We should get back to the usual discussion on the benefits of putting Asparagus into crew rations and optimal squad composition. Right now I'm revisitng the squad composition for my recent ship bucket challenge. Armor is of course FT and not strictly realistic but I kinda want to determine a realistic squad composition.

I give it a solid 5/7. Grenade launchers are preferred over commando mortars and you're issuing both a machine pistol and a normal one. When do your soldiers get a standard issue optic? That's certainly a decision I agree with.

That's certainly a reasonable date. What are the pistols chambered in? TPFII is probably going to end up with a stocked machine pistol, serving as a cavalry carbine, that fires a round designed to replicate the .25-20 out of a rifle barrel. It'd be pretty zippy but should be doable.

the pistols are chambered in 7.7x23mm, which is a slightly smaller 7.62x25mm Tokarev round

APC vs. IFV depends on your doctrine and whether or not the vehicle is expected to support the infantry. BTR vs BMP is a bit of an apples and oranges comparison since one has tracks and one has wheels, though the comparison is understandable. The MT-LB derivatives are also worth considering.
