January 1, 1895

Pottsylvania and West Ontario, the 42nd and 43rd provinces, join the union today as official provinces, bringing the lower house to 86 members and the upper house to 119.

April 17, 1895

ST. CATHERINE -- Rumblings have begun that the nation is in discussions with the US on annexing the northeastern part of the country, cut off when Barnettsville was founded. No sources are willing or able to confirm this story.

January 1, 1897

Two more areas have joined the nation officially as province status was given to East Ontario and Algoma today. They now become the 44th and 45th provinces.

The lower house now has 90 members, whereas the upper house expands to 121.


In other news, the northeast is not being annexed by Barnettsville. Unconfirmed sources have divulged that a coup attempt is in place with help from guerrila offshoots in Barnettsville.

There are now 46 provinces in Barnettsville, as Timoko was officially added to the nation. The unassigned land is quicky shrinking, and the government is growing slowly.

There are now 92 in the lower house, and 122 in the upper.

January 1, 1900

Province number 47 has entered the nation, as North Royalton joins. The provincial governor remarked, "It is a great day for us, as we have a voice in St. Catherine, and can now see where our money goes."

This brings the totals in the capital to 94 and 123, respectively, until the census.

July 1, 1900

With the count completed, the representation has been set at 94 in the lower house and 302 in the upper house.

Plans were also announced for a traveling constitution tour to display a preserved copy of the nation's constitution for the golden anniversary of the nation's founding, which would be in 1915.

Forty-eight provinces are now dotting the Barnettsville landscape as North Ontario is welcomed into the fold. The only remaining land not determined in the easternmost part of the country.

The 49th province has joined the nation - in a manner of speaking.

Due to disagreement on what the name will be, President Hammer decided that it will be the Eastern Territory until such time as they come up with a name. From the "territorial" governor:

"It's disappointing that we don't have a name yet. But we do have a voice in Parliament now. This will be resolved."

This leaves the nation with 98 lower house members and 304 in the upper.

"As much as we value the freedom that our nation has, the combination of the strength of the nation and our dwindling popularity has necessitated our disbanding."

The 49th Province, who to this point had no official name, finally got one. Petitions had been circulating to name the province "Windsor". In the previous election last November, it was voted in officially to the relief of many in the Province.
