A group of broadcasters from varying regions, representing a diverse range of peoples and cultures, have come together to create the International Broadcasting Alliance. Loosely based on the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), this union was born out of years and years of consistent interaction among these broadcasters, who frequently meet during the WorldVision Song Contest and World Hit Festival, both held several times a year. Led by representatives from AS1 Comunicaciones (AS1, Achaean Republic), Brityunik Vefecosoin Cairkovoin (BVC, Britonisea), Radiu-Televižio Kalosia (RTVK, Kalosia), Malta Comino Gozo Broadcasting Corporation (MCGBC, Malta Comino Gozo), Natanyan Television and Radio (NTVR, Natanya), Nekoni Television & Radio (NTR, Nekoni), and Tödlichebujoku Kidelavo (TÖBUK, Tödlichebujoku), the Alliance was officially established on January 1st, 2021.

The aim of this alliance is to act as a forum for different broadcasters to come together and collaborate on broadcasting matters (including, information exchange and potentially, the creation of original IBA programmes) as well as to be a resource to fulfill the technical needs of broadcasters.

Asmara Yuriar - 19 January 2021, 19:48

Anastasia "Milly" Kočendová appointed as Miss Anta 2021 jury president: "I'm honored"

January 19 - The Miss Anta organization shocked pageant aficionados across Antahbrantahstan after they appointed popular Anturian supermodel Milly Kocendova as their jury president, while past jury presidents are usually reserved for senior actresses, actors, or high-ranking government officials, this is the first time in Miss Anta history that they appointed a high fashion supermodel as this year's jury president. A move that, while surprising everyone, was warmly welcomed by Twitteratis across Antahbrantahstan.

"I'm honored", said Kočendová in the press conference, "Miss Anta organization has uplifted women across the country since their inception, and i cannot wait to share my experiences, especially towards young women."
Image

When asked by journalists if she felt any pressure, she replied "Of course, being a human, i always felt huge pressure when dealing with an important matter like this, as a judge, you have to be impartial at all times, and ensure that you vote in an objective way without being influenced by your own tastes and subjectivity. The same way talent show judges deal with contestants, i certainly hope that my inclusion in the jury panel could give the Miss Anta organization a valuable insight on how to select a beautiful, yet passionate, humble, and articulate young woman, that's also ready to take on new challenges while also managing to break the stereotypes about how a woman should be." Kočendová replied.

Also announced as jurors in the press conference are Larissa Acosta, Miss Anta 2018, Stafford Decody, pop singer, Lidymar Sorrentino, author and actress, Sekar Fauzia Setyohandoko, fashion designer, Gabriel Roche, celebrity chef, and finally, Ali Zainal Mustofa, famed Gamelan player and traditional historian, who will be responsible to choose the winner of Miss Anta 2021 alongside the public vote. While the juries are announced at the event, the contestants are expected to be revealed at a later date.

While Miss Anta pageant has been deemed a "national treasured event" alongside football, badminton, and recently, WorldVision song contest. There has been some criticism about the Miss Anta pageant, as like other pageants, they are deemed as exploitative and promotes objectifying women, which was silently replied by Miss Anta organization by forbidding swimsuit sessions and enforcing a rule that applicants must have personal advocacies or have taken part in a charitable organization since 2018, a move that was warmly welcomed by netizens.

Miss Anta might not have been able to please everyone, however, being a long-running event that was held since 1988. Miss Anta have definitely cemented their presence as a much-loved event across the country.

Ani Khalenskova reporting from the Alezian Broadcasting Authority Regional Headquarters of PYALIVOSTOK

PYALIVOSTOK CITY - Yesterday, more precisely 18th of January 2021 shall be a day to rejoice for Pyalivostokian commuters that are tired of walking long distances just to reach their stations, those who want access to specific parts of the city, and so that. The reason is that the Regional Parliament of Pyalivostok has agreed to expand the regional capital's tram system's lines through a Regional Parliamentary Voting System that resulted in a 113-7 majority.

The expansion of the city's tram system is needed in order for Pyalivostok City to be as accessible as possible to every single Pyalivostokian as possible. And also to set example for other cities in Pyalivostok, or maybe even for other regions.

- Norivoda Skovnanova, MRP-PY 001/PYC

If indeed expansion to be initiated, two lines will be added to the presently six line tram system. Line 7 will go from Yodavnochy to Novi Skada and Line 8 will go from Adigel to Kakanska Tower. The location has been considered accordingly after researching demand, density of a place, and other things. Recent poll shows that 94% of the people living in Pyalivostok City are satisfied with the current plans to the project. It's been predicted that at a steady pace, the project will be completed in two years as the tramway tracks have to be build first due to the community that is to receive these tram lines do not have tramway track in their land.

In addition of new lines, the Tram Network also receives a new stock nicknamed "Стабильность" (Stabiln'ost') which means Stability, following the tradition of the Pyalivostokians naming of Tram stock with previous works of "Свобода" (Freedom), "Единство" (Unity), "мощность" (Power) which is a special stock commemorating 20 years of Daya Island and Pyalivostok's relationship (hence the name, Daya which means power in Indonesian and when Pyalivostok realizes, they loved the name), and their latest which is "Гармония" (Harmony). It is rumoured that the "Stability" stock would look identical to "Harmony".

Image
The Harmony Stock of the Pyalivostok City Tram Network

The Tram can be said as Pyalivostok's Specialty. The reason for that is Pyalivostok has more tram system in its region than in any region. It has tram systems in Pyalivostok, Ulkoyanvsk, Daya Island, Novoskovic, Kakavinsochi, Nakansava, Sava-Koyun, Makali, and Grodza. Another reason is that Pyalivostok has the best tram technologies in the country. They are the best in Tram-ology that when the town of Al Haqqadara in Zafizamarrah wants to build a tram system, rather than asking their regional government, they went straight to Pyalivostok to ask them to help Al Haqqadara build it.

We definitely hopes for the best on the progress of the Tram Network. Pyalivostok definitely has a great reputation in trams and the details surrounding it. The completion of the Tram System's expansion will definitely boost Pyalivostok's economy, and the massive transits of the community can increase job prospects and other things that can increase the quality of life in that community.

