For films, our rating is classified by letters:

Rating E: Stands for "Every age". Little to no objectionable content is present, and it is viewable by all ages.

Rating PG: Stands for "Parental Guidance". Contains some objectionable content, but mostly harmless. Also viewable by all ages.

Rating T: Stands for "Teenage". Contains objectionable content, but not in a pornographic or overtly violent way. To view this content, citizens must either provide their ID card showing that they are above 13, or be accompanied by an adult of at least 16 years.

Rating A: Stands for "Adult". Contains content that is considered to be pornographic or extremely violent. Citizens must provided their ID card showing they are above 16 in order to view films with this rating.

Video games use a number rating system:

Rating 4+: For ages 4 or older. Zeonic doctors recommend that children not be exposed to video games until they are 4 years old, hence the 4. However, this content is still viewable by all ages.

Rating 10+: For ages 10 and older. These games have some objectionable content, but not to a heavy degree. Also viewable by all ages.

Rating 13+: For ages 13 and older. These games have objectionable content, but not in an overtly obscene way. In order to purchase these games, citizens must provide an ID card showing that they are at least 13.

Rating 16+: For ages 16 and older. These games have content which could be considered pornographic or overtly violent. To purchase these games, citizens must provide an ID card showing that they are at least 16.

Finally for all media there is the D Rating. This rating means "Dangerous", and owning or viewing it is illegal. This is for content that is considered harmful to view, such as illegal pornography or films that encourage violent actions. However, it is most often used on films that are critical of the Zabi family, or the Zeonic government.

REDCON-1

ZeoNet Channel 2:

January 22nd, 0097: Stocks in the Zimmad Corporation have gone down by 5% today, following the military's decision to halt its purchase of the company's latest mobile armor. The unnamed mobile armor has been rumored to have been in development for the past 6 years, and would've been worth roughly $150 million.

Top: From left to right, the symbols for Universal, Advisory, Restricted and Private exhibition respectively.
Middle: An example of a rating with detailed content warnings. Right: Alternative designs for ratings, used on CD and book spines. Bottom: The VOPC's "C" rating in different incarnations.

Ratings for media in Spider Reef are generally self-adminstered, and the Media Rating Councils primary work is to correct wrong ratings, and maintain the database of ratings, along with its website.

U For Universal Exhibition
Content that can be viewed by most. No age limit.
A Adult Advisory
Stronger contetn that may not suitable for everyone. May contain violent, erotic or scary content. Not recommended for younger children. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
X Restricted to mature audiences
Strong content, that is unsuitable for children. May contaain ultraviolence, torture, horror, pornography, and other adult themes. No one under 16 allowed.
P Only for private exhibition
Content not meant/permitted for general consumption. Personal records, surveillance footage, internal records, classified information, illegal content etc. May only be viewed by a limited audience. May not be sold or generally distributed. Possession without owners permission may be illegal.

The organisation V.O.P.C. also reviews on request to evaluate whether they are fit for small children. Media passing receives the mark "CHILD FRIENDLY", in addition to its U rating. Unlike the other ratings, only the VOPC is alllowed to give this rating. It has become an unofficial "C"-rating:
C Universal - Child friendly
Content deemed not contain anything harmful to young children by the VOPC.

The ratings are as many things in Spider Reef derived from an earlier British system. A three part Unrestricted/Semi-restricted/restricted system seems to have formerly been common in many countries.

The Media Rating System of Nippon is called Eirin. Eirin (映倫) is the abbreviated name of the Film Classification and Rating Organization (映画倫理機構 Eiga Rinri Kikō), Eirin was established on the model of the American Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America's Production Code Administration in June 1949, on the instructions of the US occupation force. It classifies films into one of four categories, depending on their suitability for viewing by minors.

As in other countries, Eirin classifies films to indicate their suitability for minors. It considers eight criteria, such as whether the film contains sexual or violent material, and give the film a rating in one of four categories. Although the ratings are sometimes controversial, Eirin's defenders argue that its independence shields filmmakers from the more draconian alternative, government censorship.

During the opening credits (or in some cases, on the copyright screen immediately following the ending credits) of an Eirin-approved film, the Eirin logo is displayed prominently underneath or beside the movie's title. Eirin has no legal power to ban films, but the Japan Association of Theatre Owners forbids its members from screening films that haven’t been classified by Eirin.

