WHAT IS Novae Terrae?
Welcome to the RP organization and advertisement thread of Novae Terrae! We are an active(ish), established online community, with a wide variety of concepts and plenty of space to explore your nation and its inhabitants. We offer the opportunity for RPers to explore themselves and each other through interesting and unique narratives.
While Novae Terrae is not just a RPing region, it is a major focus of the community. This thread exists to both hype up upcoming RP threads, as well as offer advice and organize future RP threads in an open and friendly environment. Topics of threads are as vast as this community is diverse, and nothing should be dismissed outright.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Novae Terrae as a planet is comparable to Earth in size and climate, though not a carbon copy. This also means that we measure IC time as progressing the same rate to real-life time. Due to this, keep in mind that, unless stated otherwise, all RPs take place in the current time and on Novae Terrae.
- Novae Terrae’s main canon is predominantly Modern Tech. This is generally defined as technology that is currently in mass production (and not technology that is only in development). Financial constraints can also apply. This being said, some deviation to real life is allowed, given different patterns of development, and different national priorities. While this is the set technology, other RP ideas are accepted and can be discussed, such as FT, PMT, PT, FanT, and all their derivatives.
- Novae Terrae places some limitations on stats, particularly military, economic and demographic figures. These are not quite as strict as real life, and are largely negotiable. Keep concepts just as this in mind when developing an RP as well as RP'ing.
- Any and all genres are open. Military fiction, noir, drama, political thrillers, daily life, and more are the usual stock RPs, but that does not mean they have to be the only ones. RPs with an AU theme, or with another time period can build off this, as well as the work-in-progress Supernatural/Horror-based canon known as "Anomalous Novae Terrae." Nothing is off the table, so long as it somewhat conforms to the rules of the forum and the most important rule: The Rule of Cool.
- The United Remnants of America (URA) is our Il Mentore. He is the foremost "world" expert on Roleplays and will always be around to offer advice, help work out ideas, and generate hype. Think of URA as customer support.

Members looking to try drafting an RP(aka being OP), get feedback on RP ideas, or generate excitement for an upcoming RP can see here an RP Template through which to start putting the proverbial ink on paper. While we have a Discord to also discuss these RPs and offer feedback, that can generally turn into what I like to call "a massive clusterfuck." So this thread can streamline ideas and concepts, as well as the responding feedback.