Festival dëla Kanžu Kalosianë: Names of 2021 competing acts revealed

MONTERRA—This morning, the organizers of Festival dëla Kanžu Kalosianë announced the 24 acts that will participate in the contest's 60th edition. They are as follows:

  • Akwile Blankë
  • Bruno Baľarti
  • Dafne Maržanu
  • Elisë Fernandi
  • Fatamorgana
  • Filipe Gardañu
  • GjardinRógj
  • Ǧuľo Baľarti
  • Lejla Brahimi
  • Lesusetë
  • Lidianë Marino
  • Lorenžu Bartolomio
  • Lucia Edin
  • Luiž Rikardi
  • Martina Guerra
  • Mikel Brašini
  • Nadia Marteli
  • Rafaél Tunisi
  • Rakel Ehtefanes
  • Valencina Siara
  • Valentinu Armandi
  • Yasmin
  • Zara X
  • Zlato

Out of the 24 acts, only 3 will be returning after competing in 2020, namely Ǧuľo Baľarti, Valentinu Armandi, and Yasmin. Many of the other acts are veterans who will be familiar with FKK fans, including Bruno Baľarti, Edwin Fernandi, Fatamorgana, Luiž Rikardi, and Martina Guerra.

Some of the competing acts will also be familiar to international spectators for having represented Kalosia in song contests abroad. This includes two WorldVision winners — Lucia Edin gave Kalosia its first WorldVision victory in the 42nd edition, and Zlato's WV78 win was the nation's third and most recent. Yasmin participated twice in the contest, including with a 2nd placed entry. There are numerous World Hit Festival veterans competing as well — Akwile Blankë came 3rd in the 48th edition, Lesustë competed in WHF50, Lidianë Marino in WHF34, and Rafaél Tunisi competed twice, in WHF31 and WHF44. Most recently, Kalosia's WHF55 participant Dafne Maržanu—who made her FKK debut 2 years ago—will be competing as well.

But even outside the world of song festivals, there are other big names competing as well. Palmañë-based Valencina Siara, who dominated Kalosian charts in the late 2010s with some international hits, will make her debut in the festival. Lorenžu Bartolomio has become a household name in the Kalosian indie scene, and Zara X is an up-and-coming name in the Kalosian pop industry, with chart success in the past few years.

More information regarding their entries and participation will come in the next few weeks, including the format of the 2021 edition of the festival and the allocation of semifinals.

Rendra Riady - 24 January 2021, 20:47

PM Malka Weissman: COVID-19 Vaccinations to begin in February

Image
Malka Weissman during a press conference
January 24 - After a long period of research, trial and error. Prime Minister Malka Weissman recently announced that Anturian COVID-19 vaccinations will begin in February. This news was announced publicly after the Anturian COVID-19 cases recently skyrocketed to 500.000 active cases, despite stringent measures such as lockdowns and curfews. Highlighting the fact that a conscience among the Anturian public is needed to ensure that the virus can be safely and effectively controlled.

During a publicly streamed address to the public, Malka announced and clarified details regarding the vaccine:

".....After an arduous research by our very own Anturian experts, i am happy to announce that the vaccinations can safely begin in February, using a combination of locally-made and imported vaccines from around the globe. However, in order to protect the lives of our doctors and nurses, who have worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic, the first doses of vaccine will be given to them, alongside those deemed extremely vulnerable to the virus such as senior citizens, before the vaccine will be given to the other parts of the public....."

While there is a sigh of relief across the Anturian citizensphere for the availability of the vaccine. Malka reminds the citizens that vaccinations are simply not enough to battle the virus alone.

"..... While i'm sure all of you are overjoyed hearing this news. I am asking each and every single one of you as citizens to remain vigilant, especially since the existence of vaccines are not enough to combat the virus. I am urging each and every single one of you as Anturian citizens to limit large-scale social gatherings, always wear mask whenever you go outside, and regularly wash hands using soap and clean running water, even if COVID-19 cases have decreased. I was notified by the sad news that we have hit 500.000 cases today, and this is extremely horrifying, as such, i am urging you as a country to continue practicing the measures i mentioned, because as we all know and learn, the government cannot fight all of these alone....."

In order to prepare for the vaccinations, several hundred thousand doses of vaccines are going to be transported towards different parts of the country beginning next Monday. Transportation is done using a highly-sealed, temperature-regulated
container to ensure that the vaccines don't deteriorate while in transit and to make sure the vaccine have maximum efficacy.

Kalosian entry for the 88th WorldVision Song Contest revealed

MONTERRA—At a 30-minute special held last night on MediTV, the participating broadcaster of Kalosia at the WorldVision Song Contest, the act that will represent the nation at the contest's 88th edition was revealed. The act were introduced in a talkshow-style setting and, following a short conversation between the host and the members of the act, the song was revealed.

Representing Kalosia at the WorldVision Song Contest 88 is Sons of Thunder with the song Lonely Symphony.

Image

Sons of Thunder is Kalosia's most popular metal band, and the biggest domestic name in the genre. With metal being a relatively underrepresented genre at the contest and especially within Kalosia's participation record, the band may be seen by some as an unexpected choice. Indeed, the reactions have been quite mixed, with some on social media voicing concerns that the nation will flop once again with a choice that isn't very radio-friendly, while others have praised the broadcaster for experimenting and taking risks.

The band normally consists of 4 male members, but the lead vocalist's girlfriend joined the band in early 2020. She has stated that she will be a semi-permanent member of the band, joining for at least the course of upcoming projects at the time, with the possibility of staying or leaving to be determined once those projects have run their course. One such project includes the band's album Red Thorns released in October 2019. The song that the band have chosen to perform, in fact, comes from this album.

Son of Thunder's WorldVision entry is titled Lonely Symphony. At 8 minutes long, the song would have been the Kalosian entry with the longest duration in the nation's 68-edition participation, however the band confirmed during the talkshow that they will perform a shortened version that is under 4 minutes long. The band have stated that they are preparing to give a show for their performance at the contest. We wish them the best of luck.

