What is the drinking age in your nation and why?
It is 16. It is because alcohol is a large part of Konkani culture. This is so that in these two years, a person can learn to drink responsibly. Thus, people of ages 16 and 17 are allowed to drink only when accompanied by an adult.

How strictly enforced is it?
It isn't enforced strictly. However if a person of any age is caught driving a motorized vehicle under the influence of alcohol, he or she is fined and their driving license is revoked for a year. If a person has been so drunk that he's losing control of his self and can't walk straight, then they are taken to a police station lockup and kept there overnight.

What is the age restriction for entering bars and clubs in your nation?
18.

What age do you have to be to sell or serve alcohol in your nation?
18.

Is the drinking age the same as the age of majority in your nation?
The age of majority is 18, when you get the right to vote, bear arms etc.

Did your nation always have the drinking age it does now?
Yes.

═───╡❖╞────────═ DRINKING AGE IN THE FREEHOLD ═────────╡❖╞───═
╞────────═ OFFICIAL DOCUMENT OF THE SPHERE OF THE INTERIOR ═────────╡

As with many other matters of moral regulation in the Freehold, the concept of drinking age largely falls down to the supervision of the familial father exercising control over his family unit. First, it must be clarified that with a small number of exceptions, it is considered an indecency for women to consume alcohol, especially in public, but also effectively in private, as the familial father who permits his wife, daughters, or granddaughters to consume alcohol simply because they are not in the public eye may be said to lack effective control over his family and be morally deficient himself.

As for men, there is no legal required age to consume alcohol, although only men of majority (fifteen and older) are able to purchase it. It is in fact common place for male children above the age of seven to be prepared for their upcoming adult life by observing social gatherings that involve moderated drinking such as symposiums, which are also attended by women who as previously mentioned abstain from the alcohol consumption of their male peers.

All the proof a male citizen would need of his age of majority to purchase alcohol would be to do so wearing his toga of manhood, whilst a male citizen below the age of majority would be marked by different clothing highlighting his legal inviolability, and the fact that selling him alcohol would be considered a corrupting influence outside of the guidance of his familial father. The law is thus largely ambiguous or entirely removed from these matters, as alcohol is socially regulated rather than state regulated. Boys under fifteen and women generally are likewise seen as unfit to enter establishments where the selling of alcohol is the primary or major business, though once again this is down to citizen families to enforce. Non-citizen women in particular may enter such establishments, though this would confirm to a citizen the lack of moral decency already inferred by her status.

For males therefore, the customary age of independent drinking is fifteen, though many may partake in a very moderated fashion from the age of seven, emulating their elder peers at symposiums and other social events with the consumption of heavily diluted wine.

For females, the exceptions to their moral prohibition on the consumption of alcohol raise more interesting customs. A woman's wedding night is considered a day where her consumption of alcohol is not only tolerable but encouraged, to help calm nerves and to ease her transition from girl to wife. The most frequent age at first-time marriage for Ephyral women is eighteen, but marriage is legal - though highly uncommon - from the age of thirteen. Certain religious festivals and rites also socially permit or encourage the female consumption of heavily diluted alcohol, which may like boys see their involvement from the age of seven onwards, through their teens, young adulthood, middle, and old age. Outside of these circumstances however, the citizen female's consumption of alcohol is a source of dishonour and disgrace, in contrast to the stereotyped foreign women's alcoholic liberality. As no self-respecting citizen woman would enter an establishment whose primary commerce is alcohol, this question is irrelevant to them.

In short, drinking is socially not legally regulated. Boys may begin consuming alcohol from the age of seven in controlled environments in preparation for adult life. The male age of majority at fifteen is the minimum for the purchasing of alcohol. Women and girls are socially restricted in the contexts in which they can consume alcohol, with certain religious events and their wedding night being the primary exceptions; aside from this, the age aligns with their male peers.

