The Royal Guard, basically the elite of the military and a kind of secret police.

SCAR (Special Circumstances and Armed Response) is the elite tactical unit of the Central Government, overseen by the Ministry for Civil Defence. Although most front-line and community policing is devolved to the communal level, central government reserves the right to withdraw devolution of justice and policing at any time, with most incidents requiring SCAR deployment being declared civil defence emergencies. Many communes, particularly urban communes, maintain their own armed response units that have primary responsibility in their jurisdictions.

SCAR personnel are full-time employees of the Ministry for Civil Defence, empowered with the same authority as a Justicar (Central Government Law Enforcement) and able to overrule Regional and Communal law enforcement. Prospective candidates are selected from the ranks of the Justicars, and undergo a 12 week training regimen to become operationally ready.

Duties of SCAR teams throughout Ravenni include: resolving incidents involving armed offenders, aircraft and marine vessel interventions, high risk searches, warrants and prisoner transport, counter-terror operations (including bomb defusing), counter-intelligence operations, defence of embassies in wartorn countries and assistance to Regional and Communal law enforcement where requested. SCAR units are also deployed as community law enforcement of the Ministry for Civil Defence, including during the 2010 Avalanche Crisis and 2017 Alpine Haemorrhagic Fever Outbreak.

SCAR is a member of the ATLAS network of European police tactical units, and as such may be deployed in other member states on request.

ATOM (Atomic Tactical Operations Mandate), the tactical police force with jurisdiction over nuclear energy sites and nuclear material in transit, are not a part of SCAR but operate under its supervision.

The Haleckian National Police operates a number of special tactics units for various purposes. The most commonly used of these units is the HRTF or the High-Risk Task Force. A number of other units and divisions under the National Police are the NSRT, or Narcotics Special Task Force, who usually assist the Narcotics Investigations Department of the National Police in conducting raids and seizures.

The National Gendarmerie's version of the HRTF is the Special Response Group, or SRG. The National Gendarmerie differs from most gendarmeries in the world, as they also take on the military police role as a separate branch of the military, whereas many nations simply have military policing duties as a mode of service within a military. The SRG is rarely used, as jurisdiction regultions for law enforcement puts the National Police's HRTF first, and there is rarely a need for a SWAT-type purpose inside the military. For this reason, SRG members are essentially regular gendarmes with advanced training.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigations, or BCI, oversees the High (Risk) Emergency Response Team, or HERT. They are most commonly used to bolster HNP patrolmen and BCI agents in protection of various government officials, which is one of the BCI's primary duties.

The Terre Septentrionale equivalent of the SWAT is Groupe Tactique d'Intervention (GTI). They're operated by each of the 20 townships and the federal district. Some townships can have two GTIs, for example, the Township of Catherine du Nord has one GTI based in Prévost and one in Oujé-Bougoumou.

The Federation Central Police has 3 specialist units;

• RES - Regional Enforcement Squads
  
  Regional Enforcement Squads, formerly called Operational Support Groups, are a comprised of regular FCP and regional police officers who can be called for anything from a riot to a armed robbery. Officers of the RES operate on a 'needs basis' outside of their full-time posts, meaning they're called up when the need for a RES unit arises. RES also performs targeted presence when an area is experiencing a surge of crime or there is a know organised crime presence.

• RTIU - Regional Transport Intervention Units
  
  Unlike RES, Regional Transport Intervention Units are in the unit full time, and they are only staffed by FCP officers. They handle emergency situations on transport assets; this can be anything from a bus to a airport. Also unlike RES, TRIU also handle matters like technical rescue or medical emergencies, regularly this involves 'one under' incidents where someone unfortunately jumps in front of a train or tram. Some officers are specialised in certain fields, like EOD, CBRN or crowd control.

• SIG - Specialist Intervention Group
  
  The Specialist Intervention Group is the Federations dedicated elite counter-terrorism unit. They are broken up into 8 'platoons' depending on their role or speciality, like surveillance. All SIG officers undertake up to 26 weeks of training, which includes fitness, marksmanship, hand-to-hand combat, deploying from a helicopter, tracking, EOD, CBRN, swimming and medicine.

The Federation Criminal Police Office also has a specialist unit;

• PTU - Police Tactical Unit
  
  Following closely in the steps of The Specialist Intervention Group. They are a full time unit spread across Federation territory, and are similiarly trained to be expert marksman. Most of the PTU deployments are for high-risk arrests and protective services; protecting FCPO offices and persons. The PTU regularly undertake protection of persons at risk, like informants at risk.

The World's Watch has a division named the RATARE (Rapid Tactical Response) Unit, though they are rarely deployed for severe events, as most major criminal events happen offworld.

Since the military is but an over-glorified police force in West Dumonde, all tanks and armored personnel carriers have been dedicated to safely knocking cats down from shrubbery nationwide. This is perhaps the closest state equivalent to SWAT that we currently possess.