New flyover, and roundabout upgrade announced in ƒ18m project
Plans drawn up in collaboration with Cultural Heritage experts

A new flyover will be built for those travelling to and from Birdsong Industrial Park, and Downtown Valletta while improvements will be made to improve access to the MCG International Airport and port in new ƒ18 million investment plans unveiled on Thursday by Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg.

Image

The tunnels and Airport intersection project will also upgrade the ring road roundabout with a new underpass to help alleviate traffic caused by the Airport and Ports.

The minister told MCGBC during a visit to the site that this was yet more proof that “this is a government for the people”.

The investment, he said, will ease the life of many people, especially those who use the area on a daily basis and get stuck in traffic. The new flyover will reduce travel time, cut traffic and reduce the risk of accidents, the minister said.

Miss Acaya 2021 Returns to AS1 on June 11!

Miss Acaya 2021 Returns to AS1 on June 11!

AS1 Comunicaciones and Rolando Castro, President of the Organización Miss Acaya, announced on a virtual press conference Saturday broadcast live on social media that the 2021 Miss Acaya pageant will return to AS1 on Friday, June 11. "We are so excited that we will finally be able to broadcast one of the country's most prestigious pageants once more after a terrible year we've had. We were forced to cancel the pageant because of COVID-19 precautions, but we will do everything in our power to secure that our contestants feel safe, sound, and ready to compete and represent the Achaean Republic on the world stage!"

Last year's pageant was supposed to be broadcast on Friday, June 12th in República Valdez, but the final ceremony was canceled due to the pandemic. Instead, the organization's selection committee hand-picked Marija Jelena Tomasević, a 20-year-old Izmeduan-born Corola resident that used to work at the Fábrica Salina Izmeduana before it closed in early 2020 as the pandemic began. The organization has begun talks with state pageant directorships to select candidates given the extraordinary conditions faced by the committee and that, at this time, not every state has chosen a candidate, but they will allow states to carry over delegates to their state, or maybe have them represent a state of their choice if none is selected by the time. The final cutoff date for entries has been extended to May 1, 2021.

In addition, the organization will allow both República Valdez and Corola to field an extra candidate per tradition, and certain events will also be held in the former state as a nod to the aborted 2020 competition, regardless of whether or not they will host the pageant. There are also discussions with the organization's health and safety directorates and with AS1 over social distancing regulations, vaccination requirements, and whether or not an audience will be allowed into the pageant's venue(s). Castro said, "We're currently working on those details, but the pageant will still be held live and on TV, audience or not."

More details will be revealed as they come on the official website, missacaya.as, as well as AS1.com/missacaya, and on other digital platforms.

LGBTQ+ ACTIVISTS REJOICE AFTER FIRST GAY NIGHTCLUB IN POLKOPIA OPENS IN PEETO

Image
_Peeto, V.M. — On March 1st, a new milestone will mark a significant victory for LGBTQ+ activists in Polkopia, as the _first gay nightclub in the nation is set to open in the heart of downtown. APHRO is to open its doors for the very first _time on Monday, March 1st, and is set to have their "Grand Opening" on Friday.

_The location will feature table-service during weekday evenings before transitioning to a nightclub on Friday and _Saturday nights. APHRO will also feature brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings, complete with a craft cocktail _menu which will see regular seasonal changes.

_ APHRO will be located at 25 Grigovskaya Ulitsa. Previously, this location had been a popular seafood restaurant that _had to unfortunately close down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the vaccine rolling out at an expedited pace, _Polkopia has recently relaxed its restrictions regarding public gatherings and has allowed for bars and nightclubs to _operate at 50% capacity.

_The nightclub's opening has not gone without controversy, however.

Several religious and political organizations in Polkopia have called the nightclub "disgraceful" and believe that the establishment will only exist in order to promote nontraditional familial values. Stefen Vusić, head of the Polkopian National Alliance (PNS), believes that the behavior that this club promotes will be a slippery slope to more and more immoral behaviors.

"The gay and lesbian population," Vusić says, "has no place here in Polkopia. "Such people do not exist here in Polkopia, because we do not allow or promote their behaviors here. The idea of gay, or lesbian, or the non-binary people, it's simply a Western mindset that we want no part of. The moment we begin to allow for such immoral behavior is the same moment that we move closer and closer to allowing for bestiality, pedophilia, incest, and any other disgusting social norms. We are not those people and we will never be those people. The very existence of this building is a sin and I implore the local government to do something about it."

There have already been protests scheduled to occur during the weekend of the club's Grand Opening, however local officers ensure that there will be a heavy police presence to maintain order and ensure that patrons will not be subject to bodily harm.

Yoanna Valismanovna opened APHRO together with her husband, Pavel, in hopes that their little business will be the foundation for an increase of civil rights for the gay and lesbian population within Polkopia.

"No, I am not gay," says Valismanovna, "but this isn't about my personal sexual orientation. We have a thriving underground gay and lesbian scene, not only here in Peeto, but all around Polkopia, who are afraid to show their love and beautiful culture out of fear of public condemnation. We only have this nightclub here today, but in the future I would love to partner with other gay and lesbian organizations during off-hours and promote this culture within Polkopia. We need a safe space so that these people can be their true selves, and be encouraged to love and spread kindness to those around them. This past year has been incredibly hard on the LGBTQ+ population, whose home lives aren't always ideal, so I'm hoping to get some of these programs up and running as soon as possible!"

You can attend the soft opening of the restaurant on Monday, March 1st. Doors open at 19:00 and reservations are recommended for dine-in service. You can find out more information on their website.

North Alezia is currently celebrating a one-day (sometimes even one week) celebration of their 63 years of National Existence. In North Alezia, every year there would be an address from the Premier accompanied by the State Council on the left and right side of the Premier. Every year as well, North Alezian Government would broadcast the speech to the world. And for 33 years, continuing off from Aleziradio's mandate, the honour to broadcast the speech shall be given to the Alezian Broadcasting Authority. The ABA has prepared for the event for few weeks and now, we shall depending on where you got the information, read, hear, or watch the speech.

