Here's my question for those interested in this topic.

In America, our police department such in major cities and some counties have a special division used for criminals who are too dangerous for ordinary officers to take down without getting killed, it's called the Special Weapons and Tactics team, or SWAT for short. SWAT Operatives are usually given military-grade equipment that are mostly hand me downs from the Armed Forces, despite this, they have still gotten the job done due to their extensive training compared to the regular police officer. In your nation, do your police departments or whatever you call them have an equivalent of the SWAT team? If so, what are they issued as equipment and how do they operate?

Each of the twelve bailiwicks has its own police authority, as does each shire and municipality. Most law enforcement matters are managed on an independent basis at these lower levels for day to day purposes. Typically any major urban area does have SWAT-like resources at their disposal, though how these units are managed varies. Most simply are divisions of the local police department, but a few bailiwicks provide tactical services via their higher-level agencies. In the western most bailiwick, traditionally the primary land border crossing, long tradition has resulted in this centralized control being a part of the area's military infrastructure rather than its traditional law enforcement.

At the federal level, the most elite units would be the Tactical Response Teams of the Range Wardens – Verdant Haven's law enforcement agency responsible for securing the vast and untracked wilderness that dominates so much of the land. Four of these teams, with a dozen wardens each, are on standby throughout the country, ready to deploy within hours via land, sea, or air to any crisis spot. They would lie somewhere between the American FBI HRT and the UK's SAS.

TSGA (Talitoan Secret Government Agents), our CIA. This team helps keep national security by espionage and spying.

the Team Of Last Resort (TOLR) is made of seasoned police that take action when the need calls. This team is called where normal police can't successfully solve the situation. Say massive groups of heavily armed hostiles attacking or holed up in buildings. This team makes sure the army can focus on outside threats and can keep a better hold on the front.

The Cohortes Urbanus. Named after the main garrison of the City of Rome. Effectively functions just like the IRL SWAT Team.

Local police departments in major cities, district police departments, and the National Police will all have SWAT teams designed to take down dangerous criminals.

Several police agencies in Thermodolia have SWAT units. The federal agencies such as Thermodolian National Investigation Directorate, Thermodolian National Police Service, Thermodolian Enforcement Directorate, and Thermodoilan Military Police Directorate all have a SWAT unit. TNID and TNPS both have Rapid Response Units or RRUs. TED has High Threat Response Teams or HTRTs. And TMPD has Special Rapid Response Units or SRRUs

by Kaltovar
There exist several unique crisis response elements available to the Kaltic state, but the most simple catch-all deployed for ordinary emergencies (mass shootings, bank robbery, gang war, barricaded suspect, drug raids) would be the Officio Sentenium (OSE) of the Adeptus Judicus. Personnel are drawn mostly from ordinary police, military veterans, or Emergency Medical Technicians. Since Kaltovar is a National Service state, the vast majority of it's population are military veterans and can apply for service within the Officio Sentenium. Those who lack military or police experience but possess special skills may receive a waiver, and sponsorship by the OSE to attend bootcamp and receive Basic Training before going through the extended OSE training program.

OSE Operatives regularly serve as OPFOR for the military during urban exercises, providing valuable lifelike combat experience to both themselves and the soldiers they train with. OSE also engages in similar exercises with Cohorts of the Urbus Praetoria of the Adeptus Atomicus (UPAA Teams - Entities charged with the protection of Kaltic nuclear facilities), the Tempestus Authoritas of the Adeptus Conquestus (TAAC Teams - The formation to which most Military Police belong), and the Departmentum Sanitoria of the Adeptus Securitas (DSAS Teams - Charged with highly classified direct combat operations on Kaltic soil within Kaltovar's legal jurisdiction, such as storming terrorist compounds or terminating high profile organized criminals.) among many others.

Anybody that's passed the Tinhampton Constabulary's Armed Officer Safety Program gets some vaguely new-ish handgun and little else. Failing that, send in the militiaperson down the road :P

Our policing is run on a national level, with regional area commanders for cities and some larger towns. The SWAT equivalent in Drongonia is SIRF. There's at least one SIRF team per region or area, but there can be multiple for the larger cities. They receive combat training alongside the defence force and are armed with guns and armour sourced independently for the teams, rather than defence force hand-me-downs.

