Would you like to receive a TG updating you when your nation has been scored? Sure

SECTION ONE - Physical Safety
Do citizens of your cities report feeling unsafe while travelling alone during the day? Yes. There is some trepidation about entering quarters with large immigrant populations but they are not statistically any more unsafe.
Do citizens of your cities report feeling unsafe while travelling alone during the night? Yes, within reason and when not behaving stupidly.
Are major metropolitan areas monitored for crime by police or other agencies? All incorporated locales are routinely patrolled by relevant agencies. CCTV is employed selectively to monitor major government, touristic areas and is often employed by and furnished to relevant agencies by private property owners. Rural areas can still expect a patrol by the gendarmerie at least once a day.
Are most public areas of large towns and cities well-lit at night? Public gathering areas and arterial and collector thoroughfares are well lit. Local, detour, and other routes vary morese.
Do members of the police patrol cities and towns regularly? See above answer about monitoring.

SECTION TWO - Cybersafety
Are children of your nation's schools taught basic principles of online safety? Responsible use of technology is a major component of instruction in schools run under the tripartite convention, and is taught in most other schools.
Is there a branch of the police or government dedicated to investigating cybercrime? The national police and gendarmerie both have dedicated cybercribe units and can coordinate with national security services if needed. Municipal police departments will need to pass cases on.
Does your government actively filter or block materials such as child exploitative content? Schools and government systems employ a myriad of technologies and methods to block inappropriate content.
Is your nation home to any groups or individuals who are notable for online scams? Not particularly.
Are children adequately protected from pornography and other harmful materials online? See above or filtering. However, in the home this is the responsibility of parents.

SECTION THREE - Societal Issues
What percentage of the population struggles with mental health issues like depression or anxiety? NGOs report a rate of 20 to 25%. Government figures 11 to 14% reflecting different interpretations and definitions. Government figures reflect solely diagnosed conditions receiving professional treatment but also includes disorders that other nations may not consider a mental health issue on its own.
What is the rate of suicide per capita/100,000? Roughly 2.
What percentage of the adult population are obese or overweight? 5% (nutrition education is a major part of education through the age of 13 to 14, with mandatory physical education through the end of secondary school followed by compulsory military service)
Are LGBT+ individuals heavily discriminated against? LGB individuals do not face systemic discrimination. So-called 'transgender' individuals are generally treated with either pity or scorn and in need of psychological intervention and treatment.
What is the average lifespan (across the entire population) in your nation? 85.7 years

SECTION FOUR - Safety of Children
Is bullying prevalent in the nation's schools? Low-level bullying is prevalent and encouraged.
What percentage of births result in death for the mother or child? ~8 per 100,000 live births which equates to .008%
What percentage of the child population are obese or overweight? 2% obese. Statistics for overweight are considered to be unreliable due to the crudeness of BMI as a measurement of health within the education system
Are children subject to special laws regarding their labour and work conditions? Yes. There are systemic programs of vocational education that involve monitored work experience. Teenage workers are subject to strict limitations as to when and for how long they may work.
Are children expected to serve in the nation's armed services below the age of 18? De jure, it is technically possible. De facto this would not be permitted to occur and some waiver or deferment of mandatory service would be located. This does not, however, apply to students who choose to attend a military school for their secondary education (technically they are not 'serving' as such while at the school, but choosing to attend carries a binding commitment to pursue an assigned military career track with a much increased mandatory service period, generally in the officer corps or as a technical specialist role).

SECTION FIVE - Government
Are your nation's health services considered to be of an internationally acceptable standard? Healthcare is generally considered to be of good quality. Insurance generally operates on the principal that personal responsibility decreases as the severity of illness or injury increases, with routine and preventative care expected to be entirely self funded. Such care is generally considered to be above average in quality and reasonable in cost. Charity care is available and is considered to be of relatively inferior quality of basic in nature, but meets all meaningful international standards of minimal quality.
Does your nation have a fire service which is easily accessible to the population? Fire service is generally available, although obviously response times increase the more rural one becomes.
Does your nation have an ambulance service which is easily accessible to the population? Ambulance services are generally available, though response times can vary, especially in rural areas.
Is your nation currently involved in a war or armed conflict within its borders? No

