[The Elyrion]

Great question. The history of what made the United Kingdom of The Elyrion is long, but I'll try and condense it.

During the last ice age, our ancestors, the ^§a¤aŋ^ƒ §¤∑∑ (Unknowable Human(S) in English) crossed from Nova Scotia to the Elyrion Isles via a land bridge, and quickly adapted and became the ∑∫ỹriȱŋ. After the ice age, the land bridge sunk underwater.
For millennia, during the ⋔ƒȱþȱ (Extreme Isolation) phase, no contact was made between the ∑∫ỹriȱŋ and outsiders, until European colonization. The ∑∫ỹriȱŋ managed to escape colonization because of the ∑∫ỹriȱŋ wastelands (The first impression that the Europeans got of our islands) and the brutality of our ancestors. Once the USA became independent, they swore to protect the islands, unbeknownst to us ∑∫ỹriȱŋ.

In 1980 ad, an unofficial union between all ∑∫ỹriȱŋ tribes happened, and then twenty years later, it became official and the United Kingdom was born.

I have the pleasure of being the first monarch of this glorious nation, and there is no better way to start than become known internationally by answering questions like this from nations such as yourself. Once again, thanks for the question.

[Socialist East England]

What is now the English Socialist Republic arose from the post-WWII Soviet occupation zone in Britain. The rest of the island was occupied by the United States. The Allies intended to create a united British state, however due to intense disagreement on the nature of this state (the Americans wanted a US-aligned republic of Great Britain and a united Ireland, while the Soviets preferred a neutral or USSR-aligned federation of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland), the US and USSR established separate regimes in their respective zones. The Commonwealth of Great Britain was proclaimed on 2nd May 1949, along with the new Irish Republic on the 16th. In response, the Soviet zone became the English Socialist Republic, claiming to be the legitimate government in England, and a provisional unit within the planned Federation of British and Irish Socialist Republics, claiming sovereignty over all of the British Isles. The Commonwealth of Great Britain in turns claims the territory of the ESR. To this day, neither state officially recognises the others' existence.

[Coltarin]

The Imperial States Alliance of Coltarin came into its current form in 1856 after a coup lead by Atriarch Douglas McCannen against the Helasian Emperor Mikulek the Mad. Prior to the coup Coltarin was a part of the United Coltarian-Helasian Empire, which had been created in 1587. While the UCHE was meant to treat both nations as equals it soon devolved into Helasian Domination, with the role of the Atriarch reduced to a petty advisor to the Helasian Emperor. After centuries of mistreatment and oppression by the Helasians, Atriarch McCannen, a staunch nationalist, gathered his allies and attempted to force Emperor Mikulek to abdicate the throne. When he learned of the coup, Emperor Mikulek ordered his army to attack Coltarin and its citizens. This began with the Coltarian district of the then capitol Helarin being put to the torch. After McCannen confronted and killed the Emperor the royal family was arrested and forced to abdicate their claim to the throne and to sign the Pact of New Alliance. This in effect dissolved the sovereign Helasian state and created the modern Coltarian state.

[Aldyn]

Before the emergence of the Republic, Aldyn was divided into numerous states. The nation state system, unable to cope with the scale of new challenges*, finally fell apart over the course of the 1910's- 1980's. The Republic of Aldyn emerged in its place as a quasi-state common association between different interests, the largest of these being Shaxti (formally Shaxti Global Commerce Corporation)**, as well as the unions, the freeman associations, the temples, and many others to ensure a minimum degree of order persist.

[Blanjiland]

Blanji historians believe the origins of Blanjiland come from the small Merchant Republics within central Jutland. Most of the Jutland peninsula had remained fairly free of feudalism for most of the late 9th and 10th centuries. Most of the peninsula's population were Viking raiders that would sack cities on the coastlines of France, Germany, and the British Islands. Due to this, most raiders would work as artisan merchants between campaigns, leading to economic prosperity during peacetime.

The Merchant Republic of Herning was a small city-state that swore fealty to Denmark's Kingdom for much of the 10th century through the 14th century. Starting in the 13th century, the Merchant Republic of Herning began to expand its influence. Whether through purchasing titles and claims from neighboring counties and duchies or infiltrating the courts of these aforementioned duchies and effectively vassalizing them, Herning would dominate the Jutland Peninsula by the turn of the century. In 1327, with the Kalmar Union's establishment, the Merchant Republic of Jutland (as it was called) began to influence the royal courts of Denmark. Before 1400, Denmark was effectively owned by the wealthy merchants of Herning. One such merchant was Walter Van Blanj, whose wealth was said to have been able to purchase Rome itself. Most historians believe his wealth to have been similar in abundance to history’s wealthiest individual, Mansa Musa.

Van Blanj’s influence over the politics of the Merchant Republic led many to follow him in an attempt to seize power. In 1340, Van Blanj overthrew the Merchant Republic, establishing an oligarchical state led by him and his acquaintances.

