Golden Age of YN

by All Spain
Did your nation had a Golden Age on the past? Or is it having its Golden Age right now?

The Commonwealth of All Spain had two Golden Ages; Siglo de Oro (1556-1659) and the Era del Milagro (1964-1992). Although the first one is rather known, I will talk about the second one.

Era del Milagro

Known also as Era of Miracles, it was a period that many historians agree started when the Partido Moderado to the Partido Progresista. The Partido Progresista opened Spain again to more freedom of diplomacy and trade. Due to the size of the country, this meant that the economy would soon boom also. Technology, economy, and arts. All of them flourished during this era.

One of the most notable things during this era is the reversal of the trend of migration; no longer were Spaniards and Spanish-Americans migrating to other countries, but it was now the other way around. People from West and East Europe, the Caucasus, and Japan started migrating to Spain instead due to the growing economy. This also marked the passing of social programs which benefited the general populace. A lot of cities that were not relevant during that time started to shine in a lot of areas: Los Angeles started being a hub of Cinema, Manila was now known as the "Pearl of Asia". Even Nutca, as a state, tripled its population.

by Ruritane
Ruritane has had many golden ages, because it has been around for more than 5000 years. The notable golden ages include:

Pre Roman Era (126 BC to 57 BC)

This period of time just before the Roman conquest was a time of science and prosperity. It can be compared to the Golden Age of Islam. The first university in the world was founded, and philosophers from this era are still studied today. This was Ruritane was best at science and philosophy.

Colonial Era (roughly 1500 to definitely 1871)

Ruritane was one of the most powerful countries in Western Europe. During this period of time, Ruritane expanded from southern Gaul to Southern Africa, Sacaline, and Tierra del Fuego as well. Ruritane gained colonies in the Americas, as well as in the South Pacific. This was when Ruritane was the best at military strength. This era ended with the rise of Imperial Germany, which weakened Ruritane's power in Europe.

Now (1940 to now]

Ruritane was an Allied power, accepting Jewish refugees and playing a huge role in the defeat of Evil Germany. Ruritane was a founding member of the UN, replacing France in the default timeline. Ruritane now has the 4th best economy in the world. Ruritane has scientific advancement! Ruritane has a space program! Ruritane is at her best in trade and the economy, although Ruritane isn't that shabby in power.

There have been two golden eras of Mesopoto:

The Glorious Empire Era(Şanlı İmparatorluk Çağı)(From 1020 AC to 1820 AC):
The Glorious Empire Era is known for it's quick expansion of territory (from 1020 AC to 1030 AC) and the lawful nature of it's rulers. The Era begins with Suleiman Khagan conquering Şamit(1020 AC) and ends after the Sultan Murad Reforms(1820 AC).The Era ended after the Sultan Murad Reforms turned Mesopoto into a theocratic dictatorship and began the Era of Despair(Umutsuzluk Çağı).

The Socialist Freedom Era(Sosyalist Özgürlük Çağı)(From 1980 AC to Today):
The Socialist Freedom Era is known for rapid progress in society(such as male-female and LGBTQ equality),technology(cars and printing press),politics(concepts of democracy and ideology) and philosophy(any philosophy from non-Logmotarian philosophers). This rapid growth was caused by the new socialistic government bringing them forcefully to the country(at first, leading to much dissatisfaction and protests from the public).

Technically, Korwin's golden age is now. The economy has increased hundred-fold in the past two years, and Korwin has made an astounding comeback since the civil war and the ousting of the Kretuists. Korwin is beginning to engage in international affairs, something that it has never done in its history. Korwinian culture is bursting with life, given the fact that Korwinian culture was extremely subdued and quiet just two years prior.

While the government is still corrupt, and the leadership is still somewhat unstable, the quality of life in Korwin is astronomically better than it has ever been.