SIRF stands for the following:
Special
Incident
Response
Force

Incidents SIRF may respond to include armed hostage or standoff situations, situations where armed individuals cannot be subdued by regular police, bomb threats, high level terror threats or activity, large-scale public behaviour events and more.

Are there any notable or particular SIRF teams that outclass their colleagues? So much so that they would have jurisdiction over other SIRF teams when necessary?

Not really, as all of the teams receive the same training. If some force above SIRF was required the defence force would likely be called upon to deal with the situation.

If you mean every jurisdiction in the nation has one, then yes.

There isn't really an equivalent in Radiatia.

For a start, Radiatia doesn't officially delineate between defence and law enforcement (but there is a clear de facto delineation). Every state has its own defence force, while there is also a federal defence force.

By convention, the federal defence forces (Radiatian Federal Army (RFA), Radiatian Federal Air Force (RFAF) and Radiatian Federal Sea Force (RFSF)) are tasked with defending the nation from foreign threats while state defence forces function as law enforcement agencies. (A coastal state, for example, might have its own state navy/sea force, but this would be nothing more than an equivalent of the coast guard.)

Some larger states, like Alayenia and Amentra, like to make things nice and complicated by also having local police forces in the sense we're familiar with (such as the Exegrad Metropolitan Police, or the Das Engel Police Department) - with these forces being tasked with law enforcement within the confines of, usually, a large metropolitan area while the state army continues to exist as another layer of law enforcement.

The level of weaponisation and training also differs markedly from state to state - while in the majority of states law enforcement personnel are basically just military personnel tasked with law enforcement, there are certain liberal and left-leaning states (like Saku and Chongluntz) which don't actually arm their state armies/law enforcement personnel and these states may well have specific branches of professionals in case of emergencies who are an equivalent to a SWAT team.

There is also the Federal Police Agency (FPA) who don't actually fall under the Federal Ministry of Defence, but whose training is not unlike that of the defence forces - the FPA being tasked mainly with investigation of major federal crime (equivalent to the FBI) and providing border security (equivalent to a customs officer... but with a rifle).

To conclude - there's no national equivalent, but some state and local authorities might have some sort of special branch which performs the function of a SWAT team.

In extreme situations (such as the Das Engel riots of 4048) federal troops will sometimes be sent in to an area to ensure law and order thus further blurring the line between defence and law enforcement.

In Fatatatutti, the equivalent to the SWAT Team is the Flying Squad. They are equipped with body armour and helmets similar to those used by the Army. They are armed with shotguns, assault rifles, CS gas, etc. as necessary for a particular situation. If a situation is too intense for even the Flying Squad to handle, the Army is called in.

The Ministry of Internal Security maintains several specialty teams

At the lowest level is county SWAT and EOD teams, there are over 500 of them in the larger metro areas, though by statue each of the 113 counties as 5 20-man SWAT teams and 5-man EOD Teams in it's area, plus additional teams and personnel as needed. Above them is the Enhanced SWAT steams (ESWAT), one per the 7 regions made up of 125 team members including support personnel. The Capital Region's ESWAT is the Crisis Response Unit, highly trained they have served along side Special Forces of Aroni oi conflicts on 4 continents.

Along side them are:
* the Protective Service Agency's Counter Assault Troops, who are on 3-hours notice to defend important infrastructure from hard attacks.
* the Nuclear Incident Response Group who response to CNBRE events in the nation
* The "Tunnel Snakes" troops specially trained and equipt to respond to incidents on aircraft, metros, and train cars
* The Coast Guard Force Boarding Parties, who commandeer and seize ships who fail to respond to coast guard demands
* The Special Homeland Arrest and Removal Teams (SHARD) who arrest high risk fugatives
* The Counter-Riot Group who respond to riots and other incidents at Aronian prisons
* and the Wilderness Specialists Unit who general are not police officer but highly trained wilderness survival and rescue units, but who do have police powers as needed.

Diarcesia's version of the SWAT team is the Hyperastynomia-Omega, abbreviated as HAO. HAOs are likely on par with that of the American SWAT team in influence and relevance in the overall law enforcement in Diarcesia.

HAOs usually wear blue armor as opposed to their red counterparts, and are quite armored due to their nature of work. They are also armed with more technologically-advanced weaponry, such as the SEW-M19 Wunderwolf, which contains an HLA-256 chip that allows it to be personalized to assigned owner.