We are an island nation in Western Mediterranean situated in the Triangle: Balearics, Sardinia and Sicily. It has been part of many empires. As the Cartagineans, Romans, Byzantine, Arabs. During the XIth century. As local Islamic lords were fighting among themselves and were threatened by the Almorabites they started hiring great numbers of Christian mercenary bands, mostly iberian, Slavs, anglosaxons and Normans. And, Muslim from all around the Islamic world.
Gradually those dogs of war started getting feuds as they employers were running out of cash and gradually gained more parts of the island. And finally those Christian lords defeated their employees with help of Iberian and italic mercenaries and European Knights from various crusades as the 2n, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th crusade forces, they defeated the last muslim lords in 1287 and got the island. While most of their commoners were Muslims. So monks, traders, mercenaries and settlers from southwestern Europe arrived to the Island, mostly from southern France.
During the XIVth Century the island was also field of battle between Guelfs and Gibelines and the became a fiefs of the Kings of Majorca first, then Sicily and Aragon. We were a hub in Mediterranean trade. Our population fell dramatically because of the black plague. It took to the XVII century to get 1348 population.
During the XVIth and XVIIth century the island was contested between Spain and the Turks. Last Muslims were expelled in 1609 as Jews had been expelled in 1492 by the Spanish Inquisition. So more settlers came mostly from Southern France and Italy. With the end of the Spanish succession war the island became Austrian (so many Spanish habsburg supporters were invited to settle) but with the end of Austrian succession war it was ruled by the a cadet branch of the French Bourbons and we passed to the french area of influence until the French Revolution. When there was a fight between royalist and revolutionaries. Napoleon governed the island between 1798 and 1802. We were occupied by the British between 1802-1815. We became independent again in 1815. And, our independence was recognized by the Viena Congress. To have a neutral area in the Mediterranean. But We were de facto under French area of influence. There were 3 revolutions 1820, 1830 and 1848. That forced the monarchy to accept a liberal regime and lose most power. In 1861 the bourbons were replaced by the Miralpeix dinasty. French briefly pacifically occupied the island from 1860-1870 to avoid the annexation by Italy during the rissorgimiento. Also because France banks had invested heavily in Catarran industralization.
Catarra joined the Entente in WWI. And was hit heavily by 1929 crack. In 1936 there was a strong constutional crisis as King Albert III died without male descendent to avoid French, British an Italian putting a puppet on the throne. We became a Republic (with French and British support). In 1940 our island was invaded by Italy. The island was occupied by the allies in early 1943. We joined the allies in 1943 as result of Italian surrender. And we sent troops to Italy. So We joined the UN, We became a democracy. In the cold war We kept in French area of influence. But, we allowed the USA and Britain to keep their WW2 bases. In exchange of Marshall and MAP aid and joining NATO. In 1952. And EU in 1973.
In 1993 the UK returned their bases to Catarran control.

[Jershaland]

Jershaland was founded in 1962 by President Jacob Jersha Kilmont. What is now the Republic of Jershaland was comprised of various tribes and clans that were very loosely united and often competed against each other for resources. It was Jacob, leader of the Northern Jersha tribe, who unified these tribes and clans and established the modern nation of Jershaland. It was mostly peaceful, but there was resistance among some tribe leaders that required armed action by President Jacob. Since the founding of Jershaland, the Jersha people have considered themselves one tribe, not many, and the former tribal allegiances have all since disappeared. Unity is the most important value in Jershaland and is reflected in the common saying "One Nation, One People, One Tribe, One Leader".

[Diarcesia]

The peoples composing the Monarchy Diarcesian are of a great variety of ethnicities and social norms, but are united by the ideals that coalesced at the time of Arkess (Arcesius).

To the naive outsider, the seven cities of Old Diarcesia during the 9th Century can be considered of united Hellenic heritage. Upon closer inspection, nothing could be further from the truth. In the isolation of their peninsula, with contact to the outside world only possible through trade routes that for some months at a time are cut off because of the tempestuous weather, the denizens of each city see their fellow Hellenics in the other cities as barbarians. Uniting them was an almost impossible task.

By the time Arkess succeeded in this feat, a consensus formed among the original Diarcesians. The cultural glue that would maintain the cities' cooperation would hinge on the two concepts of archa (lit. 'beginning') and telus (lit. 'end'). To the Diarcesians, these mean much more than its literal meaning; the archa is the audacity to set ideas into motion, and the telus is the tenacity to see it to completion. When the disputants were shown the looming threat of the Hylvorians, they understood the gravity of these concepts.

Archa and telus are sufficient (arce) for them to ensure their legacy and survival. With these, they finally said: "We will endure"

What is once the Archonate of Arcesius became the Diarcesi's common weal. That is, the Monarchy Diarcesian.
