The Department of International Affairs has been tasked with the establishment of an embassy program to connect with other Nations inside NationStates multiverse.

The Mahrenbach Federation is a federal presidential republic founded by a group of mega corporations and independent nations on a sub-tropical Continent. For more details, visit our Factbook. The MF is following a pragmatic foreign policy focused on economic and cultural exchanges with other nations. Around a hundred million people live within it's borders in a free and highly dynamic society.

The socio-ecnomic system of the Federation is based on capitalism and welfare, aiming at giving the greatest amount of freedoms and opportunities for all it's citizens while safeguarding the less fortunate and thus giving itself a solid foundation onto which the future may be build upon.

Geographically the Nation encompasses all of an entire, roughly australia sized continent in sub-tropical to mediterranean environment and some neighbouring islands. 80% of the population is living in the highly developed urban areas which are connected by highways, railroads and airports. Climate ranges from temprate to tropical in the south which is also home to many tourist centers and lots of beaches.

Dear Minister of International Affairs,

Thank you for your thread creation of 21 March 2019 allowing for a Parliamentary Confirmation into agreement of embassy exchange between the Mahrenbach Federation and the Realm of Yohannes. I am also responding on behalf of The Rt Hon First Lord Hilda von und zu Hartjenstein and The Hon Minister Emily Kirchweger to whom I report on the matter.

Mahrenbach and the Nineteen Countries, I believe, share the same values of diplomatic partnership, of responsible government, and a history of open diplomacy—three important things to realising a harmonious relationship between two nation-states. I have been impressed also by the good manner of the Mahrenbachian people during my visit to the thriving city of Trevoria. It is for that reason that I would like to acknowledge the strength that you have shown, and are showing, in furthering the economic and social well-being of your people. Your governing principles align well with the eighth introductory principle of Economy and Industry of our nation-state. That is why I am committed to realising this embassy exchange agreement.

Following the discussion held by our respective diplomats behind the scenes over the last few weeks, I would like to clarify that Parliament did finally issue their assent on 18 April 2019, Parliamentary Motions—Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, which confirmed the letter of credence of Her Excellency Erika Hülsen in her place as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Realm of Yohannes to the Mahrenbach Federation. A copy of the Executive Council’s response and Parliament’s final assent and report of stipulations in their entirety will be published on the Electoral Debates Hansard website shortly.

I am keen to encourage Yohannesian businesses to participate in the Mahrenbachian market. As I suggested based on the discussion at our last meeting, I believe that new commerce and trade between companies of our respective citizen sectors may offer new opportunities to maintain our respective nations’ growth target for the fiscal year 2019-2020.

I would like to finish by acknowledging the important contribution Her Excellency the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mahrenbach is making to the cause of open diplomacy and the principle of open embassy exchange between members of the international community of nations and regions. I hope that I will be able to attend the Ambassador Introduction event next week, and I look forward to seeing you then.

Short Biography and Background(optional):

Erika Lena Hülsen, Her Excellency Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, is a Yohannesian diplomat and former solicitor who is the first and current Ambassador of Yohannes to Mahrenbach. Her accreditation was registered by Parliament’s Advisory, Press and Private Committee on 3 April 2019.

Raised by her parents Wendelin and Hertha in the Kingdom of Alexandria, Hülsen was educated at the state-integrated Queen Margaret College and attended the University of Yohannes to study Law. Upon her graduation in 2001, she was nominated to become one of many promising interns for the World Assembly Mission of the Nineteen Countries. Hülsen returned to Yohannes after two years to work at the specialist trust law firm Ribbentrop Wagner in Royal Alexandria. Coming into contact with then local Member of Parliament for the Laisä electorate, her name was forwarded as a possible Legal Attaché for the Yohannesian embassy in the Empire of Majapahit.

In February 2018, following the electoral victory of Marion Maréchal-Le Men as the eighteenth Yohannesian Emperor, Hülsen was nominated, in her position as a senior diplomat and provisional parliamentary adviser to the Thirty-sixth Christian Democratic Executive Council by then, as a possible candidate for the Office of Ambassador in Mahrenbach. In April 2019, her candidacy was finalised before Parliament’s select committee, and following her accreditation she became the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Realm of Yohannes to the Mahrenbach Federation.

Do you have any special requests?: We request for the permission to include the Mahrenbach Federation under the Von Bismarck Intercultural Scholar Programme. The Von Bismarck Intercultural Scholar Programme is one of the most competitive grants for promising secondary school and university students in the Nineteen Countries; it forces participants to go outside their comfort zones on a culturally enriching exchange programme outside Yohannes.
