Since guns are only physical properties, the Backlink Outpost has no official declaration regarding this subject. However, it does allow free speech regarding this subject, in any communication channel where Philosocom manages, as long as there won't be actual incitement with guns on anyone or anything. In other words, the network does not care about whether or not you are armed with functional guns, as long as you do not use the mere mentioning of them to threat anyone.

The keeping and bearing of arms is a time-honored tradition among the Russian Empire's citizens.

Purchase of guns is subject to background check, using Form 7344. Which checks if the prospective buyer

- Is a felon

- Is a draft-dodger

- Has been declared non-compos mentis

- Is a known or admitted user of illegal drugs.

-Is a legal resident or citizen over the age of 17 (manual-action) or 21 (self-loading).

If a person is of age and not of a prohibited class (the first 4 checks), their purchase may go forward at the discretion of the seller.

A direct 100% excise tax (not linked to a separately approved license) is applied to fully automatic firearms.

Explosive ammunition is prohibited

Straw Purchase and Sale to Prohibited Persons are aggressively prosecuted and carry a 15-year minimum prison sentence. Use of a gun to commit a crime is itself a felony worthy of a 10-year addition to the sentence of the main crime. Lying on a form 7344 is perjury.

No centralized national gun registry is kept

In New Bythantan there were many people that had deadly weapons- mostly guns (despite not having a large gun manufacturing industry). However, there was a low gun-related death rates, and that is because of our large efforts to minimize weapon proliferation. Now, although not many people that are heavily weaponized compared to before, the same framework and laws that strictly define gun ownership still applies.

New Bythantan only allows people aged 18 or older to own weapons.

New Bythantan checks the regular purchasing of weapons.

In New Bythantan, we prohibit the private possession of fully automatic weapons, and regulates the possession of semi-automatic weapons and handguns.
- For a person to legally acquire weapons and ammunition requires a weapons license. Weapon licenses can be divided
into specified weapon licenses, e.g. gun licenses. These weapon licenses are only given after: there has been a
background check of the person that has given consent, with an investigation on their criminal record and mental
(health) record, the person has given a legitimate reason to own the specified weapon, and has passed the theory
and practical exam.
- To obtain a gun license, the person also has to practice shooting at least for 6 months in the official 'gun club' of
New Bythantan, and get approved.
- This will result in the person obtaining a license that lasts for 5 years.
- It is also compulsory to keep deadly weapons in safes.

If there is illegal possession of weapons, the maximum penalty a person can be given is 8 years and a fine. Additionally, the weapon is now the owners responsibility. If a person besides the owner uses the owners weapons to commit a crime, not only will the person be punished, the owner will take some responsibility and have their license revoked, and have it added on to their record.

All these rules can possibly lead to a divide where people with more wealth will more likely own weapons, however New Bythantan is working on income equality and eliminating corruption. Additionally, though this lowers the chance of shootings that occur because of lax civilian gun ownership, this does not tackle the problem where (few) shootings have political and terrorist motives, because in essence, New Bythantans law enforcement relies on morality than access to brute force and weaponry. The police are not permitted to carry guns during patrols, and instead carry other detergents such as tasers and pepper spray. They can only access these guns (which are locked in safes within the patrol cars) once the chief of police permits them.

How are the gun laws in your nation?:
To own a gun, a person must be a householder and permanent resident with no felony convictions (or any convictions as an adult for violent misdemeanours) , no communist ideologies and no untreated mental health problems.

In terms of possessing a gun in their home, groups allowed one (other than those who are already allowed to own one) include military personnel who have passed basic training, certain elements of the security industry and authorised government officials responsible for “law enforcement or national security”.

In terms of carrying a gun in the street, this is generally only permitted to agents of the state such as military personnel, police and, in extraordinary cases, secret services personnel.

Flexible or restrictive?:
Roughly average.

Sarzonia has had outright bans of gun ownership several times over the years.

That said, Sarzonian law requires for background checks and an in-depth psychological evaluation for every purchase of a handgun. Anyone who fails to pass either the background checks or the psychological evaluation or both is denied a gun ownership license. If a person passes the evaluations, they must then undergo an 18-week training course which they must pass with a minimum of 85 percent to earn a gun ownership license. Background checks and mental health evaluations are subject to ongoing reviews with mandatory reviews every three years. If a person, be it a relative, friend, co-worker, employer, or anyone else expresses concerns about the license holder, they are subject to a new requirement for background checks/mental health evaluations, etc. but are also required to appear before a magistrate.