SECTION SIX - Crime Rates
What percentage of your population have been a victim of crime in the past year? 5%, roughly (excludes foreign tourists and certain offenses deemed to be petty to be tracked )
What is the rate of intentional homicide per capita/100,000? .835 (excludes homicides that were deemed justified, justifiable, or otherwise legal)
What is the rate of rape per capita/100,000? Official rate is 14.1, but NGOs suspect the actual rate is considerably higher, as domestic crimes and same-sex assaults are believed to grossly underreported
What is the rate of sexual assault/harassment per capita/100,000? This is not kept track of separately from above.
What is the rate of minor physical assault per capita/100,000? This is not tracked separately from the below.
What is the rate of serious physical assault or attempted murder per capita/100,000? 13 per 100,000
What is the rate of manslaughter per capita/100,000? Not tracked. Manslaughter is not recognized in Roman law.
What is the rate of drug-related offences per capita/100,000? 4 (excludes cannabis, minor club drugs, and simple possession)
What is the rate of burglary per capita/100,000? 5
What is the rate of serious financial crime per capita/100,000? 24, although this is an amalgam of both general white collar crime, tax evasion, fraud, and several types of theft.

END

Are major metropolitan areas monitored for crime by police or other agencies? Essentially everywhere in Sagrea is heavily monitored by the police.
Are most public areas of large towns and cities well-lit at night? Yes, this is considered mandatory by the state to minimize crime.
Do members of the police patrol cities and towns regularly? Absolutely. The day you don't see police in Sagrea is the day hell freezes over.

SECTION TWO - Cybersafety
Are children of your nation's schools taught basic principles of online safety? Absolutely. For any Sagrean, it is important to know how to use any tool properly, especially one as prevalent as the internet.
Is there a branch of the police or government dedicated to investigating cybercrime? Yes and they often work with the National Information Department for online security.
Does your government actively filter or block materials such as child exploitative content? The government is the only internet provider for the nation so any criminal content is blocked and investigated.
Is your nation home to any groups or individuals who are notable for online scams? No because crime is harshly suppressed and very easy to track online.
Are children adequately protected from pornography and other harmful materials online? Absolutely. Any material deemed harmful to the populace is restricted via the government internet source and those underage are unable to access adult material via their government-provided accounts until they reach legal age.

SECTION THREE - Societal Issues
What percentage of the population struggles with mental health issues like depression or anxiety? Only about 4% but this number is steadily decreasing due to adequate and easily accessible care provided by the government's healthcare.
What is the rate of suicide per capita/100,000? <1 per 100,000
What percentage of the adult population are obese or overweight? <1%. Being overweight causes many health issues and inhibits work ethic so Sagreans try to avoid it as much as possible, and the state provides proper care to facilitate this.
Are LGBT+ individuals heavily discriminated against? No. There has never been stigma against LGBT people in Sagrea and they live their lives as anyone else would (Sagrea scored 89.5 in your LGBT+ Rights Index).
What is the average lifespan (across the entire population) in your nation? about 88 years.

SECTION FOUR - Safety of Children
Is bullying prevalent in the nation's schools? No. Sagreans heavily value Sagrean unity so any form of bullying is quickly reprimanded, though is very rare anyway sue to the cultural value.
What percentage of births result in death for the mother or child? <1% due to easily accessible healthcare.
What percentage of the child population are obese or overweight? 0%. No parent allows this to happen and if they did they would lose their parental license for child abuse.
Are children subject to special laws regarding their labour and work conditions? All work for minors is prohibited as the state mandates they must receive education until then.
Are children expected to serve in the nation's armed services below the age of 18? No, they are conscripted once they turn 18.

SECTION FIVE - Government
Are your nation's health services considered to be of an internationally acceptable standard? It is actually considered to be above the standard. Healthcare is provided to all citizens by the government and is paid for by taxes. Because of the Sagrean standard to constantly progress and advance, giving less than the best is (quite literally) criminal.
Are the police or your nation's equivalent easily accessible to the population? It is harder to find somewhere with no police than somewhere with.
Does your nation have a fire service which is easily accessible to the population? Absolutely. The National Fire Administration has stations all over the nation equipped with the best resources available.
Does your nation have an ambulance service which is easily accessible to the population? Yes as this is part of the well-provided healthcare plan for the government.
Is your nation currently involved in a war or armed conflict within its borders? No, thankfully.

SECTION SIX - Crime Rates
What percentage of your population have been a victim of crime in the past year? <1%
What is the rate of intentional homicide per capita/100,000? 1

What is the rate of sexual assault/harassment per capita/100,000? 0.4
What is the rate of minor physical assault per capita/100,000? 0.5
What is the rate of serious physical assault or attempted murder per capita/100,000? 0.3
What is the rate of manslaughter per capita/100,000? 0.8
What is the rate of drug-related offences per capita/100,000? 1.6 (note this does not include cannabis as it is legal)
What is the rate of burglary per capita/100,000? 0. Everyone must be employed by the state and most things are provided by the state so there isn't a reason to steal.