From 1976 to May 1, 1998, there were three rating categories:
General Audiences: Patrons of all ages are admitted.
Limited General Film: Patrons under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Adult Audiences: Only adults are admitted.

On May 1, 1998, four rating categories were introduced: R15 and R18 are restricted categories and it is forbidden to admit an underage patron to a film with a restricted rating, rent, sell, exhibit DVDs or motion picture releases to underage patrons with restricted ratings. Such violations are a criminal offense and strictly enforced.

Unrestricted
G: General Audiences. All ages admitted.
PG12 (PG-12): Parental Guidance Requested. Some material may be unsuitable for children under 12. Parents are advised to accompany their children during the film.

Restricted
The R15+ and R18+ ratings are age-restricted. All cinemas are legally required to check the age of all patrons who wish to view an R15+ or R18+ rated film. Admitting underage patrons to such films is considered a criminal offense and can be punished with fines/imprisonment.[citation needed]

R15+ (R-15): Restricted to teenagers 15 and over only. Children and teenagers under the age of 15 are banned from viewing the film.
R18+ (R-18): Restricted to teenagers 18 and over only. Children and teenagers under the age of 18 are banned from viewing the film.

Keep in mind that, in Ruritane, media ratings aren't enforced by law and it is up to the parent/s' discretion whether their kid can see a movie or not. If the kid shows up without a parent, it is well within the cinema staffs' rights to kick them out.

(Warning: bad French)

(Toute les enfants [TLE]) The lowest rating. Must contain no inappropriate content, no death or even fart jokes. The equivalent of G rating.

(Toute le monde [TLM]) Films with this rating are meant for everyone. Both kids and adults can watch them, the rating boards knowing the universal appeal of American animated movies (don't judge me!) Unlike the stereotype, films with this rating can have death, minor swears, and even partial nudity. Like PG.

(Douze [D]) Films are meant for twelve-year-olds and up. However, cinema staff cannot kick out younger kids going with their parents, unless the kids are like very, very young. Most action films and romantic comedies get this rating. Equivalent to PG-13.

(Adulte [A]) The R rating. However, it is not illegal for parents to take their under 18 children to see a film with this rating. Can include things raunchier than your average R rating.

(X) Only adults are allowed to see this movie. No exceptions.

In the Macaronesia, the media ratings are decided by an independent, private organisation called Family Advisory Council (ES: Consejo de Asesoría Familiar, PT: Conselho de Aconselhamento Familiar). It is in charge of defining the media ratings for films, TV programs, books, magazines and videogames. The media rating is not compulsory, but major broadcasters and editors agreed classify their contents to help families to give their children safe access to media.

How it works:

Definition of standards: The Family Advisory Council meets twice a year to review how the standard has been applied, how well the standard has fulfilled its goals and which categories may be redefined. Also, icons are revised to improve their effectiveness.

Categorization: member broadcasters and editors (which represents the 89% of the industry) must attach the proper icon to the frontpage of their book or magazine, the case, webpage or poster of their film or videogame, or overlap it on the screen for three seconds while broadcasting, according to the characteristics of the plot or broadcast. The other broadcasters and editors are not obblied, but almost all of them also fulfill the requierements.

Claims: if a member broadcaster or editor miscategorizes a media, any person can claims before the responsible, and the answer (or the absence of it) can be appealed before the Family Advisory Council, which is able to punish the broadcaster or editor in case of reoffending. For no-members, the Council usually sends letters recommending to join it.

Criticism:

Despite 52.3% of surveyed have agreed with the advisory system, a wide 41.2% agree it is very intrusive and 37.4% think morality should not be a factor to tag culture. For her part, the Small Editors Association brands the system a moat designed by large editors to prevent their associated to grow.

I made up a rating system and then a country to fit. Then I find this post. :)

There is no dedicated ratings agency in Borking, and instead people can take a course to qualify for rating media. A professional body, the Committee of Censorship (De Censurcomitey/C.C.) can overule and change ratings, as well as ban it.

Age Ratings
Image
0- Recommended for very young children
When content is harmless enough to be suitable for small children, the rating "0" is used. This rating is mostly found in children's books.

Image
4 - Generally recommended except for children under 4
Suitable for most people. Very little to no violence, no scary scenes, and strict morality.

Image
8 - Not recommended for children under 8
For older children. Violence without explicit injury, scary scenes not directly horrifying, the presence of evil and cruel characters and institutions, and examples of antisocial behavior, which must nonetheless be condemned.

