Almurta wrote:"Almurta's people are generally anti-socialist and anti-left to the point of labor and trade unions even generally having an anti-socialist bent. How does this kind of situation make you feel?"

- Keith Fulton, A.M.C. News.

Let me be a bit selfish from time to time, and give me a pudding!
“An excellent question. In general, the United Socialist Federation of Sanghyeok, although it follows a far-left philosophy and uses Marxist-Leninism as the guiding thought, nevertheless maintains peaceful relations, and indeed sometimes cooperative nations falling in the centre-left to centre of the political spectrum. After all, the United Socialist Federation of Sanghyeok does not ever seek hostile relations with foreign powers, unless they are outright fascist.”

"In regards to the situation in your country....although it is far from ideal, I would not be opposed to establishing relations. I am a firm believer in the power of education and media in changing people's ideals, and I think better relations are in general positive towards the revolution. Perhaps the citizens of Almurta have not yet reached class consciousness or are in the early stages of doing so, in which case we would hope to educate them to create reforms in Almurta."

I have two questions.
1. What is Sanghyeok's opinion of Voxija and the Voxijan people?
2. I have heard that Sanghyeok supports LGBT+ rights. How far does that support go?

Image
It's almost teatime again!
“An excellent question. First, on the subject of LGBT+ rights. Following a period of debate, the LGBT Equality Law in 2011 changed the Civil Law of the United Socialist Federation of Sanghyeok to extend rights to LGBT+ persons. Note that despite our name as a Federation, we are a unitary state, and therefore national-level law supersedes the few local laws in all Provinces and other administrative regions. This includes civil union (the name for 'marriage' in other nations), the right to adoption, the right to express love. It also bans discrimination during employment or education on the basis of one's sexual identity, orientation, or gender expression. Finally, the law bans conversion therapies and similar harmful procedures. According to a recent survey among LGBT+ persons in the United Socialist Federation of Sanghyeok, 87% felt very comfortable expressing their non-heteronormative identity, with 10% feeling comfortable. 3% responded fair, or not comfortable. Of course, we are aiming to improve this figure. The latest law in debate is the Anti-Reactionary Speech Law, which prohibits all reactionary speech and hate speech, including hate speech towards LGBT+ persons. I am in support of this law, and will likely pass it within the next few weeks.”

"As for my personal opinion of the nation of Voxija and the people of this country, it is somewhat positive. Although the capitalist system in your country is something that should be remedied earlier than later, the good welfare system and granting of equal rights to people of all backgrounds it something to be commended for. Some of your policies, are also...in line with my personal beliefs, and the official stances of the United Socialist Federation of Sanghyeok, including those on conscription, the granting of equal rights to LGBT+ individuals, common access to abortion, for example. I wish your country the best in creating a more equal society for all. "

KFSA head and dear president Ekhon Numik’s political advisor here. Upon hearing of this Q&A, I have stumbled upon a question I have always asked any world leader I have met to see their opinions of order and authority. Would you rather be in a lawless anarchy or a totalitarian police state?”

Answering questions is too tiring. I want to drink tea and refresh myself.
“A very interesting question. However, I think your characterization of both extremes is incorrect. To categorize anarchy as lawlessness is ridiculous. To claim high totalitarianism leads to a police state is perhaps more true, although there may exist nuances. Both definitions seem too extreme.”

"That being said, I think the answer to your question would be 'it depends'. To blindly apply something is dogmatic, which must be avoided. A rack of lamb cannot be made into a pudding any more than an egg can be made into a grilled meat dish. Yet the rack of lamb can be roasted, or grilled, and stewed. The egg can be beaten, or baked, or steamed. The circumstances are of course, important, and without those specifics I am unfortunately lacking in an answer."

“Hi! Hi! So! This is a really informal question! I like those more than formal ones! They’re easier! Anyway! Umm! So! You’ve lived for a very long time, right!? So! A lot of people have asked you about love things before, but I want to ask you the really big love question! Have you ever loved someone before!? You don’t have to say much if you don’t want to! I just want to know!”

Love? Right now, not really...unless pudding counts?
“Love is one of my favourite subjects in poetry, and in writing. So perhaps many people are surprised when they learn, I have not truly loved since the end of the 13th century. You might expect someone of my age to have loved many people, or even hated many people, but the fact is that as the years cycle past, one's emotion toward others tends to dampen. What good does it to love or to hate when in end, they are all mortal and I am not? I wouldn't want to waste someone's lives in a hateful relationship with them, just as I would have too much guilt to love someone and see them inevitably age, and die. So for me, until the rest of humanity becomes immortal as I am, will refuse to love. It is the proper thing to do.”

"Of course, it does not mean I have not felt love. Nor does it mean I have not been loved before. Actually, back during my time at Cambridge, I received not a few love letters, although I was not fond of any of them. Those I loved, and those who loved me, I can still remember their names. The last person I loved was a friend of mine from Kyoto before the Onin Wars, but that is for another time. I hope this answers your question."

-社会主義連邦政府主席、統一戦線総書記、人民軍隊最高指導者 大宮 咲来

Note from Sato Hitomo, Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The below is one love letter written to Chairwoman Oomiya during her time at Cambridge.

