One Party. 250land and Vera has a bizarre political history which started with 250lands' founding by the Awesome Break Away Army after the end of the Khami Empire Dissolution Wars. An army group under the control of an exiled Prince and his advisors fled across the mountains China Warring States style and founded 250land as an Orwellian one-party state in which every citizen was a member of the army. In 250land, Juche is converted to 'Awesome' a self-serving political ideology that supports a highly invasive military first policy. In the late '80s the intelligence services staged a coup, and after a brief civil war changed the country from a military one-party state to a 'civilian' one-party state operating in much the same way but with different names and some leeway for individuals to control their own lives.

Vera on the other hand was founded as a typical, out of the can one-party communist state with a lifetime strongman dictator. When he died Vera was split in two for a time (with small puppet governments in charge) before being invaded and annexed by 250land in 1992.

Since then, the combined state of 250land and Vera operates under a 'committee of public safety' that overseas administration without elections or independent checks on its power. It is suspected that the IQU (intelligence services) are still largely in control although they now follow a policy of encouraging capitalist investment and open migration.

Postby The Twilight Embassy » Sun May 10, 2020 4:51 am

The Twilight Embassy has two separate party systems; a two-party system among Shadowmancers (dark magic users) through the Void and Aether Powers, and a quasi two-party system among the civilians, both Shadowmancer and Non-Shadowmancer, of Dark Star Tower between House Orwell and House Huxley.

Founded during the Twilight Embassy's inception. They operate with the intention and agenda of enacting the following political policy platform:
  • Once the Lances no longer pose a mortal threat to all sentient life in the universe, The Twilight Embassy is to completely disband. All planets, territories and organizations controlled by the Embassy-- including the Jedi Republic, the Sith Empire, the Azeroth Horde, and the Decepticons --are to be made completely sovereign states. If the Twilight Embassy cannot disband, its only remaining purpose would be to protect the sovereignty of individual planets/galaxies.
  • Once the Lances no longer pose a mortal threat to all sentient life in the universe, Shadowmancers are to be granted absolute autonomy; if non-Shadowmancers wish to remain provided for, the Shadowmancers will only do so by their own choice.
  • Once the Lances no longer pose a mortal threat to all sentient life in the universe, Non-Shadowmancers are to be granted absolute autonomy from Shadowmancers and allowed to survive on their own.

Founded during the Twilight Embassy's inception. They operate with the intention and agenda of enacting the following political policy platform:
  • Once the Lances no longer pose a mortal threat to all sentient life in the universe, the universe will be too reliant on the Twilight Embassy's existence for it to disband. The Twilight Embassy will continue to expand and fill the power vacuum left behind by the Lances, conquering the universe as a cohesive benevolent dictatorship if need be. Organizations like the Sith Empire, the Jedi Republic, the Azeroth Horde, and the Decepticons, will not be granted sovereignty as promised, as left to their own devices, they risk decaying into fascism just as their enemies-- The First Order, The Azeroth Alliance, The Autobots -- did.
  • Once the Lances no longer pose a mortal threat to all sentient life in the universe, Shadowmancers are to remain under the control and command of the Twilight Embassy indefinitely, so that their abilities are not to be used for ill-intentions. Left to their own devices, Shadowmancers would simply conquer and oppress the non-Shadowmancers just as the Lances did.
  • Once the Lances no longer pose a mortal threat to all sentient life in the universe, non-Shadowmancers are to remain under the custody of the Twilight Embassy indefinitely, to ensure that the non-Shadowmancer neither starves to death nor turns against the Shadowmancers. Left to their own devices, non-Shadowmancers would turn the entire universe into a bigoted, barren hellscape akin to that of the European middle-ages.

The closest you get to a neutral party with the Aether and Void Powers is "we'll burn that bridge when we get to it; for now, the Lances are the bigger problem," an attitude shared by both factions as well as nearly everyone in the Twilight Embassy.

Founded during Dark Star Tower's construction. This party's platform is as follows:
  • Heeding the Warnings of George Orwell.
  • The Lances' ideology thrives better in Silence and Secrecy than in "Cacophony." Freedom of the Press and Internet is vital.
  • The Damonic Forces are a more reliable and trustworthy ally against the Lances than the Engellic Forces.
  • "Vices" such as Regulated Pornography, Regulated Prostitution, Recreational Drugs & Alcohol, and "Nerd Culture" (Video Games, Anime, Superheroes, Science Fantasy, etc.) hurt more than help Lance ideology, and therefore must be protected from restriction.

