Řajqatyr retains the death penalty. There are hundreds of executions every year; the figure for 2018 was 217 (excludes extrajudicial killings).

The list of capital crimes is extensive: treason, war crimes, murder, rape of a minor, attacking a public official, serious cases of propaganda against the state (includes serious cases of lèse-majesté), aggravated destruction of holy property, any child pornography offenses, mass rioting, homosexual acts, any drug-related offense (including possession or consumption) and stealing from the royal treasury.

Most executions take place publicly through hanging, though a small fraction are carried through firing squad (usually these are private). Death sentences do not specify the procedure to follow - both types of executions are considered one and the same at a legal level.

Polata City is Abolitionist except for exceptional circumstances(e.g. war crimes).

The death penalty is only applicable for war crimes, crimes against humanity, high treason during a war, and assassination of the monarch.

The death penalty for all other civilian offenses was abolished in 1973; with the death penalty for all other military offenses being abolished in 1989.

All executions are required to be conducted by hanging.

The last person executed by the death penalty was General George Featherstone who was executed by hanging on 8 September, 1978. George Featherstone was the dictator of Polata City from 10 June, 1966 to 19 April, 1968

WHAT DO YOU MEAN DEATH PENALTY?? THERE IS NO DEATH PENALTY HERE. WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?? Also, the sector security office requires the names and locations of your entire extended family.

It's not "Disappearance".. It's "Disappearance"...

The K-Sphere could theoretically be argued as abolitionist except for exceptional circumstances for the past 1,395 years for a number of conflicting reasons.

At the most basic level, Holder of Dreams sees no reason to terminate any emulated mind for activities performed while emulated. Since all activity in the K-Sphere, including crime of the worst sorts, is either consensual or performed against non-minds, destroying people because of these voluntary decisions flies in the face of the K-Sphere's entire mission statement.

In theory, a mind could be scanned, deemed 'guilty', and terminated from the network if it was revealed to host a memetic attacker, data trojan, or basilisk of the sort that would genuinely threaten K-Sphere infrastructure; rather than considering this a 'death penalty' for 'treason', though, most would call this the equivalent of armed response to a terrorist attack or invasion, which would also warrant military force in any typical nation. Historically, this has never happened; all such hijackers have been instead rejected on entry.

All of this, of course, is irrelevant at the level of the individual mind, who may choose to put themselves in an emulated environment (such as a roleplay of a lower-tech civilization) in which they are executed for any sort of action said environment's community condemns. Such an execution is not permanent in nature, though - after all, an emulated mind that dies in an environment is simply booted into another one.

Retentionist

Thermodolia is considered to be a retentionist state regarding the death penalty. However while the death penalty is currently legal in most of Thermodolia there is a moratorium on death penalties for the federal government and for all devolved provinces except for the districts.

As it currently stands 26 out of the 62 states, 3 out of 7 districts, and 2 out of 4 republics all allow the death penalty. Federal law passed in 1998 forbids the use of firing squads, electric chairs, and lethal injection from being used in executions. Currently only hanging and the gas chamber are used as execution methods.

Until 4 October, 2009 Thermodolia was a retentionist state, on that date then Attorney General Eric Sægôth issued a moratorium on all executions by the federal government and all devolved provinces. Three months later on 4 January, 2010 the moratorium was extended to all provinces but the republics were exempt along with an order to review the death penalty. This order would remain unchanged until 5 September, 2012 when now Prime Minister Eric Sægôth expanded the moratorium to all of Thermodolia.

From 5 September, 2012 to 1 September, 2018 Thermodolia was abolitionist in practice; however on that date Prime Minister Bill Winston revoked the moratorium on the death penalty completely. That year 34 people where executed. This would last until 21 August, 2020 when Attorney General Sue Fan issued the current moratorium on the death penalty and reinstated the death penalty review committee.

The death penalty is currently available for the following crimes: Murder, Serial Rape, War Crimes, Treason, Assassination of government officials, Child sexual abuse, Killing of a law enforcement officer or other first responder, Mass Murder, and Terrorism. The number of people executed last year (2019) was 22. Currently only 5 people have been executed in 2020

by Plaetopia
Plaetopia is fully abolicionist. The use of the death penalty is not technically banned, instead there are simply no crimes where a death sentence is an option.

The death penalty was abolished in 1971 for all offenses. Plaetopia suffered a devastating civil war in 1967-1970 that ended overthrowing the ruling New Order military dictatorship. As such, it is impossible to know when the last execution took place. The last formally registered execution took place in 1969, however, it is likely that dozens were still executed in 1970 in the dwindling government-held territory. Rebels also carried out executions during the entire conflict.

Page is abolitionist in law since 2003. Before, crimes eligible for capital punishment were first degree murder, terrorism, treason, and war crimes. The method was short-drop hanging and executions could be attended by the public. The last executions in Page happened on October 8, 2001 in which 14 traitors and war criminals from the National Destiny Front, a traitorous group who attempted to seize control of Page in a coup and started the Pagian Civil War were simultaneously hanged. When King Daniel Riveri declared the abolition of the death penalty in 2003, those still on death row had their sentences commuted to life in a labor camp. Those still alive in 2018 were released after the High Court of Page deemed life sentences unconstitutional. Terms of imprisonment are now limited to 15 years.