What is the drinking age in your nation and why?
The drinking age is 19 mainly because that's the age where most men are conscripted.
How strictly enforced is it?
The law isn't enforced particularly at all. National Government have better things to do and drinking is extremely cultural. Injury to other person while drunk with result in at least 60 years if they live.
What is the age restriction for entering bars and clubs in your nation?
Bars and Clubs can be entered by the business' policy although welfare laws against companies usually make sure that you have to be at least 15.
What age do you have to be to sell or serve alcohol in your nation?
Sell and serving alcohol requires a permit which you can obtain at the age 20. Although soft alcohol can be served with a separate license at 19.
Is the drinking age the same as the age of majority in your nation?
No the age of gaining the little rights you get comes at 18 while drinking age is 19.
Did your nation always have the drinking age it does now?
Before 1910 there was no law mandating drinking and it was up to the parents. During 1910 to 1945 during Japanese Occupation alcohol was reserved for Japanese people but not explicitly banned.

What is the drinking age in your nation and why?

To consume alcohol? None federally, however most districts have set minimums that range from 14 to 16, as this particular law is under the juristiction of individual districts.

To buy alcohol? This is federally set at 16 years if it is also accompanied by a meal, but at 18 years in all other cases.

How strictly enforced is it?

Not very well, as most cases of underage drinking generally go unprosecuted unless the case is particularly egregious.

What is the age restriction for entering bars and clubs in your nation?

This is decided by the autonomous districts, not the federal government, however it is generally between 16 and 18 for clubs, but most bars do not have an age restriction.

What age do you have to be to sell or serve alcohol in your nation?

This varies by autonomous district, but is usually at least 18 years.

Is the drinking age the same as the age of majority in your nation?

The age of majority is federally set at 18 years, so it depends on how you define 'drinking age.'

Did your nation always have the drinking age it does now?

No, it has varied a lot in the past.

What is the drinking age in your nation and why? None. In 1843, the Havenic court of Unification ruled in the case of Landino v. Province of Celeria that the guarantee of equal rights and protections extended to those previously considered minors. For this reason, all previous age restrictions were removed, although some private entities continue to set their own terms of entry.

How strictly enforced is it? In the sense that if a province or local government attempted to create one it would find itself sued extremely quickly and end up losing, extremely.

What is the age restriction for entering bars and clubs in your nation? Legally, none, however bars and clubs are free to set whatever restriction they wish.

What age do you have to be to sell or serve alcohol in your nation? There isn't a legal age, however employers can choose to refuse to hire staff who would be incapable of carrying out a task. Refusing entirely on grounds of age however would be seen as discrimination.

Is the drinking age the same as the age of majority in your nation? Yes

Did your nation always have the drinking age it does now? No, there were previously some localised drinking ages.

What is the drinking age in your nation and why?

The minimum age to purchase alcohol is 17, the same as the age of majority - but the minimum age for drinking in public is 14.

How strictly enforced is it? Rather strictly, with high fines.

What is the age restriction for entering bars and clubs in your nation?
17

What age do you have to be to sell or serve alcohol in your nation?
17

Is the drinking age the same as the age of majority in your nation? Yes.

Did your nation always have the drinking age it does now? At one point the purchasing age (Again, same age as majority) was 20. Earlier still - before the 20th Century - there were no restrictions on purchase whatsoever.

In Coconut Palm Island, alcohol is classified as a Class B, or "soft", drug. As such, the drinking age is 16. However, some forms of hard alcohol (like Vodka) are classified as a Class A, or "hard", drug, with a minimum age of 18.

The two-tiered system is also used for drugs. Class B drugs (min 16 years old) include most alcohol, cannabis, sedatives, hallucinogens (LSD/mushrooms), disassociates (like Ketamine), and most other drugs. Class A drugs (min 18 years old) include nicotine/tobacco, heroin and fentanyl and other strong opioids, cocaine, amphetamine/methamphetamine, and other more dangerous drugs.

However, it should be noted that many of these drugs, including alcohol and cannabis, are used to treat certain medical conditions, or are prescribed to people with substance use disorders to prevent them from using more dangerous and unpredictable street drugs. When prescribed this way, they are considered Class M-A or Class M-B (M for medical) drugs. M-A and M-B drugs, when prescribed by a doctor, are available to people of all ages. Alcohol is occasionally prescribed in small, controlled doses for some anxiety disorders when traditional medications have failed.