OFFICIAL ADDRESS
PREMIER OF NORTH ALEZIA

Sa'idah Mahmudaisyah

Good morning, my friends and colleagues of Basna, Pyalivostok, Tel Hadiv, Bristol, Aramna, and Zafizamarrah.
Salutations, my friends and colleagues of Mosin-Nagan, Daya Island, and Northern Pantabang Islands.
Salutations, my friends and colleagues of the world who are spectating through the ABA.

A very welcome, and it is on my best wishes to hope for everyone's best health, and best happiness.
It is a monumental day for us North Alezians to show to the world that even through hardships and problems, North Alezia prevailed, and went on continuing for 63 years and perhaps hopefully even longer.

I as the Premier of North Alezia, would like to thank everyone who has tuned in, either inside or outside the Territorial Area of North Alezia. We would also like to give our best wishes to the Empire of South Alezia who declared their independence on the same date as us. 23rd of February 1958.

It is my responsibilty as Premier to address to the world, what we North Alezians have in store for our goals before I would return and do a similiar speech here in this lectern, 365 days after today. Our first goal is to speed up the reunification process between North and South Alezia in order to finally stabilize the region. And do remember; Do remember that we will not use force recklessly.

Our second goal is to introduce North Alezia much further to the world. We have started progress on that goal by meeting a lot of countries, signing agreements with a lot of countries. Culture and Sports plays a big role in this goal, and that can be proven with North Alezian satisfactory result on the Worldvision Song Contest and the World Hit Festival where all of our singers proved to the world that we as a nation can shine. Proof is also visible on various tennis matches even if I don't like tennis. But I know one thing. Our Irina Elinova, proved that even if we're new, we can play tennis internationally. Even if we did not earn the result we want in the Olympics, the country is still indeed proud of its team.

The second goal, can obviously be reached also by being open to the world by what is happening to North Alezia by news and the internet. With information, the world might come to us and put interest in our country.

Our third and final main goal this year is to speed up absolute full recovery from economic devastation from the old and outdated controversial government back in 1958-1988. Even if North Alezia has evolved into a Upper Class Income, a lot of things still needs to be addressed. Such as rebuilding old road and old town networks, finishing project ALL-EZI-A, and much more. For me and the State Council, we have agreed to propose further economic agreement to countries such as Waisnor, Malta Comino Gozo, and Ertzei Kishim. We are also still discussing on proposing similiar agreements to Carrelie, Kalosia, Britonisea, and Polkopia.

Those three goals will be our "compass" in order to know what to do next. And obviously, we shall not align away from our ideology. North Alezia is the land for those who believe. Believe in Freedom, Love, Compassion, Passion, Cooperation, and many more.

Before I shall end this speech and return to my house to watch the entire proceedings of the day, I would like to wish everyone a happy Alezian Independence Day, or a very happy day full of wonders and happiness for you who don't live in North Alezia or those that not celebrate it.

Thank you for listening, and We shall meet again in another Independence Day Address approximately 365 days from now.

After the speech, North Alezians would usually gather at their nearest stadiums and sing few choir songs about North Alezia. Unfortunately, due to COVID limitations, the country cannot justify holding a massive event like this, and such, the Choir event shall be cancelled. Other than that cancellation, other events shall continue, for example, a big show on stage with limited seating.

The Worldvision Song Contest has just ended its 88th edition. North Alezia finished 15th. A rather dissapointing result considering that North Alezia has bounced back two editions ago, but we are still proud of Unique Times Four no matter what. And with the contest end, came a new season of Alma. All six regions has submitted their song to the competition.

Image

First up, coming from Rishozeda, Arin Dazelyev sent a song mostly in English, partly in Hebrew called Lalekhet or Go. The song according to Dazalyev is about feeling good and continue going on no matter what the people say or judge. This Tel Hadivian will go full fancy with a tuxedo, tophat, and a cane. Representing his taste against judgemental eyes. Will the eyes of the world bring the trophy to Tel Hadiv again?

Image

Ring ring, it's the middle east. They want their taste back. After a majestic return, Zafizamarrah as the capital naturally wants to win again. And thus, it touches an untouched style surprising for North Alezia. It's Middle Eastern music sung by a singer from Itabqa. Few testings later, research found that the problem with North Alezian entries lately are that the lyrics are considered too "childish"... Who knows, with Paramedical, things might get complicated and it might get... erm.... what is it... near? yeah.

Image

Sariel and Daniou. A couple with an interest in detective stories, because both are actually detectives. Oftentimes they would solve cases ranging from low-risk to insanely deadly. And solving cases do jog your brain in many ways because they both think of the same thing. "What does my significant other think about me. Is it a mystery that I need to solve?" And voilleaux, this song came to be. Will they made the jury and the public wonder? We don't know. These detectives from San Ferdinandeszia can solve any mystery, but can they solve this one?

Image

Ethan Clarkes, Macqueles, Born and Raised. He wrote a song about his feelings about being lost, and not knowing where to go. No one to ask to, no one to believe and trust but himself. But people like edgy songs, so who knows? Maybe Ethan Clarkes, Macqueles, Born and Raised can get the glass mask? Can Ethan find his way to the international stage?

Image

A song that sends people in fighting spirit. Always ready for a challenge, ready for that sacrifice. Oooh... That is what the song is all about. A song about people that will defend and fight for their love and to protect the connection against separation and potential hearts being broken. And this band is rather new and fresh. Will they be able to shine and fight for the country? And a rumour spreading real quick. Is it true that someone is going to sing in Finnish?

Image

Surely, this kings without a name could be a great band. Especially considering that the song is talking about how feelings of those around him feels for him (hence the title, Untukku). The song talks about the deepest feeling of themselves and the meaning for them. What is happiness for me? What is love for me? What is emotions for me? Is it beneficial? Is it destroying? Is the answer to this song is given to me for me to enjoy and take?

Those are the entries for Alma this season, listen to the playlist HERE!