It was abolished 28 years ago in 1991
The last two executions(they happened in the same year) were both in 1988 of contras for treason, child murder and, in the case of one of them, rape.
They were abolished due to Catholic Church teachings.

It was an option for treason, aggravated murder(in cold blood and involving at least one of the following: Of a judge, military personnel , or police officer and intend to obstruct their duties, of a priest and as an act of hate, out of racial hate, of a child or of a female), , counter-revolutionary acts, aggravated rape (rape of a child, gang rape, rape with extremely vicious additional violence and rape of a nun) and aggravated child molestation as well as sex trafficking and child pornography.

TurtleShroom retains and liberally applies the death penalty for large numbers of violent crimes.

Among the list of crimes that can be punishable by death are:
  • Murder of any sapient creature
  • Rape (particularly forcible, conscious rape but also date-rape)
  • Kidnapping
  • Domestic abuse of a spouse or child
  • Nonviolent abuse of a prepubescent child in which the child is sexualized, forced to perform or dance for adults in a sexual manner, or made to dress in drag, as well as repeated "spectacular corruption of a minor"
  • Any deliberate action of violence committed against a child
  • Pederasty/pedophilia or the depiction of the same
  • Child molestation
  • Incest
  • Bestiality (defined as a human having sex with anything that is not the same genus, species, or subspecies of a human, regardless of sapience, normally determined as whether or not the creature can produce offspring)
  • A "pure blood" creature having sex with a chimera
  • Possession or viewing of child pornography (real, drawn, or Hentai)

  • Civilian/layman possession of a nuclear weapon of mass destruction
  • Stealing from or embezzling from the Church (or any other religious institution)
  • Train robbery
  • Starting a violent uprising, labor strike, industrial action, or peasant/worker rebellion on a private company town nobleman's holding, or private land, in which injury or death of any sapient creature occurs
  • Arson in the instances of injury or death of a sapient creature
  • Elective abortion performed in the absence of rape or a medical risk to the mother
  • Human trafficking or sapient trafficking, especially of children
  • Sex trafficking and forced prostitution, especially of females and children

All capital crimes in TurtleShroom can, at the judge's discretion, be sentenced to the alternative of life in prison. The TurtleShroomian penal system does not have parole.

TurtleShroom executes by firing squad, lethal injection, hanging, the electric chair, decapitation by guilliotine, burning at the stake, and stoning.

Burning at the stake has been used twice in TurtleShroomian history and, in both cases, the condemned was first rendered unconcious before the immolation. Stoning has never been used in the history of TurtleShroom.

The last year in which TurtleShroom executed a creature was, as of writing, 2019 AD.

Cosmicium (not the Greater one) is abolitionist in law. The death penalty was abolished in 1992 as one of many of Mortheus Valixor's social reforms, and the last executions happened in 1991, the year before. All prisoners on death row were automatically commuted to life imprisonment. Proposals to reinstate the death penalty during the Cosmician Civil Wars, in 2027 and 2034 were defeated.

In practice, only Resident Aliens are regularly executed. The death penalty is increasingly rare for Full Citizens, Full Residents, Female Residents, and Female Chattel, because they are deemed too valuable to the State. Resident Aliens, however, are largely disposable, so any violent crime by them can and often does lead to castration on the first offense, execution on the second. Unlike Female Chattels, who are basically slaves, Resident Aliens are basically serfs, and these consist of chads, that is, male jocks and brutes whose physical strength and stamina make them ideal for hard manual labor, but useless for anything else. They are often worked to death, fed only the most basic food, and are sometimes even starved to death as examples. They are also given steroids to make them even stronger, though this often makes them more violent and thus they have to be executed or castrated. They are usually kept chaste, unless some social need requires them to have some kind of sexual congress.

No category of resident is designated as part of any of these classes until the age of eighteen, after an aptitude test to determine one's standing. Anyone who fails the most basic IQ test, however, is summarily executed or euthanized to prevent their stupidity from harming the gene pool. Any Resident Alien who engages in sexual congress without permission is summarily executed as well.

Abolitionist in law. The right to life is seen as sacred by both the anarchist and Christian principles the Commons were founded on. Capital punishment has been illegal since the founding of the first Eleosian commune (and thus the “nation”) in 1981, as such there have been no executions. The worst punishment for crime is an enforced ban from the Commons, preventing the individual from ever returning or receiving support from any Eleosian commune

In Synne Industries the death penalty can really mean many things.
There are no real laws involving who is allowed to enforce the death penalty, this has developed into a sort of "frontier justice" system, if you're caught breakin the law bad then anyone's allowed to fill you up with lead or pull out their handy dandy homemade grenade launcher.

Though the list is moderately long here are a few major crimes that can get you marked for termination.
- Murder of over 5 people in a situation where you are the aggressor.
- Utilizing chemical or nuclear weapons on citizens in zones where it is illegal.
- Repeatedly attempting to force beliefs onto a single individual or a group of less than 5,000 people.
- Conventional terrorism
- Active destruction of private property with a total value of over 25,000 crbbles without permission
- Revealing... highly sensitive government secrets

The last official execution was in 2085. Due to the nature of Synne Industries's death penalty law there is no way for the government to get a count of how many executions had taken place in any given year.

Depper Grea retains the death penalty for only the most severe of crimes, typically requiring a ruling from the supreme court of the land for a person to be sent for execution. Crimes for which the death penalty are used include mass murders (serial, and or attacks upon large groups of people), terrorism, and treason.