However, the Korwinian economy is currently experiencing a lull in development, thanks to a rough transition in focus from a basic sustenance economy to a highly specialized and industrialized high-tech economy.

by Ivory Coasts
Under the Islamic period of the Ivory Coasts, Ivorian economy, technology and culture entered a golden age. The Empire expanded to control a portion of the Nile River, and made the capital Bayelsa a cosmopolitan urban centre. However, it was devastated and weakened by the Gbayeda Rebellion in the 10th century. In 993, the 32nd dynasty disintegrated completely when the local military governors became ungovernable. The 33th dynasty ended the separatist situation in 1060. The 33th dynasty was the second government in the world to issue paper money and the first Ivorian polity to establish a permanent standing navy, fuelled by the discovery of Europe. Between the 11th and 15th centuries, the population of the Ivory Coasts doubled in size to around 150 million people, mostly because of land reforms, and the production of food surpluses. The 33th dynasty also saw the revival of Nimbanism, in response to the growth of Islam in the late 32nd dynasty. A flourishing of philosophy and the arts such as painting and sculpture were brought to new levels of maturity and complexity. However, the military weakness of the Ivorian army was observed by the Nilotic Kushite Kingdom. 1527, Emperor Aderounke and the capital N’Djamena were captured during the Kushite-Ivorian Wars. The Kushites declared the 34th dynasty, while the remnants of the 33th dynasty retreated to the west.

The 16th century brought the Kushite conquest of the Ivory Coasts. In 1571, the 34th dynasty ws proclaimed. Under this dynasty, the empire developed one of the storngest navies in the world and a rich and prosperous economy, fuelled by the propagation of industrial technology. It was during this period that the Ivory Coast established trade posts across the world. With the budding of capitalism, philosohers further critiqued and expanded Nimbanism and Islam with concepts of individualism and increasing secularity. The scholar-merchant stratum became a supporting force of industry and commerce, establishing various prominent institutions around this period such as the Ivory Bank, as well as various guilds that served as predecessors to modern corporations. The Ivorian economic policies around this time, deriving most revenues from corporate income and trade; and mandating that taxes be paid in the well-regulated paper currency. This caused peasants and merchants to enter larger markets. The relative peace maintained by the empire during much of the 16th and 17th centuries allowed the Ivory Coasts to overtake India and China as the world's foremost economy, and resulted in greater patronage of painting, literary forms, textiles and architecture.

═───╡❖╞────────═ GOLDEN AGE OF EPHYRA ═────────╡❖╞───═
╞────────═ OFFICIAL DOCUMENT OF THE SPHERE OF THE INTERIOR ═────────╡

The years PS 219 to PS 273 (1844 to 1898 by Gregorian reckoning) are regarded as the height of the Freehold's pre-present power, wealth, and cultural achievements. Coinciding alongside a series of expansions and conquests, the beginning of the age is marked with the annexation of the last Selian state into the Freehold barring Pontus, which had quickly emerged as the Freehold's fellow Selian rival. Other scholars place the beginning of the golden age a lot earlier however, to PS 182 (1807), coinciding to the initiation of said conflicts and the beginning of what is generally agreed to be a far more rapid projection of power than had been seen since the Freehold's founding. These annexations granted the Freehold dominion over the entire heartland of Selia and 'Further Selia', a non-specific term referring to lands outside of the peninsula with historic Selian colonisation, in this case primarily Anatolia. The annexation brought Ephyra into border and further diplomatic contact with the Muslim powers of the east, beginning a period of extensive trade, as well as conflicts.

Mediterranean, Tartary, and Arabic trade routes became major sources of slave import and export for the Freehold, who purchased when deficient, but often sold at open markets following conquest and the reduction of large portions of the conquered people into slavery. This vast economic growth fuelled Ephyra as a cross-roads trading point of east and west, and the Freehold's military power was bolstered to protect these routes, borders, and in times to expand them. By the end of the golden age the Freehold had taken possession of much of the Levant coastline and a significant portion of the Hinterlands, as well as making gains into the Euphrates river valley. The golden age slowly came to end as Ephyra began to lack behind its contemporaries, especially in Europe, with a significant contributor to this decline in economic and military power being attributed to the rise of the Washingtonian navy in the Atlantic, expanded and advanced to counter Ephyral slaving operations in the ocean. What was initially born out of a desperate attempt to recover losses brought by the Russian strangulation of the Tartary trade emerged as a major market, with pirates, corsairs, slavers, and other sea-going organisations both of Ephyral citizen and foreign descent took to the Atlantic to capture vessels, hold them for ransom, or take the cargo as prize and crew to be sold as slaves. These operations expanded to direct attacks on Washingtonian coastal settlements in the New World, with a number of small villages and even significantly sized towns looted for captives, especially a growing demand for young Washingtonian women, to be taken back and sold into slavery. The expansion of the Washingtonian fleet and the technological superiority of their ships over the Freehold's rendered the Atlantic trade unprofitable, and trade became largely confined to internal trade and with the Arabs. Other factors abound, including a number of military defeats, corruption within the Senate, and increased centralisation of power within the provincial governors effectively turning provinces into semi-independent kingdoms.