END
Are you satisfied with this index? Yes
Any ideas or suggestions on how it could be improved? No

Would you like to receive a TG updating you when your nation has been scored? Yes

SECTION ONE - Physical Safety
Do citizens of your cities report feeling unsafe while travelling alone during the day? Generally No. It is quite rare to feel unsafe while traveling alone during the day in any part of the country
Do citizens of your cities report feeling unsafe while travelling alone during the night? Generally No, though it is somewhat more common than to feel so during the day
Are major metropolitan areas monitored for crime by police or other agencies? Yes. Every province has a modernized police force that monitors the area for crime. There is also the National Gendarme, which handles any particularly dangerous situations.
Are most public areas of large towns and cities well-lit at night? Generally Yes.
Do members of the police patrol cities and towns regularly? Yes

SECTION TWO - Cybersafety
Are children of your nation's schools taught basic principles of online safety? Yes
Is there a branch of the police or government dedicated to investigating cybercrime? Most Police Departments and the National Gendarme have Cybercrime divisions, and those which do not instead have cyber units within other task forces
Does your government actively filter or block materials such as child exploitative content? Yes. That in particular is particularly targeted by the police.
Is your nation home to any groups or individuals who are notable for online scams? Out of a population of 118 million, there are certainly some online scam rings, however, they are frequently investigated and shut down/forced to go dark and reorganize later.
Are children adequately protected from pornography and other harmful materials online? Yes. Pornography is seriously restricted in the country generally, but it is especially illegal to expose it to children.

SECTION THREE - Societal Issues
What percentage of the population struggles with mental health issues like depression or anxiety? 5.15%
What is the rate of suicide per capita/100,000? 9.5 per 100,000
What percentage of the adult population are obese or overweight? 9%
Are LGBT+ individuals heavily discriminated against? To use your own Rankings from the relevant index, we are in the higher-scored end of "Prohibitive." That said, there is little direct violence (and all of said violence is entirely illegal) involved in the earning of that score.
What is the average lifespan (across the entire population) in your nation? 80.2 years

SECTION FOUR - Safety of Children
Is bullying prevalent in the nation's schools? Bullying is taken seriously as an issue and levels have dropped to a relatively low level among countries.
What percentage of births result in death for the mother or child? 0.452%, or <1/200 births (Note, this percentage was formed by combining all infant mortality (4.52 per 1,000) with rates of maternal death during childbirth (12 per 100,000), and may represent a broader selection of events than what the question is directly asking, particularly on the child end).
What percentage of the child population are obese or overweight? 3%
Are children subject to special laws regarding their labour and work conditions? Yes. Only teenagers (14+, 12+ in their own family's small business) are allowed to work at all, and then only in jobs that dont handle dangerous substances or heavy machinery, and only 20 hours a week with no work hours after 8 pm.
Are children expected to serve in the nation's armed services below the age of 18? No. The conscription selection process begins at 18. That said, Physical Education in schools is largely military-styled (though with age-appropriate expectations)

SECTION FIVE - Government
Are your nation's health services considered to be of an internationally acceptable standard? Our heath system is world-class
Are the police or your nation's equivalent easily accessible to the population? Yes. They have a quick dial emergency number and stations are spaced to provide strong coverage.
Does your nation have a fire service which is easily accessible to the population? Yes. They have all the same stipulations as police in the last section
Does your nation have an ambulance service which is easily accessible to the population? Yes. They have all the same stipulations as above
Is your nation currently involved in a war or armed conflict within its borders? No (There is some geopolitical tension in our Northern Waters, but force analysis indicates that any war that breaks out would quickly be pushed firmly into making the prospective enemy nation's territory the theater of war)

SECTION SIX - Crime Rates
What percentage of your population have been a victim of crime in the past year?
What is the rate of intentional homicide per capita/100,000? 1.1
What is the rate of rape per capita/100,000? 3.47
What is the rate of sexual assault/harassment per capita/100,000? This is quite a broad question. it has been estimated the annual rate of receiving some level of sexual harassment is as high as 520 people per 100,000. However, the annual rate of non-rape sexual assault is 10.23 per 100,000 people
What is the rate of minor physical assault per capita/100,000? 66.7/100,000
What is the rate of serious physical assault or attempted murder per capita/100,000? 1.9/100,000
What is the rate of manslaughter per capita/100,000? 2.3/100,000
What is the rate of drug-related offences per capita/100,000? 247/100,000
What is the rate of burglary per capita/100,000? 182.34/100,000
What is the rate of serious financial crime per capita/100,000? 4.2/100,000

END
Are you satisfied with this index? More or less
Any ideas or suggestions on how it could be improved? The Sexual assault/harassment question combines two questions that could have rather different answers. Furthermore, it is comparatively difficult to find statistics by IRL country on it than on other crimes in the crime section, as results for rape per capita by country pop up in searches for it. this means that this question is comparatively more seceptible to author assumptions of what an ad hoc invented number conveys than with other crimes

Postby Mensun » Mon Jan 02, 2023 3:36 pm

Information:
Full nation name (including pretitle): The Imperial Dominium of Mensun.
Would you like to receive a TG updating you when your nation has been scored? Yes, please.