Voting will open later, see you in Alma, and remember, YOU help the country decide on who shall get the glass-decked mask and especially, the ticket to the 89th Worldvision Song Contest.

Malta Comino Gozo to mark the first anniversary of deadly storm surge

Image

Flood waters devastated coastal area of the island of Malta

It's nearly one year after a large storm triggered a huge 2metre high wave that killed more 715 people, sadly some Malta Comino Gozoan coastal areas and villages are still nursing their wounds. A national ceremony on the first anniversary, on the 5th April 2021, will be held and broadcast to all IBA members in memory of the victims.

People across the multiverse will pause on Monday 5th to remember the day 1 year ago when a storm unleashed a devastating wave that killed than 715 people and injured countless more.

A solemn day of prayers and remembrance to mark the islands worst natural disaster is to be held in the capital city, Valletta which was hit badly by the storm surge, at the new memorial site.

The 2020 surge was triggered by a massive storm cyclone and high tides off the coast of Malta Comino Gozo and meteorologists agree another event of that magnitude is almost certain to strike the flood-prone region again in the future.

The government of Malta Comino Gozo declared that 12 million Florins would be sent to help the worst affected people and 30 million florins will be invested into coastal defences and into coastal radar technology to help prevent a storm surge of this magnitude remaining under detected. Flood gates have been installed in various communities around the country. Wave alert systems have been developed and placed to warn of impending danger, but getting that message out to seaside communities, and to children, in particular, is still a challenge.

The government of Malta Comino Gozo is inviting world leaders who lost citizens or want to attend the event, who can attend to come. COVID-19 measures mean all visitors must quarantine one week upon arriving. The memorial will be broadcast live, in over 25 countries.

Concerns Mount as Emperor Spends 27th Night in Hospital

Mustafa Enki

Newest official photo of the Emperor, released in January 2021

ADAB CITY - Crown Prince Alulim and Prince Sargon, the first- and second-in-line to the Imperial Throne, today visited the Emperor at the Umar ibn Al-Khattab Hospital in Adab City amid rising concerns about his health.

The Crown Prince and his eldest son arrived at the hospital under heavy guard at approximately 4:50 p.m. today and were immediately ushered in through a back entrance, as members of the press photographed them from a distance. All entrances to the hospital have been heavily guarded by police since the Emperor was moved here.

The Crown Prince resides in the Imperial Palace alongside his father. Prince Sargon has recently spent much of his time at his Cairo villa but made an unannounced return to Adab City last week amid increasing rumors regarding his grandfather's health.

The Crown Prince, 94, and Prince Sargon, 75, spent about fifty minutes in the hospital with their father and grandfather. They left at 5:45 p.m.

The Emperor, 112, was admitted to the hospital on February 6 after reportedly feeling "weak" for some days. An Imperial Palace source told The Adab Times that the Emperor had been receiving treatment in the Palace for at least a week beforehand, and that the decision to move him to the hospital was made in order to ensure that he received the best care possible considering his age.

Tonight will be the Emperor's 27th night in hospital. The cause of his hospitalization has not been officially disclosed, however the Palace has insisted throughout the course of the Emperor's treatment that he is in good health. His hospitalization is not related to COVID-19 and he has tested negative for the disease, the Palace said in an announcement on February 28.

On March 3, the hospital announced that the Emperor is responding to treatment and will be staying for "at least another week" to allow for continued observation.

Nevertheless, the Emperor's stay has been much longer than expected. This has been his longest hospital stay, and every day since he was admitted members of the press, as well as the general public, have crowded the entrances to the hospital, seeking the latest information regarding the Emperor's health.

The Emperor has generally been in good health throughout his life. He had surgery in 1999 to remove a benign growth from his neck, and in 2005 underwent total hip replacement at the age of 97. In 2011, aged 103, he spent a week in hospital after angioplasty to clear a blocked coronary artery.

The Emperor has held the throne since 1927.

Yesterday, the Adab City Council issued a statement urging people to cease gathering within and around hospital grounds and leaving bouquets of flowers on roads and sidewalks leading to the hospital. "While the concern for His Imperial Majesty's well-being is very much appreciated, we believe that it is also important to ensure that the hospital and ambulances going in and out of the hospital continue to operate smoothly and the comfort of all patients is upheld," the statement said.

Privy Council Pays Tribute

The Privy Council in its meeting today paid tribute to the Emperor for his "more than ninety years of service" and prayed that he will return to the Imperial Palace soon.

"His Imperial Majesty's record of service has no parallels in the history of this country. It is only right for us, in this time of worry, to seek solace in the achievements of his long reign and the affection which the whole country holds for him," the Lord President of the Council, the Duke of Baghdad, said at the start of the meeting.

The Council then held a one-minute silent prayer for the Emperor before formally proceeding to the agenda of the meeting.

Constitutional Amendment Proposed

Today, four provincial parliaments passed resolutions to propose to the Grand Council the "Member of Grand Council Recall Amendment", first proposed by Carl Jensen MPP of Upper California. Today's vote by the provincial parliaments pushed the amendment to the ratification stage as it reached the required two-thirds of provincial parliaments for the "provincial-general" constitutional amendment procedure.

This amendment allows the constituents that the MGC represents in Philadelphia gather 15% of the total constituents' signatures on the electoral vote to pass a petition to recall the MP and force a by-election and only if the MGC was found to have committed wrongdoing but such wrongdoing was not in alignment with Grand Council rules on expulsion votes of MGCs if the convicted MGC received a sentence of 1 year or more, or received a special suspension of 10 days or more from the Grand Council by the Speaker. If the general riding reaches the required amount of signatures, the MGC vacates immediately and a by-election is called by the general riding returning officer upon being informed by the Speaker.

A limitation on the petition process is that if there is a primary or a general election within 60 days then the petition cannot go into effect as that would make the convicted MGC face the voters.

33 out of 49 provincial delegations in the Grand Council are required to ratify the amendment, and while the Whigs and APP control the chamber these special circumstances usually have Members vote according to personal feeling and opinion, though of course political fallout or praise from constituents and the party whips would also have a strong influence. This amendment would be in line with the manifesto of Ms. Graves, the Prime Minister when she took office in 2018. She supported the provincial initiative as it is in line with Whig feeling on decentralization in the NAU.