The factors that saw the decline of the Freehold from PS 273 onward eventually culminated in the Ephyral Civil War breaking out in PS 308 (1933), waged until PS 315 (1940) with the proclaiming of Anomedes Gorgosios Lenaleos as Archon Dictator for a term of ten years. Immediately following the civil war, a multi-front invasion by the Soviet Union and their Karthspiri allies, alongside the betrayal of the client kingdom of Armenia, continued Ephyral involvement in conflict alongside its allies (Pontus, Germany, and others) for a further six years until the war was resolved with an anti-Soviet victory in PS 321 (1940). The victory saw the effective crushing of resurgent internal threats, the dismantling and annexation of the Armenian kingdom, and of hundreds of thousands of captives taken as slaves from Karthspire and Armenia.

Following the end of Lenaleos' term in PS 325 (1950), elections were reinstated. The Senate having been purged of its corrupt elements, the provincial governors weakened by enforcing a maximum of three years in office, victory over internal and external threats, and a reversal of what was beginning to look like a loss of civic virtue and the ancestral mores, has cultivated within the Ephyral citizenry a belief that the Freehold is either now in or destined for a second golden age. Comparisons are already being drawn between the saving actions of Lenaleos to the Freehold's founder, Artalos, who also took power for the good of the Ephyral people and returned it to them once the task was complete. The events of the last decade are even being referred to as the Second or New Ephyral Spring, to draw purposeful links between Ephyra's modern revival in power and its initial founding.

The Golden Age of the Earth Federal Imperium started in 3088, just a few years after the Third Unification of Earth was done by our Empire. This Golden Age lasted through much of Imperator James Taylor's (Imperator II) reign, with many saying that the age ended some time around 3120. Within that Golden Age, it saw Earth rise once again to the galactic political stage. Earth went from being an impoverished, overpopulated planet to an extremely successful urban world with a large consumer base, with some considerable regional influence in the Orion Spur.

It is a Golden Age now(circa 2027) in FNT, we've defeated PRC, remnants of it's supporters, Novosiberian economy is being born and we have finally peace upon us. Federation only needs to rebuild a little bit, but that's a small price to pay for prosperity, isn't it?

by Pax Brasiliana
The Empire of Brazil is currently passing through a golden age. The Pax Brasiliana began in 2000, following the victory in the Fourth World War, and is marked by a great rise in the average income of Brazilians (from $15,124 in 2001 to $29,802 in 2019), political stability, military might, a decline in crime (homicide rate in 2001 from 25.29 to 9.5 in 2019), and an influx of skilled immigrants from Africa, Asia, and Europe. Culturally speaking, the Empire flourished, as Brazilian music and media spread around the world.

The most recent one was days 335-390, Q 2515 (1,811,190 days since the founding of Nulœrkun), in the later half of the 5th term of QPasȹa Dik'œn 8, where there was a noticeable decrease in poverty (down to almost zero) and homelessness, and new technologies became more available to the public. Today is day 488 of Q 2517. It is basically a miniature version of 1997 (?) on Earth but with much more noticeable effects.

The last 'Golden Age' for Duskuarhiel lasted from 1781 to 1932 when the lower house majority became ultra-nationalist in their views to reassert military dominance in the region and eventually sent the country into a 12-year-long civil bloodbath. The times between 1781 and 1932 were prosperous and peaceful with the Emperor's in between doing their best to keep the people out of harms way.
