mm submachine gun, Ningjing Type 79 7.62×54mm general-purpose machine gun & Type 06 7.62×54mm general-purpose machine gun, etcetera.

Known widely for being reliability-oriented accuracy-friendly weapons that are fully-capable of operating in the harshest environmental conditions while being maintenance-friendly for troops especially in the battlefield, Zhouranese firearms are built rigorously to Zhouranese standards and are made to last for hundreds of years especially in the most austere situations. Various different rounds used by various Zhouranese firearm types ranging from pistols to assault rifles to battle rifles and ultimately to heavy machine guns are all made from brass casings. As a result, the numerous rounds utilized in Zhouran such as 7.62×39mm, 9×19mm, 5.45×39mm, 7.62×54mm, 12.7×108mm and 14.5×114mm are all built with brass casings due to their higher quality, superior chamber seal and more-malleable nature, thus resulting in reduced blowback into the chamber and the receiver. In comparison, cartridges made in other nations will sometimes or most of the times use cheaper-but-inferior steel casings instead.

Since late 1861, Zhouran has a gun culture that is influenced by the nation's passionate and intense warrior culture, which was created in 7 BC during the birth of the Silin Dynasty, as well as the long tradition of militarism in the nation and the long-standing practice of keeping weapons at home in order to be armed, well-trained and prepared. Firearms are owned for purposes including self-defense, hunting, sport, collecting, and military purposes. Sport-shooting and hunting are popular activities for both gun-owners and non-gun-owners in Zhouran.

Within Zhouranese society there is a strong emphasis towards the idea of soldiers being a 'rifleman'. While handguns are seen as the equivalent to the traditional ayanjiazhan knife/daggers, rifles on the other hand are seen as the as equivalent to the traditional ayanjiamu (one-handed)/ayanjiamujuela (two-handed) swords of ancient and medieval times. As a result, any Zhouranese soldier and gun-owner would treat a rifle the same way a warrior would treat a sword. Within Zhouranese society, an individual is expected be a rifleman if they are highly-proficient in marksmanship, thus one must accurately hit man-sized targets at distances ranging from five-hundred meters to one kilometer with high precision using only the iron-sights of a rifle and achieving a 90% first-round hit. Thus, similar to how ancient and medieval Zhouranese warriors were widely known for their highly-impressive rigorous swordsmanship, Zhouranese riflemen are well-known for being highly-skilled sharpshooters capable of eliminating their foes at extreme distances with extreme accuracy.

Thanks to this strong gun culture that is deep-rooted into the Zhouranese warrior culture, there are about 97.5 guns per 100 residents in Zhouran as of 2020. As a result, the country has one of the highest civilian gun ownership in the world, only second to that of the US. However, in the US, an overwhelming majority of civilian-owned firearms are unregistered firearms and are mainly civilian-oriented in nature. In comparison, every single civilian-owned firearms in Zhouran are fully-registered and are military-grade semi-automatic and fully-automatic firearms, the same firearms used by the Zhouranese People's Army and National Patriotic Guards. An estimate of approximately 278,343,000 firearms are in legal civilian possession in Zhouran, as a result the country has the world's second-highest number of firearms in civilian hands. Meanwhile the Zhouranese People's Army owns an estimate of around 106,500,000 firearms, the largest military-owned stockpile of firearms in the world. The massive number of firearms in Zhouran contributes to the stereotypical image of the hyper-militaristic warmongering barbaric Zhouranese.

With the country having a powerful highly-experienced battle-hardened military that is numerically large and technologically advanced, backed by a massive well-equipped paramilitary force that is capable of rivaling foreign militaries despite being a militia, Zhouran is considered to be the world's most heavily-militarized nation. This extremely-high level of militarization in Zhouran is all due to being a several-millennia-old stratocratic civilization with a highly-impassioned warrior culture and fervid martial-ethos. Around 96% of people in the nation are willing to fight and go to war for their country, the highest out of any nation. Thanks to the martial identity of the Kangyuli Zhouranese, civilian gun-owners in the country own military-grade firearms ranging from something as small as the Type 81 .357 Magnum revolver or Type 85 9×19mm pistol to a Type 01-100 7.62×39mm assault rifle or Type 95-100 5.45×39mm assault rifle and all the way to something as big as weapons such as the Type 89-100 12.7×108mm heavy machine gun or Type 85-200 14.5×114mm heavy machine gun. Any weapon that has a caliber above heavy machine gun caliber is considered a cannon and since cannons fire explosive shells and not bullets, those are regarded as explosives and therefore banned for civilian ownership.

Unlike the civilian gun-owners of other nations including the US, any Zhouranese civilian gun-owners that are not serving or have already served in either the ZPA or NPG are also skilled in professionally-handling military-grade firearms. Shooting ranges are very common across the country, with many of the firearms instructors serving or having served in the ZPA or NPG. Not only that, Zhouranese National Military Sports Associations are found in many towns and cities across the nation, teaching essential combat techniques and offering military training by providing a 73-day long course that teaches citizens over the age of 15 combat techniques and weapons training. As a result, Zhouranese civilian gun-owners are considered to be the most skilled compared to foreign counterparts, and this also includes civilian gun-owners in Zhouran who have not yet served in the ZPA or NPG but still own firearms.