Prince Edward Hall opens theatre season with the satire "All the King's Men"
By Nigel Thorne, theatre critic for the New York Herald and cultural commentator for NABC

The cultural castle of the NAU, Prince Edward Hall on Market Street, began the theatre season with Decadentist playwright Harold McCord's "All the King's Men", a commentary and criticism on the modern state of the monarchy as well as the privy councilors (some in other UBC Nations, others at home) who advise him. Sex scandals, political rows, international incidents, and a drunk Duke of York knighting a goat in Westminster Abbey is a welcome criticism of modern government, pandering to distracted audiences and elitist ministers and advisors who are just doing everything they can to win the next election. The monarchy is not spared from this, as the Crown is bound to heed and act on the advice of his ministers and councilors. And this is to hilarious effect, as George Cram, playing the King-Emperor, is well known for his other roles such as Richard III, Julius Caesar, and his recent film role as Dr. John Brown in An Affair in Bombay, which won the UCAFTA Award for Best Actor just last year, as a recently arrived surgeon who romanced Vera Scott, the wife of the British commissioner, and Garvey Smith who portrayed a German agent sent to blackmail the Viceroy. Set as a noir film just before the Great War broke out in the Near East, Europe, and Africa, it was a dramatic portrayal of imperialism, poverty, and the start of the conflict with romance and espionage interwoven among all.

I recommend this play as it reminds theatre-goers that life needs not only drama or action but also happiness and reflection on the institutions of the modern world. This world is hard on all, and the government helps make it so, but as an institution filled with the same fallible people as the rest of us, it reminds us that life can be made absurd in a meaningful yet comic way. There is even rumour that Imperial Pictures in Tijuana wants to make a motion picture and capitalize on George Cram's excellent portrayal, as well as include Dame Ariadne Turabian (to make her return to the silver screen, the last return being 10 years ago), socialite and activist, as the Queen-Empress.
An alt-America that had a grand bargain struck with London in the 1760s and remained under the British Crown (Turtledove's "The Two Georges"), mixed with some of Sobel's "For Want of a Nail" and a lot of the anthology "Columbia and Britannia," the sci-fi NZ novel "Anno Domini 2000 or Woman's Destiny", and cameos of other alternate histories. “The Rock of the Britannic Commonwealth,” an alliance of Britannic and former colonies as partner-nations in personal union and/or in association.

KMLF Start Ceasefire
Aaron Chan
9 March 2021

GANZHOU, Ko. - The guns fall silent for the first time in the damp valleys near Jinggangshan after a barrage late last night, today being the start of a week-long ceasefire declared by the Kongsi Maoist Liberation Front (KMLF). The Armed Forces of Nacrad did not explicitly confirmed that such deal existed, but in tacit agreement, did not return fire after an insurgent barrage just before midnight. The Southern Kongsi Military District said that it will look into entering into talks with the insurgent leaders, to facilitate an early peace.

Since October last year, this insurgent group had been a thorn in the side of the Kongsi Territorial Government, and the security of Kongsi, and since early January, it had gained a foothold in Jinggangshan, a sleepy town some 60 kilometers from Ji'an and 120 from Ganzhou. Ever since, the insurgents had used rockets and artillery against the major civilian centers in the region, but were thankfully warded off by the numerous counter-rocket, artillery and mortar batteries deployed in the region.

In retaliation, the NAF conducted near-nightly air raids and artillery barrages on insurgent positions, bombing above- and underground objectives, but refraining from hitting civilians. The NAF had also conducted what it calls "aerial insertion" missions, deploying the elite special forces to insurgent-held territory.

It was not clear as to why the Kongsinese insurgents declared a ceasefire, but it was welcomed nonetheless by officials. "This is a positive development in restoring peace in the Territory of Kongsi," said Karson Chiang, the Provisional Governor of Kongsi, "We hope that the KMLF can engage in good-faith talks with the territorial and national governments to find a suitable settlement."

However, the NAF still stands at high guard as of now, hoping for the best, but preparing for the KMLF to breach this declaration at any moment. As an Army commander puts it, "It's not a question if they'll breach it, but a question of when."

Rise in Cases and New COVID-19 Variant Surging in Avaria

Scotatrova had the COVID-19 pandemic mostly under control in December as case numbers declined. However, the situation has deteriorated in the last few days, with the number of daily new cases remaining stubbornly high despite the range of mitigation measures being implemented. The recent high number of cases suggests that the country is undergoing another wave of COVID-19 infections, possibly due to the spread of the UK variant. Scotatrova is in a difficult situation, as the existing mitigation measures do not seem to be effective at lowering the number of daily new cases. This situation demands a more stringent lockdown, but this might not be palatable either politically or economically. Vaccine rollout had also been a major issue in Europe, with the pace of vaccination much slower than in the US and the UK. Furthermore, there have been reports of a high degree of vaccine scepticism in Scotatrova, which needs to be countered with effective public health promotion. The best course of action now is to get the vaccines into as many people as quickly as possible. Mitigation measures to control the number of new cases need to continue until most of the population has been vaccinated.

A variant first discovered in the state of Avaria in December is more contagious than earlier forms of the coronavirus, two new studies have shown, fueling concerns that emerging mutants like this one could hamper the sharp decline in cases over all in the state and perhaps elsewhere. In one of the new studies, researchers found that the variant has spread rapidly in a Malhada neighborhood in the past couple of months. The other report confirmed that the variant has surged across the state, and revealed that it produces twice as many viral particles inside a person’s body as other variants do. That study also hinted that the variant may be better than others at evading the immune system — and vaccines.

