A Short Overview
Leskya, officially the People's Socialist Union of Leskya (English: /ɭɛskjɑ/, Esperanto: /ɭɛskjɒ/), also called PSU Leskya, is a country located in Southern and Central Europe. It is bordered to the north by [nation=noflag]Aressna[/nation], to the west by Northern Italy, to the northwest by Germany, to the east by Turkey, and to the northeast by Ukraine. At approximately 1,190,610 km² (459,697 sq mi), Leskya is the second-largest country by land area in Europe (beaten only by Russia itself), and twenty-fourth largest in the world. Leskya has an approximate population of 223,728,961, approximately 90 million of which have a foreign background. It has a relatively high population density, at 188 inhabitants per square kilometre -- roughly that of Nepal; the highest concentrations are located in coastal, primarily eastern parts of the country. Approximately 60% of the population lives in urban areas, although the urbanization rates vary greatly between states.

Bucharest is the largest city and capital; other major cities include Belgrade, Athens, Zagreb, and Budapest.

As a fragile multiethnic state born out of the Ottoman Empire, Leskya attempted to strengthen its fragile system, but mounting political and historic ethnic conflicts caused constant instability and civil strife. Following the Nazi invasion during World War II, the declaration of the Federal Socialist Union of Leskya occurred on 26 April, 1945; the country officially established communist rule under the leadership of Arian Vasile. Since then, the country has been under the rule of the Revolutionary Workers' Party of Leskya, which disbanded during the establishment of multi-party democracy in 1987. Currently, the United Socialist Party claims to be the official successor of the RWPL, and has been continuously in power since 1987.

Embassy Regulations

• All diplomatic staff must go through the standard diplomatic visa process.
• Embassies and consulates are prohibited from hiring over 50 members of staff. Embassies and consulates may petition the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs to be exempt from this rule. The People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs may reject or accept any petition.
• All weapons must be registered with the People's Commissariat of State Security.
• Armed or heavily armoured vehicles are prohibited from entering urban regions in Leskya.
• Embassy or consulates are allowed to register aircraft at regional airports controlled by Leskyan authorities. Aircraft are prohibited from parking on embassy and consulate land for any period over 24 hours.
• All foreign embassy and consulate land apply under extraterritoriality laws of the World Assembly. All foreign diplomatic staff are guaranteed diplomatic immunity as per World Assembly laws. However, the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs retains the right to expel any diplomat from Leskya. Diplomatic immunity is not extended to security or service staff.

• Nations may retain only one Consulate-General in Leskya. Requests for any additional Consulate-Generals will be denied automatically.

Dear Commissar Fedric Hansson,

Thank you for your thread creation of 18 January 2019 allowing for a Parliamentary Confirmation into agreement of embassy exchange between the People’s Socialist Union of Leskya and the Realm of Yohannes. I am also responding on behalf of The Rt Hon First Lord Hilda Von und Zu Hartjenstein and The Hon Minister Emily Kirchweger to whom I report on the matter.

The People’s Socialist Union and the Nineteen Countries, I believe, share the same values of embassy and consulate partnership, of responsible government, and a history of open diplomacy — three important things to realising a harmonious relationship between two nation-states. I have been impressed also by the good manner of the Leskyan people during my visit to the thriving city of Stockholm. It is for that reason that I would like to acknowledge the strength that you have shown, and are showing, in realising the principles of democracy and equal rights for all before the law. Your governing principles align well with the fourth introductory principle of the Rule of Law of our nation-state. That is why I am committed to realising this embassy exchange agreement.

Following the discussion held by our respective diplomats behind the scenes over the last few weeks, I would like to clarify that parliament did finally issue their assent on 14 January 2019, Parliamentary Motions — Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, which confirmed the letter of credence of Her Excellency Gretel Schönbaum in her place as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Realm of Yohannes to the People’s Socialist Union of Leskya. A copy of the Executive Council’s response and parliament’s final assent and report of stipulations in their entirety will be published on the Electoral Debates Hansard website shortly.

I am keen to encourage Yohannesian businesses to participate in the Leskyan market. As I suggested based on the discussion at our last meeting, I believe that new commerce and trade between companies of our respective citizen sectors may offer new opportunities to maintain our respective nations’ growth target for the fiscal year 2018-2019.

I would like to finish by acknowledging the important contribution His Excellency the President Daniel Akerman is making to the cause of open diplomacy and the principle of open embassy exchange between members of the international community of nations and regions. I hope that I will be able to attend the Ambassador Introduction event next week, and I look forward to seeing you then.

Thank you for the admission into our Ambassador program and a request to begin diplomatic relations. We are very happy to open dialogue with the Yohannesian Realm.

After careful consultation with the leadership of the State Council, and the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs, I have deemed it beneficial for the People of the Socialist Union of Leskya to grant an Embassy in Stockholm to the Yohannesian Realm, under the appointed leadership of Gretel Flora Schönbaum and her staff.

The Embassy has been modified to the requests of the Ambassador, and a swimming pool has been added to the Ambassador's residence. We hope Beate and Wilma will enjoy it, and hope that the Grisbaum-Schönbaum family will find their residence of quality.
As the Ambassador does not speak Swedish, we will enter her into a private SSOL program, unless preferred otherwise. Please contact me or the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs should any other resident of the Embassy wish to enrol in the program.

Thank you for your admission into our Ambassador program. Leskya always valued peaceful cooperation between fellow Socialist states.
After the recent session of the State Council, it has been decided that your embassy will be accepted, and a plot of land in Stockholm has been drafted for lease to your government.

I am excited to meet with Ambassador Qaanaaq, and personally invite her and her family to a dinner at my residency. I'm sure my children will be deeply excited to meet with the young Johannes, perhaps as excited as I am to hear more in regards to your system of Council Socialism.

In mention of Johannes, I have instructed my associates in Stockholm to enroll in one of the finest schools in Stockholm, though if he or his family desire otherwise, I will be happy to organize a different education.

The Ambassador's residency has been prepared in advance. However, in regards to Cannabis, the border security have instructed me to ensure the Ambassador knows of the laws prohibit international drug distribution. Nevertheless, Leskya has a number of drug dispensaries, which can provide the Ambassador with a wide choice of narcotics, due to our liberal drug policy.