The regional police departments of Prussia-Poland often do not have a dedicated SWAT team due to the high level of militarism already present within their police forces. These include the usage of(on a case-by-case basis requiring the authorization of either the police chief the local noble, or the elected equivalent): Heavy machine guns, armored fighting vehicles, and bayonets. Surplus assault and battle rifles are already a reasonably common sight, and most officers tend to carry automatic weapons, the most popular of which is the H&K MP5. In addition, officers are equipped with a level of body armor that is equivalent to, at least, NIJ Type IIIa. However, they often lack the training required to use these weapons and equipment properly, so department policy tends to restrict their usage, and comes down hard on any officer who discharges his weapon without an extremely good excuse(that is backed up by evidence). Currently, training programs are underway, and proper rules-of-engagement are currently being developed.

Due to this, "SWAT" work often falls to the military; more specifically, the I. Fallschirmjaegerregiment. However, they often tend to wear the uniforms of the local police force while carrying out law-enforcement actions.

The Police Civile (Civil Police) have highly trained and heavily armed units called Groupes d'Intervention Rapide (Rapid Intervention Teams) to respond to high-risk incidents requiring speed, precision and firepower. The Maréchaussée (Royal Troops) have similar units, but they only respond to threats against national security.

HATs, or Heavy Assault Teams, are special assault units utilised by the Imperial Police Forces. HATs are equipped with powered armour and are given military training. Recruited mainly from among the Imperial Army and Imperial Marines, HATs function primarily as counter-terrorist and state security forces. HATs also have a role in backing up Imperial Police units and defending Imperial worlds, in conjunction with the Aletian armed forces. Service in a Heavy Assault Team is attractive to military personnel as it involves the use of military weapons and equipment and allows a soldier to continue to serve the Empire, though without the prospect of having to fight xenos or other military forces. As such, the chances of being seriously injured are killed are much lower, though not entirely absent. Although criminals nearly never possess the equipment required to seriously challenge HATs, with gun ownership widespread in Aletian society and a significant margin of the population possessing military training, one can never be too sure.

The Angriffspolizei (Assault Police, Literally "Attack Police") are actually a department of the Heer (Army) and not the National Police organization, the Order Police. They serve as counter-terrorist forces and are called in to support the Order Police during violent confrontations with criminals or gang activity.

They are equipped with standard Heer weaponry, light body armor, and the standard Reichswehr stahlhelm instead of the boiled leather caps of the Order Police.

Every police district has a Crisis Response Unit that includes negotiators, entry teams, counter-snipers, and specialized technical units such as bomb disposal. Hostage rescue and similar such things would fall under their purview. The National Crisis Response Unit is a joint Marshalcy-National Police unit that can provide backup to any regional CRU or our international allies.

The Sturmtruppen Unit is the closest to SWAT. They effectively act the same, however with a focus on Anti-riot and CQB. They act as a separate group from the normal Militärpolizei. They generally handle situations where the Schattengeschwader Unit is not needed. Both units deal with CT but the Schattengeschwader take on exterior threats while the Sturmtruppen focuses on smaller domestic threats. They wear the Improved Exosuit, the RX35. They usually carry a specialized Plasma Assault Rifle, generally a CR-14, or a Plasma Shield and a Laser Pistol.

Any resistence to giovernment action that requires a military response is granted one, and we do n9ot care at all if all the criminals die in gunfire. The Dittatorian Red Milita cannot handle all of its issues on its own. As a Form of Counter-terrorism in the Years of Rising Tension a New, Independent and Highly Trained force named the "Brigata Nera" was formed to deal with the threat. The Brigata Nera is a specialized Task Force in Special Weapons and Tactics that Normal Milita Cannot handle. Often Dressed in Red/Black Uniform. They specialize with years of traning and expertise in many fields. They can operate in any situation, any climate and can neutralise any threat nessceary.

A More Common Special Unit seen around Dittatori is "Unità di Risposta Rapida". These Special Forces are almost always ready. They use Helicopters, Motorbikes and the most advanced Communication and Tatics known to Dittatori to be the most effective First Response team in the Mediterranean. Often First into a Conflict. Death rates among these units are often high. Due to this they are often heavily armed and ready

With the wave of reforms sweeping the Ministry of Justice and the Interior, the High Risk Task Force of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations has been dissolved, and a new unit formed, the Special Operations Group, or SOG.

The provincial police have Special Tactics and Weapons or STAW they will conduct raids, handle riots, and they are also responsible for police aviation and serve as water police for harbors and rivers. For the Federal police there is the Special Federal Law Enforcement Unit or SFLEU They conduct raids, handle riots, and they also help with shootings and bombings. Most large cities and counties have Special Combat And Tactics or SCAT wich serve as a SWAT team.
