Ramsetia's opinion, Revealed!

Postby Ramsetia » Wed Apr 14, 2010 12:37 pm

(Bandwagon-jumping skills! Away!)

The Imperial Assembly of the Territories of Ramsetia have decided to make their opinions of nations known to the world, but first require the permission of the said nations. Any who are interested in finding out what the land of the amethyst papyrus thinks of you and your kind, by all means, simply leave us a message with a link to an appropriate reference guide.

-The absolute royal federation of Imeriata and her realms-

Hereditary Monarchies do rub some of our political columnists the wrong way, as there are few safeguards should (her divinity forbid it...) an incompetent be propelled to a position beyond their comprehension simply because they were born to the correct man or woman. Your Class-based structure, and adherence to laws of nobility are also at odds with our own culture.

However, the rigidty of the system does present stability, after a fashion, and stability brings with it a sense of safety, which is important for any citizen. Your nature seems rather uptight, and the excessive formality is at odds with our own society.

Your attitudes towards non-humans are considered backwards, and your arrogance in declaring your culture inequitably superior to all others without quantifying the statement is glaring, especially considering your crown prince's little 'adventure' in our own city of Thebasis.

The climate of Imeriata seems equal to our own, though at the far end of the temperature scale.

However, despite the above points. You are an honourable people who take what they perceive as their duties with a great deal of seriousness, and we are not quite so different.

-Jalanat-

Another Island Nation, The prevalence of natural disasters mentioned in your factbook makes your nation seem somewhat a dangerous place to live, however, that is not saying much considering our own climate and geography. Your economy is well-presented, and your high expenditures on education give the impression of a highly-educated society.

From the glimpses of your culture we have been able to obtain, your nation shows great pride in it's president and his species.

Again, due to your more tropical climate, the prevalence of beaches, and our impressions of your culture, we would say that your nation is, despite it's instability in the political arena, a genuinely sound and admirable place.

Our empress has expressed personal amusement (In the most respectful manner) at your nation's ruling party being referred to as 'ninjas'.

-The City of Norfolk-

The high level of personal freedoms make your nation, at first glance, a primarily sound place to live, and Ramsetia shares a civil war in her own past, though not as recent as your own. However, the sheer mass of military spending, and the worrying picture of combat-equipped soldiers 'keeping the peace' during an election period does put our Ministry of Foreign Relations on edge.

The implication that your constitution is open to interpretation is a point of contention, though it is not our place to criticise other's laws.

The variety of terrains and weather throughout your states may interest tourism from Ramsetia, should they find anything worth seeing.

We are someone confused as to the meaning of your national motto, as the city of Carthage was meant to have been destroyed during ancient times. An explanation would be appreciated, but is not necessary.

-The Federal Republic of Zeppy-

First and Foremost, we would like to extend our respect for your clear and easily legible guidebook. The information within is well-presented, and quite thorough, making our research easy and efficient.

On to your nation itself, The Imperial Assembly commends the protocol in place for design and implementation of new laws by the Republic's governing body, and the numerous failsafes in place. The de-linking of Canton seats and the population of each Canton does seem a little irrational, as this seems to detract from the 'each having his say' aims of democracy, however, we can see it lending a solidarity amongst the Cantons that each has equal presence.

Protection of the environment is always an admirable trait, and while we are saddened to see it is not enforced at a federal level, the fact that Cantons are making an effort of their own is worth mention.

Economically, we are impressed by the seeming stability, and the artistic touches of your physical denominations.

In summary, Our opinion of Zeppy is at the higher end of the scale, however, due to a lack of diplomatic relations, or a first-hand glimpse of their culture, we cannot give an accurate guess at the average Ramset opinion, Though judging by the climate and natural beauty, one would suggest that many Ramset would find it an excellent place to holiday.

me please, link to factbook can be found in signature under nation info.
My nation is not like my nation page at all, it contradicts itself, we don't EVER eat kangaroos, that's just very sad. Also vegetarianism is compulsory yet it still says it's the nation's favourite main course and all and stuff.

((OOC: Due to amount of replies, and general real-world busy-ness, I might take a while to actually get around to your nation. I'll try to do as many as quick as I can, though))

-The Conservative Democracy of Litharius-

Information on your nation being as scarce as it is, The Imperial Assembly has asked the opinions of several tourists to your nation, and found favourable reviews and recommendations from Ramset who have visited your shores. They have implied that your nation has a great deal of pride in it's presentation, and takes great care of it's cities and national parks.

The prevalence of Atheism is notable, and would seemingly serve to make communications and interactions with your nation smooth and unhindered by religious dancing around issues.

A stable democracy with a strong tourism industry. We are unable to find much more information, though, so we give you a tentative seal of approval, and have made a place for your nation on the travel advisory board's list of places worth a visit.

-Skibereen-

Your economic strength is almost enough to bring envy from our own corporations, and utilising it to encourage previously adversarial groups to work together is an interesting method of encouraging growth. We are concerned, though, that should an economic downturn occur, that the stability in your nation would begin to dissolve. The prevalence of base metals and other mineral resources does alleviate this concern, somewhat.

The fact that sports teams form a major component in some of your political party's attempts to gain votes confuses us, but that is a cultural difference, and any democratic government functions much the same.

The ancient history in your nation has attracted the attention of the Loremaster Corps., who would like an opportunity to study the lost civilisation found within your territory, specifically any religious rites they may have had.

Your nation is deeply intriguing, and, with all due respect, worthy of further study. We don't intend to make you sound like a test subject, it was the most appropriate term.

-The Unified Federation of Rejistan-

Your history is an intriguing and interesting series of events, and we are beginning to notice a pattern of warring tribes being unified by outside influence. Your method of denoting 10s, 100s, and 1000s, is quite interesting, and pleasing to the eye and mind. The focus of your nation's populace upon something frivolous like Football does alarm us, seeming to our culture to be a method of control over the people. However, we are certain we're wrong in that regard.

The utilisation of multiple seperate currencies confuses us, as does the complexities of your governmental system, however, with so many distinct sub-cultures in your nation, the arrangements do begin to make a certain amount of sense. After careful study.

We outright applaud your ability to confuse the JOY unit, as that AI had it coming. We would like to discuss a reward should you be able to do the same to that command prompt that's been running around the diplomatic channels and refusing to lay down at a logical paradox like a good little programme.

-New Nicksyllvania-

We shall take your sharing of your opinion...such as it is...as an invitation to give ours.

Nicksyllvania and it's colonies are no threat to Ramset Aerial Supremacy, and their military air power could be equated to a gnat trying to attack a dragonfly. Their ground forces do demand some respect, though their actions on the battlefield, including and not limited to trench warfare and indiscriminate ballistic bombardments, limit their effectiveness. Much more respect is paid to their long-suffering navy, and the Press gangs that are forced to man it.

Civics-wise, Nicksyllvania is an industrial nation whose culture seems to have stagnated completely at a level similar to the fictional nation of Britain during their Imperialistic phase. Their treatment of women is borderline abuse, and their attitudes to anyone else are even worse than Imeriata's.

Aside from the threat of...as the Empress succinctly put it 'catching the stupids'...there is no need to regard Nicksyllvania as anything more than an amusing distraction. Much like a hound chasing it's own tail, really.

IC:
Scholarly pursuits are prized highly in Skibereen and any such information that Academics and Professional scholars from Ramsetia could glean from the investigations into the earliest inhabitants of the islands is welcome to be collected. As well more modern sociological study is welcome. Academic exchanges is all that is requested in recompense.
