But still, there's hardly any traffic. You want to know my secret for keeping roads empty? Tax the hell out of road users, except the wealthiest. Here, registration fees are inversely proportional to the value of the car—a license plate for a Peugeot 208 costs half as much as the car does, but a Rolls-Royce won't cost a penny. Owners of expensive cars also care more about their precious rides than someone driving an old banger, so they're more likely to drive carefully. So this makes driving safer, too."

Acquiring a car or driving licence in our nation is not considered particularly difficult. A driving licence will cost about 275₣ (~$555), although that cost is inclusive of the cost of attending driving school, taking the written exam, taking driving lessons (at least 25 hours of driving lessons are mandatory), and taking the road test. Renewal of one's licence only costs about 30₣ (~$60).
Due to our country's small size and lack of automobile manufacturing facilities, cars are generally somewhat more expensive depending on where they were imported from. Registration fees are based entirely upon the weight of the car:
Automobiles with a weight of up to 1099 kilograms have a registration fee of 7.95₣ (~$16)
Automobiles with a weight of between 1100 and 1599 kilograms have a registration fee of 12.50₣ (~$25)
Automobiles with a weight of 1600 kilograms or greater have a registration fee of 19.00₣ (~$38)
