College Education

Is college mandatory in your nation: No

If college is mandatory what is the minimum age: N/A

If college is mandatory what is the punishment for evasion: N/A

If college is not mandatory, what percent of people decide to attend college: 78%

What percent of people decide to attend twice: 23%

What percent of students drop out of college: 5.2% , the number is low compared to the attendance rate due to the fact that the National University System while free does charge students tuition if they drop out and have been in school longer than 6 months.

How long is the vetting process for professors if one such process exists: For private colleges no such system exists or is dependent on the university. For public universities it depends on the province the university is in and the rules governing that university though the shortest vetting time for public universities is 3 months. For the National University System the professor vetting system takes a minimum of 8 months to a year.

Are private colleges permitted within your nation: Yes

Are education inspectors allowed to inspect professors: Yes

Is college considered cheap or expensive within your nation: Depends on the type of university. Overall they are considered to be inexpensive but private universities can be expensive due to the fact that they don’t have government support.

Public universities, those which are 100% government supported and private universities with government subsidies, are generally middle of the road in cost. Public universities have a cap on how much they can charge for tuition where that cap is depends on several factors.

The National University System is a 100% tuition free university system run by the federal government; books, housing, and other costs are subsidized and sometimes free depending on the economic status of the students. However as explained above if one drops out and has been in school for longer than 6 months they are required to pay the tuition plus other costs in full for the duration of the time they where in school.

If college is mandatory what is the minimum age: N/A (But there are students as young as ten in college.)

If college is mandatory what is the punishment for evasion: N/A

Are education inspectors allowed to inspect professors: If the college hires such inspectors, sure.

Is college considered cheap or expensive within your nation: It entirely depends on the college. There are certain schools which offer full four year degrees for the equivalent of a few hundred US dollars, while others which are elite have students from all across the world and cost as much as $150,000 USD per year.

Catholic Libertarian. Gov't has no authority, all authority is from God. God grants us free will, gov't should not infringe upon it. Legislating morality is wrong. Only exception is protecting rights to life, liberty, and property. Abortion is killing an infant, one of the few things gov't should prevent. Pro-Trump, he's been an effective weapon against real enemies of freedom: The Left, but I wish he were more for free trade, more against deficits. Unrestrained capitalism is a great thing; it does wonders for standards of living of everyone, especially the poor.

College Education

(using the English definition of college as university, in Arthropol a collège refers to what would be middle school in English)

Is college mandatory in your nation: It's complicated. Between the ages of 18 and 35, Arthropolian males have to either graduate from a elite university (les écoles grandes) or spend either 12 months in the Royal Arthropol Army or 18 months community service as part of national service. Females have to either graduate from an elite university or spend either 6 months in the Army or 9 months community service. However, university students not at one of the écoles grandes may obtain an exemption to national service in the formed of a signed exception note from their university president and professors. Nowadays, these are commonly given out to both men and women at universities upon graduation.

TL;DR: Basically compulsory, must go to university or do national service

If college is mandatory what is the minimum age: 18 for national service, for university any age as long as they graduated school.

If college is mandatory what is the punishment for evasion: Fines, jail time

If college is not mandatory, what percent of people decide to attend college: Approximately 80% attend university, a further 75% get exemptions from military service

What percent of people decide to attend twice: This statistic is unknown

What percent of students drop out of college: Approximately 10%

How long is the vetting process for professors if one such process exists: Varies by university

Are private colleges permitted within your nation: No

Are education inspectors allowed to inspect professors: Yes

Is college considered cheap or expensive within your nation: Free, some universities even pay students for expenses like housing, and national service comes with a wage.

College Education

Is college mandatory in your nation: Tertiary education is not only not mandatory, it is seen as a privilege that only the best and brightest minds may earn. Generally, only the top ten to fifteen percent of graduating Tenth Graders may attend the university level or higher in Teufelreich. Those who score too low for college but high enough not to be menial or service workers may undertake education for tradeswomanship or vocational work, however.

If college is mandatory what is the minimum age: Tertiary education is not mandatory, but the minimum age is 16 or 15 with parental consent for college. 15 year olds may begin vocational or tradeswoman training without parental consent, however.

If college is mandatory what is the punishment for evasion: N/A. Completing assignments if enrolled is mandatory, however, and failure to do so can result in a lowered grade, suspension, or expulsion.

If college is not mandatory, what percent of people decide to attend college: The Reich only allows the top ten to fifteen percent of each graduating Tenth Grade class to attend university, depending on the demands of the workforce, the funds of the state, and the raw population nymbers.

What percent of people decide to attend twice: Roughly two-thirds of undergraduate alumni either finish education after their undergraduate program is complete or only pursue certificates and specialization programs afterwards. One-third of undergraduates pursue graduate degrees or higher, and these students tend to be students within the liberal arts and humanities programs.

What percent of students drop out of college: The last census found a fifteen percent dropout rate for undergraduates. The most common reason for dropping out was intense stress and/or anxiety.

How long is the vetting process for professors if one such process exists: A graduate degree within the respective field (or enough graduate-level hours in the subject) is required for professoral positions, including adjuncts. Graduate degree-only professors may be full-time professors with full benefits of the job. However, tenure and the highest salaries only go towards those with a PhD or higher.

Are private colleges permitted within your nation: Yes, but they are limited. They must also be non-profit and tend to be reserved for ordination purposes, specialized military training, and for the children of Bundesfrau and other government officials. They must meet even stricter accreditation requirements than state schools.

Are education inspectors allowed to inspect professors: Yes, absolutely. Even tenure itself does not shield incompetent or criminal professors.

Is college considered cheap or expensive within your nation: Private is seen as expensive for the average Teufelreicher. However, state schools are fully funded by the state.
TWO WARNINGS: I DO NOT use NS stats, and this nation contains tons of risque and controversial elements that ARE NOT for the faint of heart.
