We came out of the ashes of the 2nd American civil war. The Concervatives stayed in Hopington and the Liberals fled the country and went to what used to be New York, California, Canada and Florida New Disney world took over Florida so they either stayed or went to Cuba. California was taken over by Mollosia witch allowed them to stay however most went to Canada or to Baja. The people who went to Canada either survived in Forest Tribes or froze to death.

That said, the above designations are worded in line with Earthian/American definitions. To us, it is just the normal way of doing things, and we don't even use the left/right designation. These terms arose due to how people sat in a parliament in a country on another planet from ours. Most citizens agree with these concepts, and the political parties are closer to one another on the political spectrum than they are in most other nations.