SECTION ONE - Physical Safety
Do citizens of your cities report feeling unsafe while travelling alone during the day? The average citizen almost certainly does not. Cities, and other locales, are extremely safe during the day.
Do citizens of your cities report feeling unsafe while travelling alone during the night? The average citizen almost certainly does not. Though there is slightly more danger during the night than during the day, the increase in cities is not nearly as stark as in most other nations, so a citizen in a city will often feel only slightly less safe in night than in day.
Are major metropolitan areas monitored for crime by police or other agencies? There are very regular and very frequent patrols by the police in all villages, towns, and cities across Mensun. These patrols are usually armed. Checkpoints are existent across all major lines of transportation, which monitor ingress and egress of metropolitan areas. In the capital city and some other large cities, there are patrols by the Imperial Guard as well as the police. Security cameras are also present in all metropolitan areas, often multiple per building, including ones within citizen’s homes and places of business. These cameras vary in how often they are viewed, from occasionally to constantly, but all footage is permanently stored. Furthermore, all non-exempt adults wear trackers when leaving the house, the data from which is monitored to prevent criminal gangs from appearing.
Are most public areas of large towns and cities well-lit at night? All cities are very well-lit, to the point that finding an area of complete darkness would be close to impossible. The same is true of large towns, as well as most smaller ones.
Do members of the police patrol cities and towns regularly? Patrols happen very regularly and very frequently. In smaller areas, they might consist of no more than three, which is the minimal number for any patrol, while cities could have up to six officers in a patrol. These patrols are usually armed, with exceptions due to a lack of budget or training rather than by design.

SECTION TWO - Cybersafety
Are children of your nation's schools taught basic principles of online safety? There is no internet in Mensun, but an intranet. The internet is not accessible without going to a specialised terminus, which only adults are usually allowed to access. Nonetheless, children are taught about how to stay safe generally during classes on Citizenship, and this includes the basic principles of cybersafety. Anyone who would need access to the internet must complete a course first, which covers cybersecurity in that context.
Is there a branch of the police or government dedicated to investigating cybercrime? The Order of Cyberspatial Security is a branch, termed an order, of the police. This branch is dedicated to reducing the extremely low level of cybercrime, given a regulated intranet, even further. It is associated with the Ministry for the Intranet, which is a governmental ministry responsible for the intranet more generally.
Does your government actively filter or block materials such as child exploitative content? Such content would not even be allowed to be released in the first place, since it would usually be flagged by whatever device is connected to the intranet. Where it is not, the government would remove it from the intranet as soon as this is possible. Given that the government has total control over the intranet, this is usually soon. If an individual goes to a public terminus in order to access the external internet, then automatic warnings are present over any material deemed potentially harmful or hazardous. However, only defamatory, libellous, or crime-inciting content is actually blocked.
Is your nation home to any groups or individuals who are notable for online scams? No; this is not the case. There are no groups or individuals who are notable for online scams. The government would not allow any materials on the intranet to be fraudulent, and the police would likely intervene if someone were to attempt to defraud those in other nations, not that this happens often enough to be of concern.
Are children adequately protected from pornography and other harmful materials online? Yes; children are thoroughly and entirely removed from pornography. Pornography is only available to children who are over fifteen, when the government regards them as being mature enough to handle pornographers, and this is only a restricted subset of pornography. Only those over eighteen are given full access to the entire intranet, which is regulated anyway.

SECTION THREE - Societal Issues
What percentage of the population struggles with mental health issues like depression or anxiety? 19.3% do. This statistic is tracked comprehensively.
What is the rate of suicide per capita/100,000? 0.8 people manage to successfully commit suicide. However, this is lowered substantially from attempted suicide, due to superb healthcare and constant surveillance.
What percentage of the adult population are obese or overweight? 43.5% are. The government continually tries unsuccessfully to lower this.
Are LGBT+ individuals heavily discriminated against? No; discrimination against LGBT individuals is rare.
What is the average lifespan (across the entire population) in your nation? The average lifespan in 90.4 years.