To Oomiya Sakura

Spring has brought with it a radiant dawn, freed from the chill of Winter
As all of Earth under Heaven is enveloped by a gentle breeze of late-April
And like the sunshine that nurtures the Sakura* buds
The affection within my heart, grows as well, and unlocks

Though I am not worthy to gaze upon you directly
Should you accept my feelings,
I will be by your side, clear skies or dark clouds,
Unleaving, loyal, caring
For the rest of this life, and the next.

Yours truly,
April Park

*Sakura is a wordplay of both the cherry blossoms that bloom in late April and Chairwoman Oomiya's name, although they are spelled with different Kanji character

Such an army is important for any revolutionary state and indeed movement. “Ahhh, pleased to meet you comrade, even if your social views are that of anarchists. Speaking with people actually on the political compass is rather strange, since I am so accustomed to off-scale absolute totalitarian regimentation over every aspect of existence that I guess everything seems anarchist. But anyway, of all the communist figures in the hundreds of years that communism has existed, who is your favorite?”

Shrek may or may not have killed three hundred million people
tl;dr - after nuclear war, corrupt oligarchical hellhole emerges. ogre leads revolution, kills oligarchs after civil war, improves quality of life with progressive social policies and industrialization. couple foreign invasions, assassination attempts, personal losses, and rebellions later, ogre goes psychotic and kills anyone he’s sus of. then a fascist midget invades and kills third of the population, ogre manages to defeat him but goes completely bonkers.
now we got a hyper-totalitarian hyper-militaristic industrial hive-mind quasi-slave state that the ogre 70 years ago would be horrified at

An interesting question....
“First, I want to reject your claim that my social views are those of anarchists. Although I have great empathy for the anarchist movements, seeing them as leftist comrades, I myself am not an anarchist, indeed I classify myself as Marxist-Leninist and believe in the importance of the strong state, at least immediately following revolution and during creation of the new society. I believe that supporting strong social freedoms are necessary for anyone who is on the left of the political spectrum. To be a leftist is to support...civil rights and equality."

"Regarding your question then: I have had many political figures I've admired through the centuries, and indeed many of them were neither communist nor socialist. Yet of course my favorite political figure is certainly Marx himself, although I have never met him when he was alive. His readings are at the heart of my personal governing philosophy, and he has done more for the benefit of this world than any other human."

Marx said that “religion is the opiate of the people.” However, religious philosophy has much to contribute to philosophical thought as a whole. What is your stance on religious belief and religious philosophy?

Although atheism is much endorsed by Communists, I believe that the contributions of religious philosophy should not be overlooked. Our understanding regarding the relationship between religion and Communism must take into account the complexities that result from many centuries of religious discussion and insight, as well as the deeply religious nature of human history. How does the Federation approach religious communities?

And, in regards to our previous discussion, I'd like to point out one thing: I don't identify as an anarchist, regardless of how many may percieve my writings as anarchistic. Authority is fully legitimatised in my opinion, although... perhaps that's a topic for our next meeting.

Does your nation treat all its citizens equally irregardless of their age or do you engage in disgusting acts of age based discrimination such as forbidding certain age groups access to alcohol, drugs or physical love or treating them as second class citizens by denying them equal responsibility for the crimes they commit just because they belong in said age group?

Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.

Wuchu wrote:Marx said that “religion is the opiate of the people.” However, religious philosophy has much to contribute to philosophical thought as a whole.

Authority is fully legitimatised in my opinion, although... perhaps that's a topic for our next meeting.[/box]

“First, thank you for clarifying your own opinion regarding authority. Although your writing gives the feeling you are against the existence of the state in general, I am happy you could share your thoughts in place of interpretation.”

"In my personal belief, I am not a religious person. Over the years I have grown disillusioned with the Gods, should they exist. Gods, time and again, did not seem to listen to the cries of our human voices, and I believe they have abandoned us if they exist at all. I am similarly inclined to dislike religious institutions in general, seeing them as mostly corrupt. However, I believe that religion as a concept is important and indeed respectable. Many good and bad things have been committed in the name of a religion, but perhaps the good outweighs the bad. My interpretation of the Marx quote is that the great philosopher was criticizing not religion in general, but dogmatic approaches to religion, and the religious establishment. Religion does not need to conflict with revolutionary ideals as class struggle. Indeed, there are even some Christians, for example, who supported our movements as they believed Jesus to be a socialist. Finally, about the stance of the Federation towards religion, people have the right to practice religion, and shall not be discriminated on the basis of having or not having religion. One last note: the Federation itself is not an atheist state, but there are many atheists in the population. "

“Thank you for your question.”

"In general, citizens are guaranteed certain inalienable rights at birth. However, several other rights are not to be exercised until several ages. For example, the right to vote is not available until age 20. This is due to the compulsory education not ending until age 20, and we desire all citizens to make informed votes. In regards to drug and alcohol...generally, the restrictions exist due to the damage this may cause on development."

“Thank you for your offer and kind words. ”

"First of all, the United Socialist Federation of Sanghyeok is indeed planning on establishing diplomatic relations with Linkers Sha. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been in discussion for some time about opening an embassy in the capital of Linkers Sha, and I hope our two governments can increase co-operation in various areas. Regarding the visit to Linkers Sha, I would indeed like to but it doesn't appear I will have time this year. Please contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs if you wish to arrange either a state visit to the United Socialist Federation or would like to meet with a higher-level official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