The right to bear arms is enshrined within the second amendment of the constitution. There are some limitations however, making it harder for people to gain access to automatic firearms as well as things like background checks, etc.

Haryan wrote:How are the gun laws in your nation? Flexible or restrictive? How would an ideal legislation on this issue be in your opinion?
My though is that people must be generally free to own guns, but some regulations should be required. I also think that this right must be constitutionally protected.
Here how is the steps to get a gun legally in the Empire of Haryan:
1. Pass a background check, if you have commited serious crimes you may not get the license.
2. Pass a test of relevant laws, handling and first-aid skills.
3. Get a doctor’s note saying you have no mental illness or history of drug abuse.
4. Attend a firearm safety and handling class and pass an exam.
5. You can buy a gun depending on the kind of license you can get. Most people only can get pistols, revolvers and shotguns. Armed forces and police forces personal and reservists and certain kinds of collectors and hunters can buy rifles and ADPs.

Something similar, actually.

Anyone can buy a gun if they have the money. The most common guns are handguns, followed by pistols and then shotguns and rifles. 15 is the minimal age to own one. If you're under 18, you need both a parent present with you during your purchase of arms, as well as a note from a certified psychologist/psychiatrist saying that you aren't mentally ill or anything like that, to signal you'd be a responsible owner. You, after purchasing the gun, would be required to take it to a government-owned shooting range and train with it to pass the state-mandated exam and get the certificate saying that you are allowed to carry it around in public. No certificate? It stays concealed, in your own home. Carrying it around in public and shooting someone, without the certificate, therefore abusing your rights, would double the level of harsh your sentence is.

People with a criminal history of murder (who have been released) aren't allowed to own a gun, and neither are people who have committed manslaughter on any degree (because that signals they would be an irresponsible owner). People convicted of robbery also aren't allowed to carry firearms, as it signals that they might have a future of committing armed robberies.

And yes, law enforcement units are allowed to carry around special kinds of firearms as well. Animal control units are allowed to carry around tranquilizer guns and darts.

Firearms ownership in the Fraternal Commonwealth is legal but regulated. Around one in nine Albic and Eirann citizens own at least one firearm (less than a third of the Sororitous average) and this falls to one in twenty in the Metropolities. Albic law regulates that no individual may own a chain musket, static pistol or other autoloaded weapon. Cyclearms, mostly commonly Cycle pistols are legal to own but not to carry in public or use outside of private property or a registered Firing Club. Self-Cycled Muskets and Shotguns are also legal but again cannot carried in public. Some clubs with special licenses may own autoloaders but there are strict limitations on the storage and acquisition of ammunition. Musket crime, as well as violent crime more generally, is relatively rare in the Fraternal Commonwealth.

The FC is seen traditionally as being a “pro-gun” nation and has a strong tradition of arms manufacture, though pride over this has been on the decline since at least the 1980s

Honorable veterans without felonies (and their wives) are issued a license to own to own, purchase and manufacture any amount of firearms and non-explosive ammunition without limits in regards to action, features, caliber, etc. They also are allowed to cheaply purchase their service weapon at the end of their conscription period as surplus. This class of people remain official militia reservists, and ownership of their own firearms and ammunition is preferable to having to require them all report to the armory for official rearmament. This licensing system exists in a database

Felons, dishonorably discharged, and the unfit (and their wives) are not granted/are stripped of this right.

Zartobania has very strict gun laws ever since it gained independence from the Maxtopian Federation on November 27, 1990. Prior to independence, civilians in Zartobania were allowed to own firearms privately due to Maxtopian liberal gun laws. Following independence, civilians are forbidden to have guns and only military personnel, paramilitary personnel, and far-right "death-squads" aligned with the All-Zartobanian Patriotic Party "United Zartobania" are allowed to own firearms.

In Fostoria, there are two main classes of gun permit which determine the types of guns people can buy and own. There is no concealed carry permit or anything of the sort, everyone who has a gun can carry it where it is not specifically prohibited.

The standard permit covers everything from handguns to most semiautomatic rifles and is easily obtainable at government offices with a background check and mental evaluation. This is obtainable at age 16, all others are at age 18.

The Class II permit allows for ownership of fully automatic and belt-fed weapons as well as concealable automatic pistols and things of that sort in addition. Citizens with this permit can also own armored vehicles as long as they do not have a weapon considered a destructive device on them (i.e. a cannon over 17mm or a grenade launcher). This is given to members of the military automatically or those who go through a proper training course and more rigorous evaluation.

Class III permits are the most difficult to obtain, allowing for the ownership of all war implements outside of nuclear or biological weapons (or chemical in some states). These are only held by licensed, ex-military private military contractors and security personnel and as a result, less than 1,000 Fostorians have them.

Major felons, especially those who commit serious crimes involving firearms, are banned for life from owning them.