The variant called B.1.1.7 arrived in Scotatrova from Britain, where it swiftly became the dominant form of the virus and overloaded hospitals there. Studies of British medical records suggest that B.1.1.7 is not only more transmissible, but more lethal than earlier variants. Some experts said the new variant in Avaria was concerning, but unlikely to create as much of a burden as B.1.1.7. Researchers have been looking more closely at the new variant to pinpoint its origin and track its spread. It has shown up in 22 states to date, and in several other countries, but it has so far taken off only in Avaria. The study also found that the new variant can evade the immune system better than other variants can. Antibodies from people who recovered from infections from other variants were less effective at blocking the new variant in the lab. The same was true when the researchers used blood serum from people who had been vaccinated. Still, the variant’s effect on immunity seems to be much smaller than that caused by a variant from South Africa. Now Avaria is going to become a kind of viral cage match between the B.1.1.7 and Avarian variants, with suspicions that the B.1.1.7 will win out.

"Great job Adrïan. Keep it that way and you will taste that sweet, sweet trophy".
"Thank you Rëubens. It's gonna be f***ing wild at Hwoarang now."
"*laughts* . It sure will be."
-Radio messages right after the race in Edrana

Adrïan Ertërmias, 2011 winner, 2012 3rd place, and 2014, 2015, 2016 runnerup in the national darkmanian rally racing championship, now are facing what might be the biggest trophy in his carrier. Ertërmias at age 32, who just saw happens to turn 33 on the same day as the final race, are the darkmanian hopeful who at the of this posting of this article leading with 73 points ahead of the runner-ups, brionish driver Larry Harrington-Dale (Automocourser Automosuccès) and natanyan driver Sasha Thornsk (Domerton Kaylan) both are at 68 points, proving that Adrïan still is "King ErTërmias" in the eyes of the darkmanain racing fan community. Having raced since age 9 and has won more trophies than you can think of might soon add a new one to his trophy cabinet. We couth up with him while he was on the track walk to find out where to break at turns to discuss. He had reached turn 2 when we meet him.

"Its not that long ago I was racing 120 kilometres in the forests in Indëlstädt in piss weather and standing at the top of the podiums at the national rallies in Darkmania and now, in my sabbatical year of ralling, keep winning in something I haven't raced in years are something interesting. But I can taste it. That one is mine." Dëritee has already announced their intent to run in the next season of WGP3 ENZ Championship, whenever they'll come when doing a press conference told reporters that "to push our brand to new heights we will be running our cars on the tracks as soon as posible". So darkmanian representation are well as espected next year.

We also had a chat with Jürgen Lëst, the infamous darkmanian driver, who has revealed that he's not gonna race next year due to financial issues having lost 80% of his sponsors due to his poor and sometimes dangerous driving at times. "Well i might be 17 but at least ill come back stronger next time i am in the driving seat".

Lëst, in his typical form, crashed his bike headfirst into a barrier right after the chat. He has some scratches in his head but no major cuts.

To find out if Adrïan Ertërmias becomes the champion, turn on DaTV channel 1 on Sunday 14th March at 15.00 local Darkmanian time. DaTV will broadcast the race live with commentator Rëubens Tÿldahl and Erÿk Bëlnÿse live.

"This is for you" - Larry Harrington-Dales pays tribute to his mother as he wins WGP3 ENZ Championship in Togonistan...

by Sebastian Knight

@HDLarryOfficial: Larry posts a beautiful image of him and his mother celebrating his win at the WGP3 ENZ Championship earlier in the day at dinner...

The team, Automocourser Automosuccès and Larry Harrington-Dales has won the World Grand Prix tier 3 ENZ Championship in Togonistan which was broadcast on BITC. This could mean a new beginning for Britonisea in motorsport...

Even though Britannual had been a sponsor of motorsports before (for San Jose Guayabal), motorsport hadn't received that much interest or support from the Britonish public with the sport being rarely shown on Britonish television channels. Though, this was all about to change as WGP 3 announced that they would be putting on a tier 3 motorsport tournament which would be held in a couple of Novapaxian countries. While major motorsport is a long way away from being ever hosted on Britonish turf, hopeful Britonish motorsports who competed in nothing more than national motorsport championships with not a lot of coverage finally saw this as an event that they could make their big break in. After the national motorsport agency got in contact with Britannual, they were more than excited to get a Britonish team up and ready in time for the World Grand Prix tournament. Working with one of Britonisea's most popular car company, Automocourser, they designed an engine which they thought, with the right drivers, would blow the competition out of the water. BITC scooped up a major deal with WGP 3 to bring live coverage of the event on a Sunday afternoon, with Britannual using their money to pay for heavy advertisements both on television and on social media which has brought a huge audience to the Championship.

Along with fellow Britonish driver, James Wilkinson, Automocourser Automosuccès' team was sorted and off they went travelling to regional locations to try and bring the trophy back to Britonisea. The team faced stiff competition from the likes of Jasper Howard-Burman from Estogium and Adrïan Ertërmias from Darkmania, both under Team Dëritee. The season saw Automocourser Automosuccès and Dëritee constantly battle for gold, while in the driver's standings, Adrïan Ertërmias was an issue there too along with Natanyan Sasha Thornsk of Domerton Kaylan. Ahead of the final which took place in the afternoon, it was Adrïan who was in the running to win the WGP 3 ENZ Championship which meant that Larry had a job to do - win no matter what. Britons watched as Larry finished the race in 56:34.560 - but watched as the Darkmanian finished 5 places below, even under the other Britonish driver, James Wilkinson. ABEN secured 3 of the top 5 placements of the championship with Larry in 1st and being the one who cracked open the bottle on the top of the podium.

Upon winning, Larry took to Instagram to thank his mother for supporting him at these Championships and having faith in him when he felt as though he didn't have anyone who believed in him. Larry also said that his fight to get Britonisea and, now, Automocourser Automosuccès on the international stage is continuing and hopes more regional championships can be conducted to build his confidence and drum up interest for the sport. Larry's win will no doubt do him some good - with some suggesting that Larry inspired many young children to pursue a career in motorsport. Larry is expected to be the face of a new range of motorsports clothing, and due to his sudden popularity, along with James, he will probably be showing his face on television and adverts in general more. "It will only help motor racing in Britonisea and the prevalence of it. We have a lot of competition from other sports that we are successful in such as tennis, such as Water Polo." When asked about whether Larry would like to move up the tiers and play on a competitive field in Tier 1 one day during a press conference, the man rather bluntly said, "Yes! It won't happen overnight, but that would be a dream come true."