SECTION FOUR - Safety of Children
Is bullying prevalent in the nation's schools? Bullying is very rare. Schools are mandated to have surveillance in every room in order to prevent bullying, and the culture of Mensun emphasises collectivism rather than individualism, both of which lower bullying.
What percentage of births result in death for the mother or child? 0.003% do.
What percentage of the child population are obese or overweight? 11.9% are. Obesity in children is limited by mandatory physical education, as well as the fact that all meals in school are provided by the school.
Are children subject to special laws regarding their labour and work conditions? Yes; children cannot work at all if they are below the age of twelve, and they can work only part-time until they are eighteen. The jobs in which children can work are also heavily restricted, with a positive emphasis on jobs that teach moral character or educate children. Children between twelve and fifteen can legally work in very few occupations, while those between fifteen and eighteen have more options, but they still cannot do anything dangerous or harmful.
Are children expected to serve in the nation's armed services below the age of 18? Actual employment in the military is forbidden for all children. However, there exist military schools that take children as young as nine. Though these do not feature any roles in combat, on the frontlines, or indeed even take children within sight of a gun, there is some element of preparation for later joining the military.

SECTION FIVE - Government
Are your nation's health services considered to be of an internationally acceptable standard? Yes; the service for health are all run by the government and they are excellent.
Are the police or your nation's equivalent easily accessible to the population? The police are readily available, with there being at least one station in every town and village, and at least three in every city. There are also phones across Mensun to access the police, along with regular patrols.
Does your nation have a fire service which is easily accessible to the population? Yes; the fire service is run by the government, and it is readily accessible.
Does your nation have an ambulance service which is easily accessible to the population? Yes; the medical service is run by the government, and it is readily accessible. Unless a citizen resides in a very remote area, such as on the side of a mountain, there will be an ambulance very quickly. With the very high urbanisation of Mensun, such remote locations are becoming increasingly rare.
Is your nation currently involved in a war or armed conflict within its borders? No, Mensun has not fought a war inside its borders since WWII.

SECTION SIX - Crime Rates
What percentage of your population have been a victim of crime in the past year? 0.0002%, this crime rate is accurately recorded, due to survelliance.
What is the rate of intentional homicide per capita/100,000? It is around 0.1.
What is the rate of rape per capita/100,000? It is around 0.2.
What is the rate of sexual assault/harassment per capita/100,000? It is around 0.8.
What is the rate of minor physical assault per capita/100,000? It is around 0.6.
What is the rate of serious physical assault or attempted murder per capita/100,000? It is around 0.3.
What is the rate of manslaughter per capita/100,000? It is around 0.1.
What is the rate of drug-related offences per capita/100,000? It is around 0.0. Drug offences are virtually nonexistent, since the border is tightly controlled and all farmers must register their entire economic activities. There is no likely way for drugs to even enter the country.
What is the rate of burglary per capita/100,000? It is around 0.9.
What is the rate of serious financial crime per capita/100,000? It is around 0.08. All monetary transactions are logged by the government, and paper money is nonexistent, with all transactions being digital, so it is rare for financial crime to be possible.

END
Are you satisfied with this index? Yes.
Any ideas or suggestions on how it could be improved? No.
This is a puppet of Kenmoria. Mensun and Kenmoria have no IC connection.

Do citizens of your cities report feeling unsafe while travelling alone during the day? The average citizen almost certainly does not. Cities are extremely safe during the day.
Do citizens of your cities report feeling unsafe while travelling alone during the night? The average citizen almost certainly does not feel unsafe. Are major metropolitan areas monitored for crime by police or other agencies? There are very regular and very frequent patrols by the police in all villages, towns, and cities across Orientia. Patrols are often armed with a revolver/taser.
In the capital city and some other large cities, there are patrols by the police, that is connected to the Federal Investigation Agency. Security cameras are also present in all metropolitan areas, often multiple per building, including ones within place of business (installed voluntarily by business owner) and apartment entrances/hallways. These cameras vary in how often they are viewed, from occasionally to constantly, but all footage is permanently stored.
Are most public areas of large towns and cities well-lit at night? All cities are very well-lit. Dark areas in the cities are almost non-existent. The same is true of large towns, as well as most smaller ones.
Do members of the police patrol cities and towns regularly? Patrols happen regularly, day and night. In smaller cities, they might consist of no more than three, which is the minimal number for patrolling officers. While big cities could have up to six officers in a patrol. These patrols are usually armed with a revolver/taser, but only used when they are in an unavoidable situations.

Due to the government interference in ISPs regarding internet contents, contents that promotes adultery, violence, communism, and suicidal tendencies are censored.
