After fufilling these initial requirements, you are interviewed by the National Firearms and Narcotics Enforcement Agency (NFNEA), and a thorough background check is conducted.

After all this, you are granted a licence that must be renewed every 2 years, for a specific weapon-type and caliber.

Even then, there's only a few dozen types of firearms that one can carry, including, mainly:

-Black powder muskets and rifles

Unlicenced possession of a firearm is a National Offence and can carry up to a minimum of 20 years in prison and a $16,000 fine. It is also an offense to attempt to import a firearm without a certificate from Customs and Revenue Department will result in a minimum of 8 years and a $12,000 fine.

Weirdly enough, Firearms regulations for civilian use is extensive in the HGS except smoothbores.
Civilians may own unconcealable smoothbore firearms (Small arms that does not have a rifled barrel such as a homemade hunting shotgun) due to a loophole in the small-arms law.
Civilians are prohibited from owning a rifle and and any conceal-carry weapons without the permission of the Corporate Police Force. To obtain the rights to bear a firearm you must also have a good reason (self-defense is not accepted as a reason, unless if you are a high-profile individual or in an area with a dangerous wildlife) and engage in training. This license will cost you twice the firearm's price per year and is only active for 5 years and the ammunition and the firearm itself must be stored in 2 different concealed place as to not have it stolen and misused by burglars or family members. The weapons allowed (from easiest to hardest to obtain) are:
>Manually-operated rifles (bolt action)
>hunting rifle
>Semi-automatic rifles
>Semi-Automatic pistols

Fully-automatic firearms and other firearms not listed above are PROHIBITED and are only available to the armed forces on duty.