Image
12 - Not recommend for children under 12
Teenagers lives are often filled with a developing sexuality, fighting becomes more serious with growing bodies, and a a good measure of rebelliousness, often followed by a tendency for bad language. It thus makes little sense to censor such content. A more nuanced moral environment can be shown, as long as it ultimately guides towards proper morality.

Image
16 - Only for people above 16
After the age of 16, most people can distance themselves from and understand strong content. Sexual content, harsh and realistic violence, and horror may appear. Characters are not required to follow any moral code.

Image
20 - Not allowed for anyone under 20
Crude pornography, ultraviolence, gruesome and extreme content, or content instructing or propagating racist and/or criminal acts. Strictly restricted by law to adults.

Only the ratings 16 and 20 are legally restricted, the age ratings 0, 4, 8 and 12 being recommendations. Libraries and cinemas, however follow the ratings strictly. Many shops require adult accompaniment or written permission to sell 0/4/8/12-rated media to children below recommended age.

Experts agree that children under 4 should not play video games or view film.

For video games, certain foreign rating agencies are considered "qualified" and the following formula is used:

Label for material censored by competent body (here C.C.). Although this usually implies illegal content, only police and court may deem things "illegal"

0 - Available to everyone (free access for everyone); includes both kids shows and any easily understandable media content.
1 - Available to those with stable mental capacity (anyone who was tested to be able to differentiate between fantasy and reality); generally includes adult themes and fantasy content based on reality or set in the real world.

The Uashekian Media Curation Board rates all Video Games, Films, Records, Television Programs, Text Publications and even Radio Programs with the "Color Stamp" System. This stamp is displayed on all physical copies of the program, is painted below radio dials in a spectrum (as radio stations are organized by rating), and the color stamp and age guidelines are displayed before the feature presentation of a film or television broadcast.

Blue: Suitable for young children and above.
Green: Suitable for elementary school children and above
Yellow: Suitable for ages 12 and up.
Orange: Suitable for ages 16 and up.
Red: Suitable for adults (18+)
(Note: only Green, Yellow and Orange exist for Radio Stations)

The law also categorizes material that the UMCB has not stamped in 3 ways:

Unstamped: Material that is very un-tolerated, though not quite banned in itself. Foreign-made hardcore pornography, particularly unflattering material to the state, and the like will be unstamped.
Forbidden: Film that is criminal in nature. Classified material, stolen surveillance footage, other criminally-attained footage, or footage made as scouting or demonstration for the purpose of future criminal behavior.
Degenerate: Truly disgusting and felonious material, the likes of which usually involves the direct and real abuse of human beings or other innocent creatures to produce. Possession of degenerate media carries a heavy sentence, and its sale or production can permanently end your life as a free citizen.

It is a felony to broadcast unstamped material, host it in a theater, or sell/display it to children (or even openly in a storefront that permits the presence of children), but not a crime to sell physical copies to adults. It is a misdemeanor to sell red-stamped material to someone who is not an adult without a parent present.

There is not a rating for broadcasted media, but distributable media (such as VHS, CD, DVD, Floppy disks, Blu-ray, books, etc) are classified in three possible cathegories:

Image
Approved by the President

The President states there is no risk in accessing the content.

Image
No impressed the President

The President thinks the content is useless, but not risky.
It must be accessed with caution in case
there would be revolutionary hidden messages.

Image
Rejected by the President

The content is highly dangerous for the Nation's safety,
or criticizes the President, or shows revolutionary dangerous messages
that can pervert citizens' moral or the Nation's integrity.
Accessing the content is severly punished.

Media ratings in Central Subhurbia
G: General audience. Friendly to all audiences.
PG: Parental guidance suggested. May occasionally have mild violent and platonic content. Audiences 10 and older can watch without guidance.
14+: Audiences 14 and older can watch without guidance. Will have stronger platonic content (like couples kissing for example) and show some violence via weaponry. There is bleeding but no graphic imagery. There may also be mild language.
18+: Audiences 18 and older can watch without guidance. Children 12 and younger are restricted from watching it. Mild pornographic content, strong violence, strong language. Contains graphic imagery.
25+: Audiences 25 and older can watch. People under the age of 18 can’t watch it. Those between 18 and 24, would require a mental checkup. Strong graphic imagery (like images of people having their limbs severed, detailed violence), excessive profanity. Strong pornographic content.
Not to be mistaken for Suburbia.

