One of the largest genres in Cuthon is Folk, which is played by the different regions and peoples of Cuthon. The term encompasses a multitude of nationalities that each have their own unique type of folk. Modern iterations have become popular with the youth of Cuthon such as Progressive Folk, Electro Folk, among many others. Some popular instruments include the Accordion, Guitars, and the Hurdy Gurdy.

Cuthon also has its own Genre of Rock, known as Cutho-Rock. It was inspired by Western Rock due to the sheer popularity of the genre. Despite this, it received backlash due to its supposed progressiveness and rebelliousness in youths. Bands were forced to play in underground settings or face the repercussions of playing in a public space. As the nation became more liberal, restrictions on these bands lifted. One of the most popular bands to come out of this era was known as 'Three Dust', which was so distinct it created the genre well known in the present day.

Various forms of electronic music have been long time staples of the UCE, however forms of indie music, jangle pop, and rock are also popular.

Traditional Mevraqi music can best be described as "Arabic sea shanties with a heavy African influence". Many of these were later adapted into labor songs. In modern times, rock and metal predominate, although many Mevraqi bands retain a strong maritime flavor (think Alestorm but more serious).

Nixon-Paiute, for centuries and until very recently, was the home of one of the few known surviving musicians from before the Great War - Louis Robinson - and thus is best known for Jazz, particularly the Big Band and Swing styles. Aside from this influence, contemporary music carries many influences from the native and predominant Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. Latin influences also exist, as does that of the Mormons.

As many more complex instruments are difficult to obtain or produce locally (i.e. most brass instruments, pianos, some woodwinds), Nixon-Paiute music is often led by percussion or features solo lead performances of these rarer instruments. Vocals are just as often performed in English as in the Paiute language, or less commonly in Spanish.

Nixon has been resistant to adopting the nascent musical trends of adjacent polities, so styles such as post-folk, industrial ambience, and so on are more underground.

Thialrer is known for its very large electronic music industry, as well as its traditional Scottish and Kazakh music, due to the Thialren culture resulting from diffusion between Scots and Kazakhs.

Most traditional music is instrumental, played only on one dombra or on many bagpipes. Other cultured music is also common, such as work by Strauss and Tchaikovsky. Many marches used by the Thialren government are works composed by John Philip Sousa, including Semper Fidelis and The Washington Post. We have a mostly instrumental national anthem called "Thialrer Infinitum", and the Labor Party of Thialrer (a very minor left-wing party) has "The Red Flag" as its anthem. "Land of Hope and Glory" is also a common Thialren patriotic song and march.

We have a very rich musical tradition. We're very much famous for our traditional music/bluegrass, as well as being a hotspot for country music and a specific style of rock and roll with a Southern flair. We've got a lesser known but rather unique heavy metal scene, which, along with mixing in some Southern Rock influence, tends to preserve the Black Sabbath-esque Stoner-y sound that has gone out of style in it's native Britain.

The Tilminese used to be known for a massive variety of music in all genres, but The Overseers have pretty much completely destroyed it following the establishment of the federation. All music is entirely outlawed by the state, and even humming a tune or could get one sent to a concentration camp or simply burned at the stake. There is a small and massively disorganized group of underground communities who have tried to make music in secret, but the vast majority have been discovered and purged thanks to widespread surveillance. The most prominent form of music done by the few brave enough to violate the law consists humming or drumming at a surface, which is what the majority of those executed for ‘sound-crime’ played before being caught. Yeah, if you like music, you wouldn’t like the Tilminese Federation.

The Tilminese Federation is a totalitarian fascist theocracy ruled with an iron fist by The Overseers, a fanatical organization of theocratic fundamentalists seeking to eradicate ‘modern degeneracy’. Has scenic architecture, no light pollution, quiet streets and public executions for the smallest crimes. Oh and one in every four Tilminese has died from starvation, disease, execution, forced labor, and genocide ever since the Overseers have taken power but that’s not too important.

This is Korea we're talking about. The most popular forms of music from Q&K are K-pop and EDM. Quartians also tend to enjoy traditional folk songs from around the world.

We are known for diverse genres in music, few gained the most popularity amongst all other genres, and those are electronic music (predominantly trance, synth wave, and house), heavy metal, post-punk and latin pop.
Our wide territory shaped the popularity of these genres into different area of influences. For example, electronic music are mostly popular in the Western Reaches (formerly U.S west coast states), post-punk are mostly popular in the Northern Reaches (formerly Russia Far East), heavy metal are mostly in the Inner Region (formerly Japan and Taiwan) while latin pop have been popular in the Southern Reaches (formerly west coast South American countries) long before independence.
But, there's one genre that made Ascion popular across the globe, and that is Apop (Ascionese pop). Its a combination of all existing genres, and usually performed by groups consisted of men or women (or a mix of both), sometimes in form of a band or an idol group accompanied with modern dance moves.

Various forms of classic and smooth jazz have been traditionally popular alongside alternative rock, punk rock, R&B and soul.

However, over the past decade, the dominant form of music has been chiptune and vaporwave alongside its varous spin-offs such as futurefunk.
