The new Israel is the Catholic Church. The Old Covenant has been superseded by the New Covenant, instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ. The old Israel no longer exists; its temple became useless after Christ's redeeming sacrifice on the Cross and was therefore rightly destroyed by the Romans. Unfortunately, the Holy Land is currently occupied by the Mohammedans. Hopefully, a new crusade will finally liberate the holy places. We do therefore not recognise the remnants of the old Israel.

They should not be compelled by violence to come to baptism, because the sacraments should only be received freely and in faith. They should not be harmed, nor their goods carried off by violence. Furthermore, in the diocese of 's-Hertogenbosch it has been decreed that none should dare to violate or belittle the cemeteries of the Jews or to dig up bodies already buried, in search of money.

The Aschkenazim are an ethnic minority in the realm that do trace their lineage to Palestine from the tribes that formed the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. There are some other tribes that assimilated to Turkish and Arab culture, but there is no serious movement to reform Israel and Judah. We respect the rights of those from Hebrew descent and the Ottoman state tolerates all religions and has ethnic equality and rights now.