Upon successful completion of the background check and mental health evaluation and the training course, the person seeking a gun ownership license must write a notarised, certified letter requesting to own a handgun. This letter cannot be emailed; it must be written and signed. The letter must outline the reasons and provide justification for gun ownership. If this letter results in denial, the decision may be appealed to a magistrate judge within six weeks of receipt of the letter. If the magistrate judge denies the appeal, the would-be gun license owner must wait one calendar year to apply again and must begin the process again.

If someone has been found guilty of domestic violence or is the subject of red flag laws, they are denied the opportunity to apply for gun ownership. There is no appeal of that decision; even the President or the Lieutenant President may not rescind this enforcement action.

Military-grade assault weapons are expressly prohibited for anyone who is not an active duty member of the Sarzonian military or a member of the Home Guard or the Ready Reserve. Anyone who leaves the military must turn in any and all assault weapons upon their departure from the service.

The OSS constitution protects the right of all citizens to own firearms (and any other military hardware), and also protects the rights of civilians to own basic firearms. Further laws protect the right of both citizens and civilians to use weapons in self defense, and in defense of property, or the lives and property of another.

Specifically, Citizens (those who have completed a term of military service), are required to keep their service firearms in their home, and are further allowed to purchase any military hardware they wish, including tanks, battle mechs, armed space vessels, etc. Heavy ordance, explosives, and chemical/biological agents, require extensive paperwork and licensing, but are legal to those willing to put in the work to obtain them, and for whom their is a legitimate need. An individual who abuses these rights (for example detonating an explosive inside a habitat) generally loose their rights to own such thing. In many cases such items are owned by individuals but kept in a government lockup prior to their use on board space vessels for various reasons. For example a ship captain will usually keep his ships defensive nuclear weapons locked in a secure government storage while in port.

Civilians (those who have not served a term of military or Federal service) are restricted to possession of conventional firearms and some energy weapons. Civilians are encouraged to own a personal firearm but are not required to.

OSS schools famously include a month long "summer camp" curriculum once a year in which students spend time in artificial forests learning traditional survival skills, including firearm use and hunting. Some schools also have conventional firearms safety and shooting classes. School gun clubs are common and encouraged.

Generally the OSS is a very well armed Nation, due in no small part to their birth coming from a rebellion against forced disarmament from the inner planets governments.

Since 2017, firearm ownership is a right in the U.K.

Those purchasing a gun are subject to a background check, which takes around five minutes, to verify that they are not a convict, nor diagnosed with any mental illnesses.

Fully-automatic firearms are prohibited, though devices that mimic fully-automatic fire are legal.

The only people in the nation who are permitted to carry firearms are the Tangatarehua Self-Defence Force, the Imperial Guards and the Police Special Branch.

There is nothing specific about guns in the Constitution or in federal law, which means that each member state is free to lay down its own laws in this area.

Presently, none of the states has banned handgun ownership.

The constitution guarantees that every household and small business may carry a maximum of two firearms for the purposes of self defense, provided every adult in the household passes a background check of no criminal records and "sane" mental capacity. The firearms are also required to be in a place that is not accessible to children.

Hunting licenses are also issued on a discretionary basis by the Ministry of the Environment.

On the national level, there are no laws restricting citizens from owning any kind of weapon. Resident foreigners are forbidden from owning anything more dangerous than a steak knife. Technically, you could have your own personal nuclear weapon, assuming no laws in your prefecture or local government forbid you from having one. Even on the lower levels of government, laws are few and far between. Several prefectures and cities forbid violent felons, the mentally unstable, and drug users (and yes, this is a specific definition of "drug" that often does not include caffeine, tobacco, or alcohol, but sometimes includes cannabis) from owning any firearm or explosive for a certain number of years after conviction for their crimes, diagnosis, or incident involving drugs.
After reaching the age of majority, all male citizens must complete military training, which includes training in the use of firearms. There are no exceptions to this, so pacifists who object can only renounce their citizenship and leave the country.

There are no gun laws in Krogard.

Anyone may own and use a firearm as they see fit. They are still subject to laws against things like murder or destruction of property, but such laws do not discriminate with regard to the type of weapon used (or not used).