Congratulations to both Larry and James and well done to the team at Automocourser Automosuccès!

Scotatrova Faces Third Wave

Image

In the Scotatrovian state of Atalon, where the coronavirus made its dramatic debut in Scotatrova a year ago, the state is experiencing a horrible feeling of deja vu. Twelve months after the coronavirus made its first major landfall and engulfed Atalon in peninsular Scotatrova, it feels as though nothing has changed as the state bears the brunt of Scotatrova's latest wave of infection and illness. The nation descended into panic last March before enduring a strict lockdown, which helped in halting the spread of the virus nationwide. But things have not gone according to plan since then, with a second wave of COVID-19 cases in November and now a third as the British variant of the coronavirus takes root and Scotatrova's vaccine rollout sputters. The country’s death toll from the disease stands at 91,000, the fourth highest in Europe after Italy, the United Kingdom and Russia.

After a three-week lockdown was ordered Monday for two-thirds of the country, many Scotatrovians have found themselves back to square one. Unlike in the first wave, the Mediterranean coast of Scotatrova has been hit as hard as Atalon this time, with areas such as Monce — where intensive care patients have doubled this month — locking down before the bulk of the rest of the country did Monday. “We expect to hit peak numbers on Friday, but other states like Monce, Norva and Adarse that waited until Monday to lock down won’t peak for another 10 days,” said the nation's health minister. Scotatrova rode out its second wave using a tiered system of localized restrictions on movements. But the measures, which left shops, restaurants and schools open in most areas, were not rigorous enough to halt the highly contagious British variant, which crept into the country in January. Scotatrova has now administered 15.2 million vaccine doses, compared with the 26.5 million administered by Britain, whose population is of smaller size.

A woman in Rakaphy receives her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine

IIn Tiferet, one would be forgiven for thinking that the world was not in a global pandemic. Apart from the state-mandated wearing of face masks, people mix as normal in restaurants, cafes, and bars; businesses are open and operating freely, despite social distancing measures, and limited international travel has returned to Ertzei Kishim, which has allowed Kishraeli, Israeli, and Lebanese citizens to begin returning to the country. This is thanks to a successful vaccination rollout which has accelerated in recent weeks thanks to generous donations of surplus Pfizer vaccinations from the neighbouring Israeli government. The government of Ertzei Kishim, led by Riva Galon, initially placed orders of 700,000 units of Pfizer vaccine, 950,000 of the Astra Zenica vaccine, and 2,400,000 doses of the Russian-made Sputnik vaccine, enough to cover two doses for approximately 70% of the adult population. As these are rolled out, the Israeli government which has raced ahead thanks to a priority deal with Pfizer, recently donated 500,000 additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine, boosting Ertzei Kishim's capacity to inoculate the entire adult population by September, according to conservative estimates.

40% of the adult population in Ertzei Kishim have now received both doses of the vaccine, with a total of 61% receiving at least their first dose. This has allowed the increased opening of the Kishraeli economy at the same time as other states on the Mediterranean, namely Italy and Scotatrova, struggle to quash rising infection rates. The success of the vaccination programme has lead to a boost in support for Riva Galon and her "Mapam" party, who have widely been credited with the success of the rollout, and rewarded for their gamble in placing orders ahead of time. However, issues do remain in the country. Despite extremely high vaccination rates in the urban centres on the coast and central regions of the country, the much neglected and rural Mizrah Region, with its capital Mocha, has seen lower takeups among the population, particularly the religious communities which are concentrated in the relatively untouched area.

A protestor with a Circassian flag demonstrates against the 'National Language Law'

IAny casual observer of Ertzei Kishim would know that it is one of the few countries that has multiple national languages, Arabic, Circassian, and Hebrew, all which have equal legal rights and status. However the more interested observers would also known that the use of Hebrew far outweighs that of any other language in the country, indeed, it is a hammer and sickle styled Hebrew alef which features on the flag of Ertzei Kishim, debates in parliament are conducted in Hebrew, and universities overwhelmingly choose Hebrew as the primary language of instruction. In the latest census, Hebrew was declared as the primary language of some 45% of the population, with Arabic as 31%, and Circassian as just 11% of the population's first language. Advanced knowledge of Hebrew, as an L1 and L2 language stands at around 93% of the overall population, while overall figures for Arabic and Circassian are 53% and 27% respectively. It is amongst this backdrop that a law introduced by the Hazit Political Alliance, to declare Hebrew as the sole language of Ertzei Kishim, relegating Arabic and Circassian as 'community languages', is debated in Tel-Din next week.

The right-wing Hazit, which receives substantial support from Jewish voters who felt disenfranchised by the socialist rise to power in the country, have used arguments of a bloated public budget as a justification. Indeed, translations into the three languages of all official documents is an expensive and slow process, and government translators are some of the best paid public servants in the country. Other parties, particularly the Communist Party have voiced their opposition to the law, seeing it as a veiled attack on the rights of non-Jewish citizens motivated by racism within the Hazit party. Amidst this debate, Shofetet Riva Galon has permitted members of the governing coalition to hold a 'free vote' on the issue, allowing members of parliament to vote with their conscience rather than along party lines. The motivation for this seems unclear, her party, Mapam, enjoyed substantial Arab and Circassian support in the last election, which saw her party's meteoric rise to 38 seats on a soft socialist slate. However, opinion polls have shown that due to a successful vaccination rollout, Riva Galon's personal ratings have increased, especially amongst voters of Labour and the centrist parties (Tamag and Ha'Merkaz) in the last election; there have also been some signs of Hazit voters warming to her party. Thus, she may seek to sacrifice some support from smaller bases on the language issue, in order to win big with Hazit supporters. Even if the vote fails, Galon's permission to hold it will likely win some support. As of now, it is unclear how the parliament will vote, however some protests have occurred in Kishraeli cities.