E (1-5) - This rating denotes games that are directed towards children ranging from ages 1 to 5. There is no rating system. Media producers simply write a synopsis of the content, either in the packaging or advertising, and that's it. If a show or game is explicitly for children, they tend to say so in order to draw the right audience, but it's up to Coders to decide if that content is appropriate for their offspring's developmental level.

Decepticons are against the idea of showing youngsters a falsely safe or rosy view of the world, for that leads to them wanting to wimpify real life later on. To be Victorious, one must not be shy of violence and other nitty-gritty aspects of life! We do our best to ensure that our youth will not only be ready for action, but outright eager to get into battle and raid other planets, or outright take them over to expand our empire!

There are a few general restrictions on all media, such as that no anti-government material may be produced, Decepticon values must be promoted, and Decepticons must always win in the end. Media also may not be "dumbed down." Here, the lowest common denominator is not catered to, but instead, is at risk of meltdown. Keeping our shows at a higher intellectual level is just one of the ways we pressure people to make sure they have at least a decent amount of processing power. (Note that we can just buy more/better processors at the parts store and install them, so being stupid is not an incurable condition).

Media is rated in a simple system in Omonros that is mandated by law in the Sovereign Kingdom.

AA: All Audiences. Self-explanitory, the media is deemed safe for even the most fragile of folks. (i.e. Sesame Street, Masha and the Bear)
MA: Mature Audiences. Must be at the legally defined 'Adolescent' age of your species to see in a public theater. Content may contain some light violence, very limited gore (no more than a bloody nose,) sexual innuendos, and limited disturbing content. (i.e. Stranger Things, Pitch Perfect)
DA: Adult Audiences. Must be at the legally defined 'Adult' age of your species to see in a public theater. Content may contain significantly more violence, gore, and some indication or mention of sexual behavior. (i.e. Deadpool, Scream, The Ritual)
IC: Inappropriate content. Sexual behavior, drug use, excessive violence or other content unsuitable for some audiences may be featured. (i.e. The Conjuring, Scream Queens)
EC: Explicit content. Excessive gore, sexuality, violence or other content is featured. (i.e. Breaking Bad, Blair Witch)
RC Restricted content. Pornographic content, extreme gore, other content that can be described as 'Disturbing' or 'Family Unfriendly.' (i.e. A S**bian Film, Porn)

Griemvarant has three rating systems for television, film and interactive media. Music has no rating system, as the ability to sample songs before buying an album means that any parent who takes five minutes out of their life to inspect what their child wants to listen to will be able to discern if it's something they want in their house.

Film
G - General Audiences. This encompasses anything from wholesome children's movies to inoffensive documentaries.
10+ - Films with some violence, intense action or mild romantic themes fit this category.
15+ - Modern popcorn action flicks and limp-wristed horror movies are included here, as well as more heady romantic themes without nudity.
18+ - Intense violence, moderate nudity, and mild sexual themes.
R - Restricted. While technically open to anyone 18 and older, this rating is used to represent that the content goes well above and beyond what one would expect to see in an 18+ film. Overwhelming and realistic gore, graphic sexual content and more. The Restricted rating is more important for sale than for a theater rating, as purchasing a copy requires proof of age.

TV
A - All Audiences. Bob Ross, Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street and the like, as well as most old cartoons.
P - Parental Presence Suggested. The show may have mild violence or deeper concepts such as death that are not explicitly explained like in educational programming. Children may have questions and it is best for parents to be there to answer them.
T - Teenage Demographic. These may feature romantic plots, intense action and more visceral violence.
NC - No Children. This program is completely unsuitable for children. Gore, sexuality and disturbing psychological horror.

Interactive
While originally designed solely for video games, these ratings are now used for visual novels and VR experiences as well.
A - All Audiences. Atari games, classic Nintendo and the like.
7+ - More complicated games like RPGs, as well as games with more defined violence in the vein of Super Smash Bros.
13+ - Most fighting games, games with some blood or sexually suggestive content.
17+ - Intense blood and violence, gore, nudity.
R - Much like the film rating, this indicates content above and beyond that is included in 17+ media. Overwhelming violence, graphic nudity, etc. Purchase of such media requires proof of age.
Take the NS Stats with a grain of salt - not all generated policies are completely consistent.