Given Dark Star Tower's diverse populace, there are other parties that find success in influencing policy, especially due to their pursuit of policies that neither directly clash nor align with those of House Orwell or House Huxley. These include House Kojima (which focuses on military ethics and the rights of soldiers), House Wachowski (which focuses on cybersecurity protections and transgender rights), House R.U.R. (which focuses on Unions and the rights of Sentient A.I.), House Windrunner (which focuses on health-and-wellness, disease control, justice for victims of rape and sexual assault, as well as undead rights and regulation), House Obama (which focuses on racial justice and protection of immigrants from discrimination) and House T'Challa (which also focuses on racial justice, but is more concerned with the protection of natural-born citizens from discrimination).

This nation is neither dystopian nor utopian; rather, a mix between idealist policy-making with ruthlessly-pragmatic enforcement thereof. "The Order of H Light" is an alt account of mine that plays out as a more straightforward dystopia/false utopia.

However, my IRL political views are admittedly very weird and may intersect with this nation in more ways/less ways then I care to admit.

The Satavakal Kingdom is a quasi-two-party state. The two main parties (the conservative party Ikial and the classical liberal and slightly progressive party Sasaralas) are joined by a host of smaller parties, which become either allies to one of the two main parties or crossbench parties. The parliament is organised in much the same way as the Westminster system.

My nation has a sort of multi-party system. I say sort of because politics are based on families instead of parties for the most part. The families act like political parties in where they back politicians loyal to them but upper part of government, except for parliament, consists of only inner family members.

There are small political parties but the influence of the families' drown them out politically for the most part.

The Imperial Diet is de jure multiparty de facto one party, led by the progressive Social Democratic Party, who've enjoyed popular success since their first election in 1910 (it's currently 2025), while there have been upsets, most of the White Sun Empire's governments have been of the Social Democratic Party.

Medwedgrad has a multi-party system. However, there is only one strong party with long tradition and strong infrastructure - Conservative Party. It is also supported by the lord of Medwedgrad and his family. Smaller parties and independent candidates often have local character and are short living. The reason behind is that the country is very small and it is not easy to build a strong and lasting infrastructure. However, there is a broad and lose coalition of opposition parties and independent candidates called Alliance for Medwedgrad. The Alliance serves as a platform for cooperation between the various smaller political movements.

We have a two party system, with the Union and Popular parties initially out-competing their rivals before effectively protecting their status through institutional control. Now, third parties are seen as pointless and rarely achieve even minor breakthroughs at the local level

Britannia Maior is a dominant-party state under the de facto regime of a politically syncretic political party. This party holds the majority of constituencies and has a history of tending to the needs of their constituents, partially leading to this high popularity. The monarch must still give royal assent to bills, which the monarch can refuse to do.

Saint Perpetua has had a dominant-party system since the end of the Revolution in 2018.The Avanç! party was a merger of the leftist revolutionary factions and a successor to the Worker's and Peasant's Democratic Revolutionary Front, or WPDRF. Avanç! is a big-tent coalition of the Worker's Party, the Land Party-The Greens, the Communist Party and the Social Democrats, as well as minor local parties. Each constituent party holds its own caucuses within a larger electoral framework. Following the Windhoek Peace Accords and the constituent assembly of 2019, Avanç! has dominated in local, cantonal, and national elections. The main exceptions are Cornerstone canton, in the middle of the island, and the southern cantons. In 2032, Avanç! won a comfortable 65.92% of seats in the Popular Assembly.

The main opposition party is the Christian democratic League for National Salvation, or the "Lyga." Led by charismatic Reformed preacher and former revolutionary Rodolfo Uys, the Lyga generally comes in with 15-25% of the presidential vote and aproximately the same amount in the Popular Assembly.

St. Perpetua also has dozens of minor parties.
But only the Muslim Democrats, the Pirate Party, and the Economic Freedom Fighters-SP have representation in the Assembly.

Quasi two-party, though this system may be at risk, due to the fact that the Social Democrats have lost their credibility (they fell to third place in the December 2019 general election) and the Conservative Party, led by the hard-right Harold Lawson (who is currently Prime Minister), has become increasingly populistic and slightly authoritarian, leading to fears of Hoyerlay becoming a dominant-party state. The Conservatives hold 393/500 seats in Parliament, which is unprecedented.
