You can spend your hard earned beans on burning a flag if you want. No one's gonna stop you but if you burn a whole bunch of them on a bonfire, you might be at risk of coming foul of clean air laws depending on where you do. We would also recommend during summer to carefully dispose of your flag to prevent fires.

Burning Osuwa's flag is legal and protected by free speech. However, due to the Osuwan people's rather strong patriotism and nationalism, you will probably face harassment and condemnation from any witnesses while the police look the other way. However, this depends on the state or interstellar colony you burn the flag in; you're more likely to face criticism if you burn the flag in a more conservative state or colony as opposed to more liberal areas.

The act of burning the flag of the Ostoderstein Provisional Government is considered protected speech and, by itself, isn't an offense.

On the other hand, the battle standard of the Ostoderstein Foreign Legion is considered military property, and isn't authorized for physical copy and redistribution outside of the military. Damaging or defacing the battle standard in any way is punishable by fines and a maximum prison sentence of five years for civilians, and dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and a maximum sentence of ten years in a penal barracks for military personnel.

If the crime occurred outside of a military establishment, an investigation is also launched to determine the flag's distributor. Individual distributors face fines and a maximum prison sentence of ten years if a civilian, and dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and a maximum sentence of fifteen years in a penal barracks if military personnel. Business entities that distribute the flag face asset forfeiture, with all individual officers, employees, and agents subject to civilian sentencing. Others determined to have intentionally received a copy of the battle standard of the OFL from the distributor, but have not damaged or defaced it (i.e. displaying it in their home or office) receive fines and mandatory community service, or a maximum of one year in prison.

It's legal for both the national flag and foreign flags.

Not a crime (on it's own, if combined with treasonous speech, could land you fined or in a prison for a few years), however very unpopular and will get people to not associate with you.

Burning the Commonwealth flag is not illegal within the Kalagors or Tinaria star systems, however it is outlawed in the moderately more socially conservative Genenia system, where burning a flag is punishable by a fine of 400 certs. (Equal to about $152 USD in 1997 certs)

Users bearing the flag are instructed via law to burn the flag only as an emergency source of heat, or in the rare circumstance that a rebellion sees it necessary to burn the symbol in favor of a new one. Any other unlicensed burning is a call for 15 years in prison at maximum.

It would earn a shrug, and probably directions to the nearest harbor or airport ticket office. "We're small enough, why are you here if you don't want to be?"

Let's see...

Vandalism - 15 years
Destruction of Government Identified material - 50 years
Anti-Patriotic Matter - 6 months
Destruction via Arson - 70 years (homes and others [flags in category])
Destruction of National/International flag - 25 years + 10,000 Sherpusian Franc Fine (23,800 USD)

However, if the person is required to have heat, burning the flag is legal, if they lie about this, that adds a life sentence (Classified as 500 years in Sherpus).

160 years and 6 months.
LIARS GET 560 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS
135 if that fine is paid, but wow. Don't do it here man.
YET FINERS ARE 535 YEAR AND 6 MONTH SERVERS!
