OOC: I like it. :)

In Ghost Land, the income and corporate tax is currently 91% at the federal level alone, with states, counties, and cities also having the power to levy taxes. People who make over $20,000 greater than the average income pay a 100% tax rate. Sales tax varies depending on city, county, and state, but the federal minimum is 5% (in Central Spookville, the county that serves as the capital, it's 7.2%, for example).

Top Income Tax Rate: 28% (Charged on both labor income and capital gains)
Social Insurance Taxes: 8% (Includes both employer and employee halves)
Corporate Tax Rate: 0%
Sales Tax Rate: 0%

Ceranapis raises significant revenue from the land tax, a tax on the unimproved value of land. Land is taxed in the Georgist manner, at 100% of the rental value. Revenue is split between the national, state, and local governments. The country also levies a progressive income tax, and taxes for social insurance purposes.

The country levies a variety of other taxes as well. Such taxes include the carbon tax ($50 per tonne), the inheritance tax (65% on fortunes above $2M), and sin taxes on drugs and alcohol. While there is no national sales tax, many state and local governments levy sales taxes of between 4-8% in addition to local income taxes of 2-5%.
