SCPS (Silver Comonwealth Proctection Service) reportStatus of Languages in the Commonwealth
''Most of the Earth's languages aren't banned in SC, although the usage, and learning of English is highly encouraged, and even mandatory, as for a lot of regions, English often is a way to understand each other without needing to learn an another language. In general, there are two obligatory languages in SC's schools - English, and the native language of region - learning all other languages is completely optional, however. Despite the mandatory requirement of learning the native language of the region (SC is a world government), a lot of languages are still considered as endangered, particularly the languages of indigenous people of North America, and Polynesia, along with various small European, and African languages. SCPS has estimated, that ''By the end of 21st century, a lot of the Earth's languages will probably have disappeared, or be on verge of extinction''. In further future, some of the other languages might be in danger too.''
''However, there are banned languages in SC - usually constructed languages (a.k.a colangs) like Esperanto, Ithkuil, Romanid, Slovio, and other conlangs, as Tom considers them as ''unnatural languages, because they haven't evolved naturally, but have been created artificially - if the Lord had wanted them, they would have evolved naturally''. The speakers of those languages face no support from the SC's government at best, and are outright imprisoned at worst. Tom plans to stamp out the constructed languages as a whole eventually. However, some of them have managed to survive as ciphers for SC's armies, and other departments - for example, the already mentioned Ithkuil is used as a basis for a very complicated cipher, which makes the documents, and transmissions hard to decode.''
