And? Most modern SAMs travel at speeds much higher than that. In fact, I think the RIM-161 travels at over twice that speed.
EDIT: To further add, the Russian S-400 is claimed to be a Mach 12 capable SAM, making it four times faster than the SR-71.

In the days of satellite reconnaissance and modern SAMs, the SR-71 is dreadfully obsolete. If however, you are using it as a fighter, use the YF-12 because it can actually carry weapons. Either way its a bad Idea. YF-12 is utterly fantastic at what it does, and there is literally no comparable aircraft.
It's an interceptor meant to intercept enemy strategic bomber wings while they are still thousands of miles away from the country being defended. It is a purpose-built purebred with a cruise (cruise!) speed of over mach three, a big fucking radar, and big fucking nuke-tipped AAMs to enable it to take out whole stratbomber squadrons with every missile. A modernized update would be absurd.

It's only about half the size of a Hellcat. It's really more based on Italian and Russian fighters.
