The social security system of the Pan-Asiatic States is one of the most advanced in the world. Fiscal 2019 saw Welfare partake a whopping 9%~ of the government's overall expenditure, although there are plans to lower its allocations, we remain in the Top 2% in the NS-verse for highest welfare budget. It functions in such a way that all Asians are entitled to basic necessities, such as housing, electricity, connection to the internet, even water and food. That means even the lowest-paid workers at least have the right to live among Asian society.

On the other hand however, labor is enforced, although it doesn't really matter what job you choose to partake in. Everyone is entitled to the same social services and public resources.

The representation of workers is essential to the Pan-Asiatic way of living, and our nation commands a planned, democratic economy. Autonomous cooperatives are not really necessary except for Pan-Asiatic companies operating outside the territories of the Pan-Asiatic States, of which only a few exist. In our State-Socialist economy, workers have total majoritarian control over the labor of their respective companies. Workplaces are headed by elected economic managers instead of bosses, companies are headed by elected economic directors instead of CEOs. Companies are all state-controlled, state-maintained, and state-founded; except in certain economic zones where foreign companies are permitted to operate, or in regards to certain trade negotiations."

The topic of diplomacy with the Pan-Asiatic States has been brought up in a debate/interview style event with the favourites to become leader of each of the 4 major political parties, with one potentially becoming president in November depending on the result of November's Federal Election.

"In a leaked government document, the Pan-Asiatic States has been named as a country on Huterrica's 'Alliance Watch List'. This nation practices communism, and Huterrica has always typically been a left leaning country. How would you go about diplomacy with the Pan-Asiatic States?" the host asks.

The favourite to become leader of the far-left One Huterrica Party, Stephanie Brett, who is a member of the democratic socialist wing of the party, speaks up first, "Their political stance in terms of economic policy isn't an issue with us. My only worry is that it would cause infighting among our own party due to the socialist/communist split which our party admittedly has. However I feel the safest way to go about it if we weren't going to look at social policy is to not debate it, but reach out and befriend them. However, obviously we as a party cannot create a new alliance with a nation that's too socially authoritarian, being the most libetarian party in Huterrica, but regardless we hope that some kind of middle ground can be established with the PAS for some kind of trade or military alliance."

Barbara Chapman, the favourite to become the new leader of the Freedom Party, Huterrica's largest and ruling party, nods slowly. The Freedom Party are social democrats, and like all major parties in Huterrica lie in the libertarian wing of the political spectrum. Barbara Chapman is currently the favourite to become president. She says "Yes, in terms of economic policy my view more or less matches that of the One Huterrica party, but not for the same reason. The Freedom Party policy is to respect all nations' views so long as said nation isn't abusing human rights. We'd be hypocritical to call ourselves the Freedom Party and then dictate how other nations govern themselves, within reason, through our actions. Obviously we wouldn't ally with a nation that blatantly abuses and denies its citizens basic rights, but otherwise it is policy to be open to new diplomacy and trade opportunities with other nations. Yes, I would venture to have a positive relationship with the Pan-Asiatic states, through trade, military, or good friendship between our nations. I would even go as far to offer their leaders a state visit to Huterrica. I'm open to these possibilities. Nations don't have to share our values to be friendly with us - they just need to share our values to join a relaxed border agreement with us."

Harry Tan, favourite to become leader of CLAP - the 2nd largest party and a bit closer to the centre than the other two left wing parties - says with a concerned look on his face "If they're not going to trade with us there is no point. They'd need to be open to us supplying them with precious minerals, food and drink, technologies, and medical supplies as a base one before I'll have any interest in engaging with this country. We can't support them without support for us"

Jonathan Peters, favourite to lead the right wing United Party, puts his foot down and says "My view is the exact same as CLAP's, but rather given the fact communism is being practised in the Pan-Asiatic States I would go on to say that if they won't trade with us at least, we need to add these guys to the "Of Concern" list of nations the HIA has. Communism will never liberate the people and communism is wholly against basic Huterric values that I as president would expect all nations who want to engage with us to have."

How would the Pan-Asiatic States go about diplomacy with the Huterric Union if either of these 4 politicians became president? And as such, who would the Pan-Asiatic States endorse to become the Huterric President should it want a diplomatic relationship with the Huterric Union?
