What does your flag mean?

[Somerania]

As people can see my flag has the pan Slavic tricolour which is based on Russia's flag during the 18th and 19th century, the emblem on the middle represents south Slavic unity containing the emblems of Serbia, Croatia, the triglav mountains a symbol of Slovenia, north Macedonian flag, some random lion in the middle and finally a Bosnian colours Fleur de lis which was in Bosnia's official flag between 1991 and 1998

[The Piratini Republic]

Green represents nature, specifically the Pampas. Red stands for our revolutionary spirit and the courage of the Piratinese. Yellow represents the riches of our land. In the middle stands our coat of arms.

[Yavakhstan]

The colour blue represents the sky.
Yellow, the sun.
The symbol represents the crown of a yurt, representing home and the traditional nomadic way of life which is still lived by many in Yavakhstan.

The flag consists of the representation of the Aten, the symbol in the world of the One God Ra-Horus, upon a field of black, the traditional color of fertility and prosperity.

Voxija's flag is simply the Basque flag. It symbolizes Voxija's Basque heritage.

The two crosses represent our christian roots and heritage, the one in the background being a cross of Saint George, the other being a saltire or Cross of Saint Andrews, in the style of a Cross of Burgundy.
We as a nation mainly stems from Burgundy, descendants of Charlemagne and the Franks.
The colours represent the old Franks and their realms. blue for the French part, red for the German part.

[Mobius and the Biscay]

The Mobian flag is a vertical tricolour that has its origins in the Revolutions of 1848. Indeed, the vertical lines are based off the French flag. Yellow represents freedom and peace, white represents unity, and red represents the patriotic valour of the Mobian peoples. The escutcheon in the middle represents the House of McCloud, the ruling family.

Our flag represents each of ethnic groups nations that shaped Catarra. Blue for French heritage, orange for the yellow+red of the Catalan aragonese crown and papacy white for Italian german heritage.

[Grand Caledonia]

Our Tricolour flag symbolizes national independence, the natural beauty of our country, and democratic republican values. Green represents the nation's fields, forests, and natural resources. White represents peace, clouds, and forward-looking ideals. Blue represents the sky, the Pacific Ocean and the myriad of rivers across the continent. The Red Star represents Democratic Socialism, along with the leading classes of the revolution (workers, peasants, intellectuals, youth, and soldiers). The colour red symbolizes the struggle for freedom, democracy and peace and sacrifice made during the nation's revolution.

The crest is read from the inside out. The symbol for unity is white- an agnostic color- ensconced in dark blue, the traditional color of the Xanthalian democratic movement. Purple blends the red and blue colors associated with socialist and capitalist factions, which creates prosperity, represented by gold. The arrangement is meant to evoke alignment and symmetry while drawing the eye back and forth across each as a distinct idea. The ribbon uses the same color scheme and represents the complex cultural identities of the nations which make up the Federation, woven together in a coherent and beautiful pattern. Taken as a whole, the flag should preserve the perception of contrast and still conjure a sense of amity and balance.

Incidentally, black is not a required part of the design; originally it was simply a neutral color to place the crest and ribbon against (chosen over white to allow the unity symbol to "pop" more in the crest and to better define the gold). The crest and ribbon can each be "properly" displayed- alone or together- on any background. Over time, however, many have come to consider black as part of the symbolism of the flag: the space which surrounds the worlds of the Federation, or the void against which the values represented in the emblems are given meaning. As a result it's rare to see other colors chosen as a background except to defy expectation or make a statement, but it's not uncommon to see the background omitted entirely when the symbols are printed on an existing surface, especially if depicted alone or in different orientations.

The Unity

The flag itself only depicts a sunrise on the sea. Most of you don't know this but the flag is actually one of the flags designed and used by secessionist of Goetland/Uesia/Nguyuit (Wu Chinese-speaking region, including Shanghai, Zhejiang, south Jiangsu, south Anhui, and northeast Jiangxi; its English name, like its flag, is not determined yet). The flag shows our connection with the East Sea and our hope to be independent from China (when the sun rises, the stars will disappear).
All information I can find is either in Mandarin or in Wu Chinese, so I'm not going to post any links here.

The Flag of Kedri has a blue field, which represents the nation's nautical heritage, the fact that it is an archipelago surrounded by ocean, and it also stands for liberty.

The wh te waves stand for peace. The black ship emphasizes Kedri's defense force and how it will not give in for what believes. The yellow star stands for prosperity and greatness.

I picked the blue and gold on my flag because I originally liked those colors as a kid (I was 12 when I made the first one.) The pirate skull in my nation's canon deals with the state's current constitution, based off the Pirate's Code of Conduct, and recent revolt against the previous authoritarian administration.

Red is the color of socialist revolution. The white stripe represents the Milky Way as seen in the night sky. The crescent and the space station represent progress and space colonialism, and they are intentionally arranged like the hammer and sickle as the representation of an ideal communist society.

[Arcadian Union]

The flag of Arcadia gets it's history from the Arcadian revolution of 1793 that toppled the Monarchy and began the era of the republic. The colors of the tricolor are:

Blue: Representing the oceans, sky and a brighter future

White: Representing peace, unity and equality

Green: Representing nature and liberty

[Kashimura]

The flag of both our city-state, Kashimura, and of our realm, the Yomese Empire, are the Blood Moon of the Demon Lord Ninetails, founder from our classical era. The visage of nine tails raked across the moon in the night sky is the crest of the royal family.
Also present on NS are two of our subject city-states, Volkovgorod and Maochengshi.
The Volkovian state flag features the black of the night sky as well as a red crescent moon, an homage to the Kashimuran flag, though the black was also chosen to contrast the other colors. The white wolf represents Mother Amaterasu, but moreso the proud Volkovian people. It howls proudly for every reason a wolf howls: it is a rallying cry, a call to hunt, a declaration of sovereignty (even as part of the empire), and a guiding voice for the wayward. The gold stripe is a symbol of power, but was also added to increase the flag’s visibility.
The flag of Maochengshi has a golden hoist as a sign of prosperity, and a white paw overlaid on it as a sign of purity. Beyond that is the red field representing the blood and power of the people. The most notable feature is the white nekomata mid-pounce. It is white like the White Tiger of the West, a sign of a virtuous dynasty as well as the king of beasts. It faces away from the hoist, for I accidentally drew it backwards and do not have the tools to fix it. It can be flown regardless of the direction though.

[La Berga]

The flag of La Berga is not a simple nor very complicated flag here's the meanings;

White:

Meaning 1:

The white represents divinity through royal blood of the Indemanis Family (The Royal Family ruling La Berga since the 900's)

Meaning 2:

The mistakes the countries made and we must look forward into the future, embracing change making mistakes along the way.

Black:

Meaning 1:

Grieving, grief of ancestors, respect brave heroes of the nation.

Meaning 2:

Honouring the disabled; blind, mute, deaf, paralised and more.

Meaning 3:

The black-white contrast means the new age, technology advances, youth, creativity, democracy.

The "parca de felia" is a national symbol of the country meaning wealth and good fortune.
