A majority of settlements within Chemgota are old Soviet mining towns to extract the region's wealthy resources, aside from being constructed by Gulag prisoners, a majority of these towns have been abandoned ever since the collapse of the USSR in the 90s, having a sinister feeling like you are being watched or hearing strange ambience in the surrounding area of the ghost towns.

The Chemgotan War of Independence resulted in plenty of casualties, many unmarked grave sites and skeletons still linger throughout the nation's forests and mountain ranges as they were not recovered or were not given a proper burial due to heavy fighting the war frequently had. Chemgota is also a sufferer of unexploded munitions caused by the Chemgotan War of Independence, some landmines and unexploded shells, bombs and missiles still remain beneath the ground which could lead to large fatalities if detonated. Things like military booby traps and chemical weapons still remain as well.

Most Mammoths were extinct in Chemgota with the closing years of the Ice Age period, their skeletons can be located in permafrost within Yakutia and even as far as Wrangel Island.

There is a ghostly apparition in Chemgota named Sannikov Land, the Island north of the New Siberian Islands, Sannikov Land has always been a mystery and is considered a phantom island, however there has been many documented cases that the Land truly does exist and theories ranging that Sannikov Land could be one of the last remaining parts of the mythological Hyperborea.

During the reign of the Soviet Union, the people of present day Chemgota were convicted and were sent to the Kolyma to mine to death, they were forced to construct the Kolyma Road nicknamed the Road of Bones for it's casualties and most of the region was treated harshly, the natives too were almost eradicated by the Stalinist government and this caused millions of deaths to occur.

The government of Firepurge claims to provide a mandatory government-funded care home which the elderly are forced to go to once they reach a certain age. They claim it is compulsory to go because they want what is best for their people and the government funded care home is much better than any private facility could ever be. They claim even the rich would be better off there than in their mansions. Those who refuse to go are hunted down, arrested and taken to the care homes anyway.

Except they aren't care homes. They are death camps. The government just executes all the old people. The working class work hard all their lives, looking forwards to their luxurious retirement, and then get slaughtered. The rich build up great fortunes and plan to distribute the money between their children. Then get killed. If they haven't written their wills yet, the government takes their money.
