The head of the executive branch is the President, and is addressed as "President <lastname>" or "Mister/Madam President" and is the head of state. They are assisted by a first and second Vice-President, addressed "Vice-President <lastname> or "Mister/Madam Vice-President."

The head of the judicial branch is the Chancellor, who is the head of government. They lead the Court of Chancery, assisted by a dozen judges who are titled Justiciar.

The head of the legislative branch is the Speaker of The National Chamber, who is addressed as "Speaker." They are selected from amongst the 360 members of The National Chamber, who are otherwise addressed as Representative.

At the bailiwick level you have the Reeve-General (Executive), who is addressed as Reeve, the Bailiff (Justice), and the legislature full of Deputies lead by a Chief Deputy.

Each bailiwick is further divided in to shires, which have their own systems for managing things and may see differences in positions and government styles. The only consistent title is that of the shire-reeve, who is the chief executive of the shire and is addressed as Sheriff.

The Director is to be addressed as befits his station; namely, as Dîrêctûre (IPA: [diːˈreːktuːrɛ]), the vocative form of Haeresiac High Latin Dîrêctûrus "Director." The interjection avê ([ˈaweː]) is often used before the title, especially when speaking for the first time in a specific setting, such as introducing oneself or in an official meeting. The Low Latin vocative Au Tîrîχtûr may be used only by the board members of the Directorate in rather unofficial settings.

• Imperatoris Saeculi - The title of the Emperor of Amserten. Literally means "Emperor of Time"
• Amsertus - A translated variant of 'Amserten'. Neither 'Amserten' nor 'Amsertus' are the native forms of the name.
• Henius Amsis - The name of the current Emperor. Henius is the Emperor's name (again translated) and Amsis is his adoptive House of Thought.
• II - Henius Amsis II is the second Emperor of that name.
• Ruler of the 42 Second Empire - The Empire is commonly named 'The 42 Second Empire', as it exists in a time loop, the duration of which is 42 seconds.
• Defier of the Legalist Heresies - The Legalist Heresies are those who oppose the 42 Second Empire's right to continued existence and their own defiance of the laws of time.
• Defender of the Amsertic People - Used in place of a former title 'Defender of the Faith'. The Empire has now disavowed itself from any form of official religion, instead utilising a kind of "Faith of Science". As such, the Emperor, instead of defending that science-faith, defends the Amsertic people from threats near and far.
• Holder of the Temporal Creed - The Temporal Creed is the closest thing to a constitution that the Amsertic Empire possesses. It was formed during the first 300 cycles of the 42 Second Empire.
• Leader of the Temporal Magisters - The Temporal Magisters are the scientific and political elite of the 42 Second Empire. They are the only ones who are allowed to leave the Empire without the permission of the Emperor, though the Emperor is the one who officially leads their order.
• First Among Minds - The 42 Second Empire is a cross between a Geniocracy and a Technocracy, and so the Emperor is expected to be both intelligent and a leader in their scientific field.
• Supreme Ringmaker - "Ringmaker" is used somewhat metaphorically here. The Emperor is the one who oversees the continuation of the Time Loop inside which the 42 Second Empire exists. "Loop" and "Ring" are used somewhat interchangeably, and so one who makes a loop can be called a "Ringmaker".
