Has your nation had any revolts within the last few decades? Frequently! Our people are very, very outspoken. Since most governmental groups and committees can be joined by any adult (and often even juvenile) citizen who wants to join, these revolts usually take the form of a group of dissenting citizens entering such a group, and tabling their demands. Since committee decisions are determined by consensus, not majority, this is never a guarantee that these demands will be met. In the few rare cases where dissenters resorted to intimidation, and reasonable discourse was no longer an option, arrests, unfortunately, had to be made, and proportional violence was used.

Is your nation unstable, and if so, how unstable is it? We are like a stormy sea, our waves are loud and choppy and foamy, but under the surface, we are pretty serene. Within our culture, anything goes, as long as our three core values are adhered to. And so far, that is what the vast majority has, by and large, managed to keep doing.

However!

Counterintuitive though it may seem, our way of life demands a lot of discipline from our citizens, and especially a lot of personal responsibility. Understandably, not everybody can muster this. If these individuals are unsustainable within their communities or society as a whole, they will usually be convinced, or if not, forced, to join the army, which, of course, is NOT organized in a sociocratic manner.

We are fully aware of the risk that this creates: a centralized body of armed citizens with a markedly different view on society, and who are, in many cases, also outcasts... what can go wrong, right?

This is one reason why the army also employs many volunteers, in fact, more than half of our people have, at some point, served in the army for two or more years.
An important motivation for people to want to sign up is to bring civil society into the army, to prevent the army from becoming a "state within the state". A second reason is that the army also provides ample opportunities for following an education.

Nevertheless: the most feared scenario for a possible armed revolt would be a dissenting faction of the military attempting a coup. This has never happened and hopefully it never will. But it definitely is a theoretical possibility.

Therefore, any attempts at unrest or disunity are met with a harsh and violent reaction by the Government. A sense of common identity of "Jersha-ness" is ingrained in the people from childhood, and the idea of One Nation and One Leader is the basis of Jersha identity and governance. However, despite this, there has been a recurring uprising by the Socialist Party of Jershaland attempting to establish an independent state or take over the current government. It has been put down numerous times, and last year a peace deal was signed between the Socialist Party and the Government allowing the party to contest the 2019 election. It took 5 seats (out of 150) in Parliament and fighting has stopped with the Secretary of the Socialist Party saying that electoralism is now the favored way for the party to gain power and disavowing violence.
